Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma meets NEET-UG 2025 topper Mahesh Kumar
Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], June 16 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Monday met Mahesh Kumar, a student from Hanumangarh, who secured first position in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) (NEET-UG) examination. In a social media post on X, Chief Minister Sharma congratulated him for his achievement and wished him a bright future. 'Today, I had a warm meeting with Shri Mahesh Kumar ji, a talented student of Hanumangarh district, who brought pride to Rajasthan by securing first position in the NEET UG-2025 examination in the entire country, at the Chief Minister's residence and congratulated him for this achievement and wished him a bright future. I also congratulated his parents present on the occasion for their guidance in this success,' CM Bhajanlal posted on X. Rajasthan's Mahesh Kumar achieved the first rank in the NEET (UG) 2025 examination with a percentile of 99.9999547, whereas Madhya Pradesh's Utkarsh Awadhiya achieved the second rank with 99.9990095 percentile. Indore's Utkarsh Awadhiya has secured All India Rank 2 in NEET UG 2025. Sharing his journey, Awadhiya stated that although he had worked hard but he enjoyed every bit of this journey. Speaking to ANI on Saturday, Utkarsh said, 'I continued working hard and enjoyed the journey. It is not that this journey was very difficult for me. I enjoyed this journey at every step. I started the preparation in class 11. Our class timings were 9.30 am to 6.30 pm. I used to return to the hostel after that and study seriously for 2 to 3 hours.' 'I lived in a hostel because the study environment created in a hostel cannot be created at home. My father is a branch manager in HDFC Bank. My mother is a housewife. I also have a younger brother. He will probably prepare for the JEE. I would like to tell children that if you want to prepare well for NEET, then do not use mobile too much. You should stay away from social media,' he added. On June 14, the National Testing Agency declared the results of the NEET (UG) examination. The NTA shared a post on their official 'X' handle and informed about the development. The NEET (UG) examinations were held on May 4 across 548 cities in India and 14 international centres. More than 20.8 lakh students appeared for the NEET (UG) examination. Rajasthan's Mahesh tops NEET-UG, Utkarsh bags second rank
New Delhi: Rajasthan's Mahesh Kumar has topped the medical entrance exam NEET-UG, while Utkarsh Awadhiya from Madhya Pradesh has bagged the second rank, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced on Saturday. More than 12.36 lakh candidates out of 22.09 lakh test takers qualified the exam. The number is down from last year's 13.15 lakh qualifying candidates. However, the number of test takers was also higher last year at over 23.33 lakh. Among the qualifying candidates this year, over 7.2 lakh are females while over 5.14 lakh are males. While 529 qualifying candidates are foreign nationals, 405 are NRIs and 606 are OCI card holders. Maharashtra's Krishang Joshi and Delhi's Mrinal Kishore Jha bagged the third and fourth ranks, respectively. Among females, Delhi's Avika Aggarwal emerged topper, bagging the fifth rank nationally. The maximum qualifying candidates are from Uttar Pradesh (over 1.70 lakh), followed by Maharashtra (over 1.25 lakh) and Rajasthan (over 1.19 lakh). A total of 73 candidates have scored marks in the range of 651 to 686 out of 720 while 1,259 candidates have scored between 601 to 650. "The NTA conducts the exam and declares result based on the eligibility criteria provided by the National Medical Council (NMC). The admitting authorities will now draw a merit list based on all India rank for the MBBS and BDS seats available in their jurisdiction," said Col B Vijay Kumar, Director (Exams), NTA. The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) is the largest entrance exam in the country in terms of the number of candidates appearing for the test. The NTA conducts the NEET every year for admission into medical colleges. A total of 1,08,000 seats are available for the MBSS course -- approximately 56,000 in government hospitals, and about 52,000 in private colleges. Admissions to undergraduate courses in dentistry, Ayurveda, Unani and Siddha also utilise NEET results for admission. NTA conducted NEET at 5,468 centres located at 552 cities in India and 14 cities in other countries on May 4. The cities outside India were Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bangkok, Colombo, Doha, Kathmandu, Kuwait, Lagos, Kaula Lumpur, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah and Singapore. The exam was conducted in 13 languages -- Assamese, Bengali, English, Urdu, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malyalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Odia. Over 18 lakh candidates had opted to appear for the exam in English while over 2.28 lakh candidates appeared in Hindi.

NEET UG 2025: 12.37 lakh qualify, no perfect 720 scores this year

NEET UG Result 2025 announced, here's what is next for qualified candidates
The National Testing Agency, NTA, declared the results of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2025 on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Over 12 lakh candidates have cleared the undergraduate medical entrance test this year. He urged students to refrain from falling into the trap of overconfidence or under confidence and suggested that one must have fixed schedule and maintain good health during preparation. 'I studied at Guru Kripa Career Institute for three years, and my strategy was simple, consistent study without falling into the trap of overconfidence or under confidence. Regularity, a fixed timetable, and taking good care of my health were key,' PTI quoted NEET-UG All India Rank 1 holder as saying. Stressing the need for a structured study plan and self-care, he advised students to practice time management and said, "As a Hindi medium student, I did feel nervous at first, but my coaching institute supported me throughout. To my juniors, I'd say — follow a schedule, time management is something you learn best through regular mock tests." He scored 99.9999547 percentile in the NEET UG results announced on June 14.
