Netanyahu: Israel can destroy all of Iran's nuclear sites without US help

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says his country is capable of attacking all of Iran's nuclear facilities without US support. Netanyahu was interviewed by an Israeli TV station on Thursday. Asked whether a uranium enrichment plant in Fordow could be attacked with or without US involvement, Netanyahu said, "We have the power to remove all our targets, all their nuclear facilities." The Fordow complex reportedly lies about 80 meters underground in a mountainous area of central Iran. The administration of US President Donald Trump is reportedly considering military intervention upon Israel's request, and the use of so-called bunker-buster bombs to destroy the Fordow facility. US news site Axios on Wednesday quoted Israeli government sources as saying Israel alone could cause huge damage to the Fordow complex. The sources said Israel made a surprise attack against an underground missile plant in Syria last September. They said Israel may not have to rely on the "bunker buster." Trump issued a message on Thursday saying he will decide within two weeks whether to take military action against Iran.

Senegal PM's ‘deep gratitude' to China after US refuses women's basketball team's visas

Senegal's Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko expressed his 'deep gratitude' to China on Thursday for its support of the country's women's basketball team, after the United States rejected visas for several members ahead of a planned training camp. The visa refusals come amid US President Donald Trump's administration's immigration crackdown and tightened border controls. Senegal is among 36 nations the US is considering adding to a travel ban barring entry to its territory, according to an internal administration memo. America is set to co-host the 2026 Fifa World Cup with Canada and Mexico, and stage the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. Posting on Facebook, Sonko said he had been told 'about the refusal to issue visas to several members of the Senegalese women's national basketball team'. 01:08 'Best in the world': Trump shows off new giant flagpoles at the White House 'Best in the world': Trump shows off new giant flagpoles at the White House He said he had instructed the country's ministry of sports to 'simply cancel the ten-day preparatory training'.

China's Rare Earth Magnet Exports Slump in May, Especially to US

Chinese exports of rare earth magnets slumped further in May, with shipments to the US showing an especially steep drop due to the trade war with Washington. Rare earth minerals, and the products that use the elements, have been at the center of the dispute since early April, when China imposed export controls in retaliation for punitive tariffs levied on Chinese goods. The two countries have since sought to reset relations, culminating in a meeting in London in early June, which prompted US President Donald Trump to declare that issues around rare earths had been resolved.
