Pendleton names former Nike veteran as new CEO
U.S. heritage brand Pendleton has announced the appointment of Jennifer Ingraffea to the role of chief executive officer, effective next month. Helmed by the Bishop family for over one hundred years, Ingraffea replaces fifth generation family member John Bishop, the Portland, Oregon-based company's current CEO and president. She will be the third external CEO in the company's history, and the first-ever woman to serve in the role. A sportswear veteran, Ingraffea joins the company from U.S. outerwear apparel brand, The North Face, where she served as chief product and merchandising officer. Prior to the VF Corp.-owned brand, Ingraffea logged 19 years at sportswear giant Nike across various leadership roles, including her last role as global VP of kids footwear. 'We set a high bar for this search and are excited to have exceeded it,' said John Bishop. 'From our earliest conversations, it was clear Jenn's magnetic presence, her leadership style grounded in mentorship, and her ability to unite teams around a shared vision made her a natural fit for Pendleton. Jenn brings a decades-long career rooted in global product merchandising, and we look forward to her leading us in delivering compelling, market-relevant products to our customers.' Founded in 1863, Pendleton has evolved from a textile manufacturer into an American icon known for its woolen blankets and throws, as well as knits and shirts. 'When I moved to the Pacific Northwest over two decades ago, Pendleton was one of the first brands that caught my attention. The history, legacy, and unparalleled craftsmanship drew me in immediately,' Ingraffea said. 'Now, I have the incredible opportunity to help shape its next chapter – to guide the brand toward the full promise of its potential.'

Napapijri releases documentary on skiing legend Alberto Tomba
Italian Alpine skiing legend Alberto Tomba has featured on the silver screen thanks to sportswear brand Napapijri. The VF Corp.-owned brand has celebrated Tomba with a new documentary film presented hors concours at the Milano Film Fest. The documentary, entitled '1.14 – an Alberto Tomba Story', premièred exclusively at the Cinemino movie theatre in Milan on June 6. With it, Napapijri has created a unique, unforgettable narrative celebrating universal values such as courage, authenticity and the yearning for exploration. In the film, Napapijri, a pioneer in cultural and design experimentation, tells the authentic story of multiple World Cup and Olympic gold medal winner Tomba. He clinched his first World Cup victory in Sestriere in 1987, the same year Napapijri was founded. The documentary is an honest and unprecedented portrayal of Tomba through archive images and unpublished interviews. The title refers to the 1.14-second lead the Bologna-born skier carved out at the end of the first run in the giant slalom race at the 1988 Calgary Olympics, where he won gold. 'Winning was my life,' said Tomba, speaking in the garden of his Bologna house to Tommaso Cassissa during an interview about the documentary. In a conversation before the screening, Tomba and Cassissa also discussed the future of Italian Alpine skiing.
