Angel Reese releases 'Mebound' clothing line, acknowledging criticism and raising money to fight cyberbullying
Angel Reese's new line of merchandise, "Mebounds," was released on Thursday as the Chicago Sky forward continues the fight against cyberbullying during her second season in the WNBA. Reese trademarked the word "Mebound," which was initially coined to mock her rebounding her own missed shots. While embracing the criticism, Reese took the term and flipped it into a positive message. Advertisement Reese announced the merchandise line on her X account with a video showing the different designs from the latest release. The former LSU star wrote that some of the proceeds will go to the Angel C. Reese Foundation to "help fight against cyberbullying." The line includes sweatshirts, T-shirts and hats featuring the "Mebounds" slogan, and several pieces include the line: "Anything that comes off that board, it's mine." The pieces are available on Reese's website. On an Instagram story promoting the new clothing line, Reese restated her foundation's mission, "to help fight cyberbullying, raise awareness, and create safe online spaces for the next generation. Because every rebound — and every Mebound — is power reclaimed." Advertisement Reese has advocated against cyberbullying toward athletes and girls in general. Apart from addressing the subject on her "Unapologetically Angel" podcast, Reese has made other efforts to create safe online spaces. In August 2024, Reese collaborated with "The Net" Mental Health Network to launch the "Block The Negativity Post Up Positivity' campaign. The partnership produced a video, later posted on the Sky's YouTube channel, highlighting that 87% of female athletes experience online harm. The Angel C. Reese Foundation was founded in 2023 with various initiatives to empower women through education, mentorship and sports. Apart from back-to-school giveaways and plans to open basketball courts in Chicago, Reese recently partnered with the Magic Johnson Foundation to launch a financial literacy program in Baltimore, where Reese is from. "Mebound" is the latest project as Reese aims to expand her impact beyond the basketball court. Advertisement In her second year in Chicago, Reese is already averaging a double-double with 11 points and 11.7 rebounds per game. She led the WNBA in rebounds as a rookie with A'ja Wilson and Jonquel Jones sitting second and third, respectively. The Sky sit fifth in the Eastern Conference and 11th in the WNBA with a 3-8 record.

Flau'jae Johnson Reveals Why She and Angel Reese Aren't Friends Anymore
Flau'jae Johnson Reveals Why She and Angel Reese Aren't Friends Anymore originally appeared on Athlon Sports. For two seasons, Angel Reese and Flau'jae Johnson were close friends and teammates. The Chicago Sky forward and current LSU star guard helped lead the Tigers to their first-ever national championship back in 2023, but in the two years since, they've seemingly drifted apart. Advertisement 'I still support Flau'jae; we aren't as close as we used to be,' Reese said on her 'Unapologetically Angel' podcast last year. 'There's no hard feelings or anything. It happens. 'You don't have the best relationships with everybody, and don't always continue relationships with people. So I wish her the best always, I'm always going to support her. There's no love lost but we aren't as close as we used to be.' Though they no longer speak, Reese made it known there's no bad blood between the two. However, Johnson seemingly painted a different picture. LSU Lady Tigers guard Flau'jae Johnson, left, celebrates with former teammate Angel Reese after defeating the Virginia Tech Hokies in the 2023 women's Final Lee-Imagn Images During a recent appearance on 'The Breakfast Club' podcast, Johnson made it seem like the two actually had a falling out during Reese's final season at LSU. Advertisement 'We're not friends, but I mean that bond that we had, that thing that we did together, winning a national championship, you can never take that away from us,' Johnson stated. 'And so sometimes stuff happens, you wish it don't happen but it do. And you just got to grow. '… Yeah, it was a lot of media, it was a lot of locker room stuff. You know what I'm saying? Stuff that go on behind the scenes. But it happens, it happens… Sometimes stuff happens. You wish it don't happen, but it do.' While it's not known exactly what went down between the two, their mothers did feud publicly back in 2023 over social media. Reese's mother seemingly fired the first shot, taking a jab at Johnson's mother, who responded by insulting Reese and mocking her alleged 2.0 GPA at the time — something she carried with her and jabbed at after graduating last year. Angel Reese's Unexpected Gesture Catches Attention During Sky-Liberty Game
Angel Reese's Unexpected Gesture Catches Attention During Sky-Liberty Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Chicago Sky's game against the New York Liberty got prime-time treatment on ESPN Tuesday night in Barclays Center. Advertisement That meant a 30-minute "WNBA Countdown" before the game, veteran reporter Holly Rowe patrolling the sidelines and plenty of coverage of the Sky's most popular player, second-year forward Angel Reese. Those elements collided during a mid-game interview that took place between the first and second quarters. Rowe pulled aside Reese to ask about Chicago's slow start to the game, which saw the struggling Sky trail the defending WNBA champions 26-15 after the first 10 minutes. Reese's response was more than Rowe bargained for. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese (5).Trevor Ruszkowski-Imagn Images After the 23-year-old answered the first question, she identified something wrong with the reporter's eyelash and offered a helping hand. Advertisement "Are you fixing my eyelash?" Rowe said, flustered in the middle of her next question. "I love that, thank you!" The wholesome moment caught the attention of WNBA fans on social media. "Angel Reese just fixing Holly Rowe's eyelash on national television mid-interview was such a moment," wrote a fan on X. "Angel Reese fixing Holly Rowe's eye lashes is a classic TV moment," echoed another. "Don't @ me." Reese's highly-acclaimed sense of style off the court and the friendly persona she displays on her "Unapologetically Angel" podcast shined through in the interaction. "Angel is such a girl's girl," praised a fan. "She don't even like holly rowe like that and she still fixed her eyelash mid interview." Advertisement "Angel fixing Holly Rowe's eyelash," one user said jokingly. "She said girl you look a mess." "Angel Reese adjusting Holly Rowe's eyelash during a first quarter interview is something you won't see in any other league," wrote a WNBA fan. At the time of the interview, Reese had seven points in the first quarter on 3-for-4 shooting while the rest of her team had eight points on 4-for-15 shooting. Shaquille O'Neal Reveals Major Warning He Gave to Angel Reese Before Career-Altering Decision
Shaquille O'Neal Reveals Major Warning He Gave to Angel Reese Before Career-Altering Decision originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese is only in her second WNBA season, but is already one of the most popular players in the sport. Advertisement The double-double machine is the most-followed athlete in the WNBA on Instagram with 4.9 million, her podcast "Unapologetically Angel," has 142,000 subscribers and she has already been given a signature shoe Reebok. The signature "Engine A" shoes released on Reebok's website on Wednesday for $120 in five different colorways, and officially made Reese just one of a handful active players with a signature sneaker. Being that Reese, who was named an WNBA All-Star as a rookie, checks all of the boxes on and off of the court, she would have always seemed like the perfect candidate for a signature shoe. However, while appearing on "New Heights" with Travis and Jason Kelce, NBA legend and mentor of Reese, Shaquille O'Neal who is the President of Reebok Basketball, revealed that he made it clear to Reese that signing with Reebok could propel her career even more than brands such as Nike, Under Armour or Puma. NBA analyst and former player Shaquille O'Neal. Cary Edmondson-Imagn Images "We launched our first shoe, Engine A, and the first signee I had to make was Angel Reese because I know her," O'Neal said. "So I went to her and said, 'Listen, I could do something nobody's going to do for you...'Said 'I can give you your own shoe.' You want to go to Nike and wear everybody else's shoe, or you want to have your own shoe?' Advertisement O'Neal brought up how long it took Las Vegas Aces star and three-time WNBA MVP, A'ja Wilson, to get a signature shoe with Nike, as the No. 1 pick in the 2018 draft saw her first shoe release just last month. Not to mention, Reese's classmate and fellow second-year superstar Caitlin Clark is still awaiting her first shoe despite signing an eight-year $28 million deal with Nike, and despite the fact she is viewed as the face of the league. So, while Reebok may not be as popular as it once was when O'Neal donned the kicks during his career, Reese not only has an opportunity to help resurrect the once dominant brand, but to be the focal point of the company. Angel Reese Gets Big News on Monday Night
Angel Reese Gets Big News on Monday Night originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky have gotten off to a bit of a rocky start to the 2025 WNBA season, but there is still plenty of time to turn things around. Advertisement Along with her teammates, the second-year forward out of LSU, whom the Sky drafted with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, is still seemingly working to figure things out under new head coach Tyler Marsh. While there haven't been many positives for Reese and the Sky who currently sit at 2-5 and will play their next two games against two of the hottest teams in the WNBA, Reese was on the receiving end of a personal award off of the court Monday evening. At the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, the Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards were held. For the second consecutive year, Reese won the Sportswoman of the Year award. The award is given to the top athlete both on and off of the court. In a statement released online featuring all of the winners, Reese's accomplishments on and off of the court were highlighted. "On the sports side, Angel Reese dominated as Sportswoman of the Year, continuing her streak of wins both on and off the court," read the release.
