Gaurav Bajaj on not quitting TV: I came to Mumbai to be an actor, not a hero

In an industry that thrives on reinvention, actor Gaurav Bajaj is quietly crafting his second act—this time on the big screen. Known for his work in TV shows such as Choti Sarrdaarni, Uttaran and others, Gaurav was recently seen in Tumko Meri Kasam. "The transition to movies has been really challenging and yes, definitely rewarding. I had to unlearn a lot of things to learn these new things." Gaurav tells us. While Gaurav brings over a decade of acting experience, the shift to film required starting over in many ways. The respect was there—seasoned technicians and co-actors acknowledged his years in the business—but he had to earn his spot all over again. "Moving to movies is a tough nut to crack. The biggest challenge is starting over in a new way. No matter how experienced you are, no matter where you come from, but when you enter films you have to introduce yourself. No matter how experienced you are… you're often a newcomer. But I got that respect from the team… from assistants to the cameraman," he recalls. One of the more nuanced battles Gaurav is fighting is the assumption game. Audiences and casting professionals often equate past roles with future potential. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like No dark spots, 10 years younger! "People tend to box you in a certain image based on your past work and what characters you have played. But in cinema, their thought process is why only this person? So, they give you a chance. .. There's a lot of difference between a hero and an actor. I've always been very focused towards why I came to Bombay. I came to Bombay to be an actor, not a hero. Stereotypes exist, but I believe your right choices and consistency help change those perceptions," he explains. Despite his dive into film, Gaurav is not turning his back on his roots. His respect for television as his foundation is unwavering, and his openness to OTT and future TV projects reflects a modern actor's mindset—fluid and fearless. "Quitting TV? Not at all. I don't think I will ever quit anything. It's storytelling and it's evolving. Today, as an actor, it's not limited to one medium. I have done OTT, I'm exploring films… but TV is my foundation. I'll always respect that," he concludes.

Tinaa Dattaa Hits Back At Trolls Over Pakistan Post: 'Unfollow Me, I Don't Care'

Last Updated: Television actress Tinaa Dattaa took a bold stand on Instagram after facing backlash over her post critiquing Pakistan's military rhetoric. Television actress Tinaa Dattaa, known for her roles in popular shows like Uttaran, sparked intense debate on social media this week after sharing a strongly-worded Instagram Story in response to Pakistan's claims about shooting down Indian fighter jets. Her post read, 'Pakistan claiming that they shot down Indian jets to let the world know about their military/air force strength. Wish they said the same about shooting down terror camps in their province. That would command more respect for them on a global level." The message was a pointed take on the neighbouring country's perceived priorities and drew a flurry of reactions from both supporters and detractors. Following the post, Tinaa began receiving backlash from several Instagram users, many of whom threatened to unfollow her. One such user sent her a message saying, 'Unfollowing you to be andhbhakt urine drunk people (sic)," to which the actress responded without mincing words. 'And there are people who only spread hatred. Why be in Bharat if you've so much problem with this country?" she replied, making her stance very clear. Her response set the tone for what followed—an unapologetic stream of stories standing firm in her beliefs. As more messages poured in criticizing her post, Tinaa chose to address the unfollow threats directly. In another Instagram story, she wrote, 'All those threatening to unfollow me and making announcements to do so, you should be gone by now… And I simply don't care. Nothing will change my stand on what our country India and our PM is doing, and that is taking on terror and dealing with it the way it should be dealt with… for your own safety and ours and our country. Please unfollow, I encourage that. I don't know you, don't wanna know you and don't need you… go get a workout, sleep, but just go… Bharat Power. Jai Hind." Tinaa's strong reaction came amid heightened national sentiment following Operation Sindoor, a major offensive by the Indian Armed Forces targeting terror hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The operation was launched in retaliation to the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam, where 26 civilians lost their lives. As the news unfolded, many television celebrities including Hina Khan, Karan Tacker, Abhishek Kumar, Avika Gor, and Shubhangi Atre took to social media to applaud the government and the armed forces for their swift and decisive response. Tinaa, however, has been among the few to engage so directly and vocally with online critics. First Published:
