Bodies of elderly couple from AP found at city ghat
Varanasi: Bodies of an elderly couple from Andhra Pradesh were found at Mansarovar Ghat in the Bhelupur police station area on Thursday night. The police sent the bodies for postmortem and initiated a probe.
According to reports, the locals noticed the duo lying on the ghat steps and alerted the police.
According to police, the couple was identified as V Gangarao (65) and his wife V Appa Amma (60) from Godavari, AP West, Andhra Pradesh. They were staying at a Telugu ashram, where a police team found their mobile phone. The grandson has been informed. Bhelupur SO Gopal Ji Kushwaha said the exact cause of death will be clear after the postmortem report.
