New Vida VX2 To Miss Out On Disc Brakes- Teaser Confirms
Hero MotoCorp's electric vehicle manufacturing arm, Vida, has been consistently teasing its affordable electric scooter, VX2. The latest teaser released ahead of launch on July 1, 2025, shows the silhouette of the vehicle along with a few other details. One of these elements to focus on is that the upcoming model misses out on the disc brakes and will come equipped with drum brakes. Before its launch, the Vida VX2 electric scooter was seen hidden in plain sight at a dealership, revealing some aspects of its design. Based on the photos, the electric scooter exhibits a design quite similar to the V2 range. These similarities can be noted in features like the headlight and tail lamp. Furthermore, the EV presents a curved shape that echoes the V2 series. Also Read: This BMW Electric Two-Wheeler Is A Result Of Collab With Australian Fashion Brand The previously observed Vida VX2 model had a TFT display that seemed relatively compact compared to those in the V2 lineup, which might be a part of the downgrade. Moreover, it came with physical buttons to scroll through the options visible on the screen. The switchgear on this electric vehicle seemed to have been borrowed from the V2. This model also incorporated a keyhole, indicating its emphasis on affordability. It is anticipated that the Vida VX2 will offer various battery pack options to cater to different consumer preferences. However, specific details about the electric scooter have not yet been revealed. In addition to its specifications, the electric scooter is expected to be constructed on a new platform designed for creating budget-friendly vehicles. The price of the upcoming model will only be revealed at the time of the launch. As previously mentioned, it is expected to be less expensive than the Vida V2 electric scooter, which starts at Rs 74,000 (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 1,20,300 (ex-showroom).

Vida VX2 electric scooter to give disc brake a miss, reveals teaser ahead of imminent launch
Vida VX2 will miss out on disc brakes and will come equipped with drum brakes at front and rear. Notify me Hero MotoCorp's electric two-wheeler sub-brand, Vida, is gearing up to launch its next electric scooter, VX2, in the Indian market on July 1. Vida has already teased the upcoming VX2 EV on social media channels, revealing the silhouette as well as some styling elements. The short video teasing the Vida VX2 reveals another key information about the upcoming electric scooter. It will miss out on disc brakes. The upcoming Vida VX2 comes following the trend of electric two-wheeler manufacturers introducing affordable EVs. Previously, manufacturers such as Ola Electric, Ather Energy, and Bajaj Auto have taken this strategy, and now, Vida is following the same path. Upon launch, the Vida VX2 will compete with entry-level variants of the Bajaj Chetak 3001 and the TVS iQube. The recent taser video has revealed that the Vida VX2, which will come as a more affordable electric scooter from the brand, will come equipped with drum brakes at both front and rear. Considering that the two-wheeler manufacturer has showcased the top-spec trim of the VX2 in the teaser video, the Vida VX2 will give the disc brakes a miss. This also suggests that the OEM is aiming to position the upcoming EV at an aggressive price point. Vida VX2: Everything we know The upcoming Vida VX2 electric scooter will possibly come as a rebadged iteration of the Vida Z EV. It would be built on the company's V2 modular architecture. In that case, expect the electric scooter to share several components with the existing EVs from the brand. However, there will be cost-cutting moves in place to keep the pricing aggressively affordable. The Vida VX2 would come with a physical key, simpler instrumentation compared to its siblings, while the feature list would include fewer options. Expect it to get a smaller TFT display on the instrument cluster. Also, being an affordable EV, it would come equipped with a smaller battery pack. Some of the design elements revealed by the teaser include a square LED headlamp with a fresh design and a bright red colour shade. As we have already reported, Vida VX2 will come with a Batter-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme, allowing the consumers to pay for per-kilometre riding, which will eventually. Hero Vida VX2 To Get Battery-As-A-Service Feature; Launch On July 1, 2025
In a bid to make electric mobility more accessible and affordable, Vida, the electric mobility brand from Hero MotoCorp, is set to introduce a new subscription-based Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, starting July 1, 2025 on its new electric scooter, the Vida VX2. The idea is to significantly lower the entry barrier for electric two-wheeler buyers in India by removing battery ownership from the vehicle purchase cost. The upcoming BaaS model will operate on a flexible 'pay-as-you-go' subscription system, allowing customers to finance the scooter and battery separately keeping costs in mind. View this post on Instagram A post shared by VIDA World (@vidadotworld) Vida's BaaS offering will come with a range of customisable subscription plans suited to both daily and monthly usage patterns. These plans are expected to cater to various budget segments, providing users with the option to pay based on their actual usage while benefiting from the convenience of not having to manage battery health or replacement. This move not only improves cost-efficiency but also provides greater flexibility for users who may want to scale their usage or upgrade without being locked into long-term commitments. The subscription also includes access to Vida's growing EV ecosystem, which already comprises over 3,600 fast-charging stations and 500+ service points across 100+ cities in India. With this BaaS initiative, Vida aims to reshape the traditional EV ownership model and drive wider adoption of electric two-wheelers in the country. By offering more convenience, the company hopes to address key consumer concerns such as battery degradation, replacement costs, and high initial investment, which are commonly cited hurdles in EV adoption. Full details, including pricing and subscription tiers, will be officially announced on July 1, 2025.
