External body to see asst prof job process in aided colleges
Prayagraj: In a significant development, the state govt has formed a four-member committee to supervise the post-exam procedures for recruitment of over 900 assistant professors in 331 aided private colleges, following allegations of paper leaks and irregularities. The committee will oversee tasks ranging from the evaluation of answer sheets to the declaration of cut-offs and the final selection of candidates. Special secretary of higher education, Girijesh Kumar Tyagi, on June 12, issued an official order announcing the formation of this committee. According to the directive, the move was taken to ensure a transparent and efficient process under the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), which conducted the assistant professor written examinations on April 16 and 17 across 910 subjects. More than 90,000 candidates registered for these examinations. The committee comprises ADM City Prayagraj Satyam Mishra, additional superintendent of police from the UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board Geetanjali Singh, additional superintendent of police STF Vishal Vikram Singh, and assistant director from the directorate of higher education in Prayagraj Ajit Kumar Singh. The arrested individuals included Vaijnath Pal, an assistant professor of political science at Lal Bahadur Shastri Degree College in Gonda, instructor Vinay Kumar Pal, and Mehboob Ali, all three residents of Ayodhya. UPESSC defers PGT recruitment exam
The Post-Graduate Teacher (PGT) Recruitment Exam-2022, earlier scheduled for June 18 and 19 for filling up vacant teaching posts in government-aided secondary schools across Uttar Pradesh, has been postponed, leaving more than 4.6 lakh candidates waiting for the examination for the past three years disappointed yet again. After a meeting on Tuesday, the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) decided to postpone the examination due to 'unavoidable reasons', officials confirmed. According to information by examination controller DP Singh, the written exam will now be conducted in the last week of August. The revised schedule will be announced soon through newspapers and the official website ( Singh said. The delay was anticipated after the commission failed to release the list of cities having exam centres by June 9, ten days before the scheduled dates. As many as 4,64,605 candidates had applied online in 2022 for the exam to fill up 624 vacant PGT posts. Earlier in the day, several aspirants staged a protest at the UPESSC office over the delay and demanded that the examination be conducted as scheduled. The candidates surrounded the car of Harendra Rai, a member of the commission, who arrived for a meeting. Later, deputy secretary Shivji Malviya told the protesting candidates that the examination had been postponed due to unavoidable reasons and that it would be conducted in August.

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has officially opened the application window for the recruitment of Assistant Professors ( under the UP Higher Education Service Commission (UPHESC). The drive aims to fill 107 vacancies. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official portal The recruitment process includes a written examination followed by an interview, with selection based on a total of 230 marks.
