Hamilton star Anthony Ramos calls out Madonna for using iPad during Broadway performance
Anthony Ramos says Madonna lit up the whole theatre with her iPad during a performance of Hamilton on Broadway. The 33-year-old actor originated the dual roles of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the Broadway show and is among a group of Hamilton actors to speak out on Madonna's alleged behavior in the audience. Appearing on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live on Thursday (19.06.25), Ramos said: 'The most terrifying was Madonna with her iPad in her face. She was like this [shining a light] the whole time. 'I was like, 'Damn, shorty. If you're not enjoying it that much, you know the door is right there. You don't have to stay here.'' Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator of the musical who played Alexander Hamilton, also appeared to call out The Queen of Pop in a since-deleted post on Twitter in April 2015. He penned at the time: 'Tonight was the first time I asked stage management NOT to allow a celebrity (who was texting all through Act 2) backstage. #noselfieforyou." However, the Like a Virgin hitmaker's publicist rubbished the claim, telling Us Weekly: "It's not true. She was invited backstage four different times. She texted post show when they were doing their fundraising pitch. Madonna had already made a generous donation.' Jonathan Groff, who starred as King George, also fumed 'that b**** was on her phone.' He said at the time: 'You couldn't miss it from the stage. 'It was a black void of the audience in front of us and her face there perfectly lit by the light of her iPhone through three-quarters of the show.'

Madonna slammed for controversial behaviour during Broadway musical
A Broadway star has slammed Madonna for her behaviour in the audience while she attended a Hamilton performance a decade ago. The Hung Up singer, 66, has been criticised in a new interview by actor Anthony Ramos, 33, who starred in the original 2015 cast of Hamilton. Anthony played the dual role of John Laurens and Phillip Hamilton in the hit Broadway musical, created and written by Oscar nominee Lin-Manuel Miranda. In the play, Phillip, the titular character Alexander Hamilton's son, is tragically killed in a duel. It's one of the more emotional moments of the historical story. However, one audience member who was apparently unmoved during the show was the Queen of Pop herself, with Anthony calling her out in fresh comments. Speaking to Watch What Happens Live, the Broadway star revealed he was left feeling particularly unhappy by one aspect of the Hung Up hitmaker's behaviour. He was asked by the show's host Andy Cohen, 'Who was the most terrifying celebrity to spot in the audience during your Hamilton days?' and he didn't mince words. 'The most terrifying was Madonna with her iPad in her face. She was like this the whole time,' he replied, as he mimicked holding a tablet device in his hands. He continued: 'I was like, 'Damn, shorty. If you're not enjoying [the show] that much, you know the door's right there. You ain't gotta stay here.'' The tale drew awkward laughs from host Andy and a few members of the live studio audience, with Anthony's frank response catching a few people off guard. In 2015, Lin-Manuel himself tweeted: 'Tonight was the first time I asked stage management NOT to allow a celebrity (who was texting all through Act 2) backstage. No selfie for you.' Fans instantly began speculating as to who the celebrity could be, which resulted in Lin-Manuel taking the tweet down, and another tweet from someone in the audience only fuelled those fires further. Casey Erin Clark, a stage performer and singer, said: 'That time you want to smack Madonna upside the head for texting during the best show I've ever seen.' Jonathan Groff, 40, who played King George III, said he was not disappointed at all that Madonna had allegedly been disinvited from any backstage parties. 'That b***h was on her phone,' he said to Dot249. 'You couldn't miss it from the stage. It was a black void of the audience in front of us and her face there perfectly lit by the light of her iPhone.' More Trending Months after the incident, Jonathan insisted that the Die Another Day singer had been using her device 'through three quarters of the show'. At the time, Madonna's publicist stated to Us Weekly that the rumours about the Papa Don't Preach singer were not true: 'It's not true. She was invited backstage four different times. 'She texted post-show when they were doing their fundraising pitch. Madonna had already made a generous donation.' Metro has reached out to Madonna for comment. Got a story? Ines de Ramon's kiss dodged by Brad Pitt at F1 premiere
Brad Pitt and his girlfriend Ines de Ramon caused a stir on social media after a seemingly awkward red carpet moment at the world premiere of F1 in Times Square on Monday. A circulating video clip shows de Ramon leaning in for a kiss, only for Pitt to turn away to greet another woman, sparking online chatter and renewed speculation about the couple's dynamic. Shortly after, another video from the premiere's reception appeared to show de Ramon being excluded from a group photo. As Pitt stood centre-stage posing with co-stars and event attendees, de Ramon remained off to the side. While she was within view, Pitt didn't motion for her to join the shot and quickly turned back to the camera after glancing her way. Some fans saw this as a snub, fuelling theories that their relationship is largely for publicity. One user wrote, 'He didn't even signal her to join the group — it's like she wasn't part of it at all.' Others defended the moment, noting that de Ramon was seen hugging another woman shortly after the photo was taken, possibly indicating she was simply distracted or opted out voluntarily. Despite the viral reaction, Pitt and de Ramon did share subtle moments of affection on the red carpet, holding hands and exchanging smiles. Pitt, 61, wore a navy suit with a pastel shirt, while de Ramon, 32, opted for a sheer halter top and feathered floor-length skirt. The couple, linked since late 2022, were recently spotted on a double date with Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper. Sources told Us Weekly that Pitt is in a 'good place' following his 2024 divorce settlement with Angelina Jolie, crediting years of therapy and a quieter lifestyle for his stability. While social media is divided over the red carpet interactions, others argue that the awkward moments may simply be circumstantial — not reflective of deeper issues.
