WhatsApp Is Bringing A New Draft List For All Your Unsent Chats: How It Works
Last Updated: WhatsApp draft list could sound like a basic feature but many users will find it helpful when they look for unsent chats. The unsent WhatsApp chats will soon be added to the draft list WhatsApp is slowly getting to the point where all the features requested by users are released. While some of them are still in the development stage, it is good to see the platform focus on features useful to millions. You even have an app for iPad these days. One of them is likely to be a dedicated draft list which includes all the chats that you would like to send later or forget to send altogether. The new list will be included in the existing tab where you find unread, groups and favourite chats segregated with a button. How many times have you started typing a message and forgot to send or decided to send it later? That's where most people would have liked a draft folder system on WhatsApp which has not been available, and instead, you have to scroll through the messages to find their content. But having the draft list could make it finding these chats one click or tap away. As highlighted by WaBetaInfo in a post, the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.18.17 update has shown traces of this upcoming feature with a preset draft list added to the chat feed for users. As you can see below, WhatsApp will have a new Draft tab at the top of the feed right next to All and Favourites. When you tap on drafts, you will see all the unsend chats in the screen below. You can even edit the tab from the list and switch between different options as per your choice. The tipster also points out that the draft filter will be a preset option and you don't need to manually configure or set it up for your WhatsApp account. It will automatically appear once the relevant update is released by the platform. The feature is still in the development stage but we can expect the beta users to get it in the next few weeks, after which, WhatsApp will take a call on whether to take it public or junk it for now. WhatsApp is also trying out new ways to get people to use Meta AI chatbot. Like Gemini and Grok, you will be able to share images or files with Meta AI and get relevant answers.

WhatsApp Will Soon Let You Share Usernames To Chat With Other People: Here's How
Last Updated: WhatsApp usernames will stop people from sharing their phone number with strangers and use this safer option for chatting. WhatsApp uses numbers to let you chat with other people but that will finally change as the messaging app finally brings support for usernames. We have heard about the feature for a few years now but once again WaBetaInfo claims the platform is developing the tool internally which could give a big privacy boost for its users. The tests are being done on the WhatsApp beta app for iOS devices and it won't be long before the Android version also sees some changes in this regard. Bringing usernames will stop people from sharing their number with strangers, which has been a big privacy issue for years. Usernames can be defined by the user so that they can have a unique identity that can be freely shared with people and not worry about their phone number leaking in the public. These changes will be important for people in WhatsApp groups and other chats that you have with businesses and other platforms. The first instance of usernames on WhatsApp being mentioned was back in 2023 and it seems we are finally getting a move on. Having said that, the tipster suggests WhatsApp will have some rules for how the usernames are created and used on the app. The messaging platform is expected to advise users to set up a username that has at least one letter along with numbers and symbols. For some reason, WhatsApp is telling people that the username cannot start with ' and you will be verified for the username, to know if that ID is available or already in use. WhatsApp did finally launch on iPad after 15 years of giving it a miss so username will be another valuable addition to billions of users. First Published: June 04, 2025, 08:10 IST

WhatsApp Web Will Soon Let You Manage Photos And Files With This Feature: Know More
Last Updated: WhatsApp web client will soon let you take video calls like Zoom and Google Meet but another big update is coming your way as well. WhatsApp is making the web platform more functional and feature-rich in the last few months. The recent WhatsApp beta versions have talked about the ability to make calls from the web app itself, and soon, the messaging app could make it easy to manage all the photos and links that you share with other people on the platform. The new tool has been spotted in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.13.4 version and the details about this feature has been shared by WaBetaInfo in a post this week. The tipster has shared a screenshot of how the interface for the media hub on WhatsApp web will look and you can see it over here. WhatsApp web will basically get a new tab for the media hub on the side panel below the communities section, and when you click on it the interface will open with the media, docs and links section available on the screen. It seems WhatsApp will also have a search bar at the top of the hub so that you can manually search for a particular photo, video or website link that you may have shared with one of your contacts on the messaging app. That's not all, the tipster claims the media hub will give details about the contact who shared the documents with you and the date it was sent. And yes, in case you want to clear up the media files or documents from the chat app, the multi-select option will give you the option to delete them or send them at the same time rather than selecting them one by one. WhatsApp web client has a lot of potential, not just because of how people use it but since most people at work might not work on peeking at their phone to see messages. The mirroring feature has enabled you to see the WhatsApp profile on the web, and soon, it will have support for video calls, just like Google Meet or Zoom on the web app itself. The release for the new media hub is still in development so it will probably take a few months before we see it available on the public beta version. Meanwhile, WhatsApp has finally got the iPad app available on the App Store from this week. It has taken the platform over 15 years to bring a dedicated app for the device but now people can use the messaging app with all its features and privacy intact. First Published:

WhatsApp Chats Will Soon Get Meta AI-Powered Wallpapers From Users: Here's How
Last Updated: WhatsApp chats will soon get the ability to to have AI wallpapers thanks to Meta and the update should be there in the coming months. WhatsApp has used the power of Meta AI to offer a slew of features for its users and soon we could see another interesting use of AI to personalise chats. Yes, Meta AI will have the option to create AI wallpapers for the chat interface with your friends and family. You can simply use text prompt to get a new AI wallpaper generated and use it as the background wallpaper for your chats. WhatsApp AI Wallpapers For Chat: How It Works The details about this feature come via WaBetaInfo in a post this week, where the tipster says the new tool should be available in the coming months. If you are bored with the green or black coloured chat background, the Meta AI feature upgrade will surely get you excited. The good thing about AI wallpapers is that you can create anything using text prompts and even modify them later with new colours, objects or even animals in the background. For all these years, WhatsApp has limited the wallpaper options to the regular colours which eventually changed to more themes and bubble colours last year. Now, it has Meta AI to build on these features and give people more options to personalise the chats for all contacts or their close friends. Meta AI has branched out into a standalone app which not only supports all these features but also lets you talk to the AI chatbot similar to ChatGPT 4o voice mode and Gemini Live. Having said that, WhatsApp is extremely popular across the globe and more AI features will only make it more appealing to more users. The platform is also looking to secure all the AI tools with private computing like Apple AI which could include these features in the near future. This means the platform will allow you to create the group and gradually add people by sharing the group link or invite with them. While this may not sound like a big deal, the messaging app is clearly making it easy to make groups and eventually bring members to them. First Published: May 07, 2025, 08:35 IST
