‘It makes you think' – Lucas Chevalier reveals Premier League temptation
Could Lucas Chevalier (23) be set for a move to the Premier League? The Lille OSC goalkeeper's recent comments suggest he is at least tempted by the idea. Chevalier was present at the UNFP end-of-season awards on Sunday. During the ceremony, he was named best goalkeeper in Ligue 1 for the 2024/25 season and was also included in the Ligue 1 team-of-the-year. This season, Lille are in the race to return to the UEFA Champions League and it is in this competition that the young shotstopper has particularly shone. His performances in the League Phase of the competition led to great clamour for him to be involved in the France set-up. He has since earned his first call-up from Didier Deschamps. Advertisement For several months, Chevalier has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain. However, a move to the Parc des Princes is looking less likely given Gianluigi Donnarumma's return to form. But that doesn't mean that a summer move away from Lille isn't off the cards entirely. Speaking at the UNFP awards, Chevalier hinted that he would be interested in a move abroad. 'The Premier League? It is the most attractive league. When you see Tottenham and Manchester United, who are struggling with crazy players [in their squads]… I have two years left on my contract, and you know the president (Olivier Létang) (laughs). Désiré Doué wins UNFP's Ligue 1 Player of the Month award for March Paris Saint-Germain striker Désiré Doué has taken home the UNFP's Ligue 1 Player of the Month award for March. With 44% of the votes from visitors to the France international finished ahead of AS Monaco's Mika Biereth (38%) and club teammate Ousmane Dembélé (18%), who picked up the award in January. Meanwhile, not only is Doué the third Paris player to earn the distinction this season (following in the footsteps of Les Rouge et Bleu's no. 10 as well as September's winner Bradley Barcola), but this is also the first time that the Angers native, who racked up three goals and two assists in four matches last month, has been named as the Ligue 1 Player of the Month in his career so far. Achraf Hakimi nominated for UNFP Player of the Month award in February
DR Estimated read time: 1' Achraf Hakimi (Paris Saint-Germain), Ousmane Dembélé (Paris Saint-Germain), and Amine Gouiri (Olympique de Marseille) have been nominated for the UNFP Ligue 1 Player of the Month award for February. Dembélé, who won the award in January, scored five goals in February, including a hat-trick against Brest (5-2) on February 1 and a brace against Monaco (4-1) on February 7. Hakimi also impressed, netting twice in PSG's 3-2 victory over Lyon on February 23. Gouiri, who joined OM from Rennes this winter, made an immediate impact with a brace in the 5-1 win over Saint-Étienne on February 15, as well as three assists—one against Lyon (3-2) on February 2 and two against Angers (2-0) the following weekend. ????????? Ousmane Dembélé named Ligue 1 Player of the Month
The French players' union – Union Nationale des Footballeurs Professionnels – have announced that PSG striker Ousmane Dembélé (27) has been named Ligue 1 Player of the Month for January. The former Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona winger is on fire at the moment. Dembélé scored 13 goals since the turn of the year, including eight in Ligue 1. Dembélé rocked to the top of Ligue 1 goalscoring charts with 16 strikes. Dembélé notably clinched a hat-trick against Brest last week and was on target again twice against AS Monaco on Friday.
