Twice hits gold in Japan with best-of album

The fifth best-of album in Japan from Twice, '#Twice5,' certified for gold by the Recording Industry Association of Japan. In addition, 'I Can't Stop Me,' title track from second studio album 'Eyes Wide Open,' surpassed 200 million streams and cinched double platinum certification. The single is its third song to achieve the feat, after 'Feel Special' from 2023 and 'The Feels' from 2024. Twice is poised to roll out its sixth LP in Japan, 'Enemy,' on Aug. 27, while the nonet would be touring the nation for its upcoming international tour. The tour is named after its fourth full album 'This Is For,' set to be released July 11. Separately, Chaeyoung will come out with her first solo set soon as the fourth member to do so.

Twice to drop 6th Japanese LP in August

Twice will roll out its sixth LP in Japan on Aug. 27, label JYP Entertainment announced Wednesday. In the trailer for 'Enemy,' the nine members went for retro vibes, fiddling with musical instruments and dressed in rock-chic outfits. Twice has released five LPs and ten singles as well as five best-of albums and two reissues in Japan so far. The latest was the fifth best-of album '#Twice5' from May, which earned gold certification. The sixth LP will be released in the middle of the Japan leg of their upcoming international tour. The group is set to travel to four cities in the country between late July and mid-September. It is part of the tour named after the group's fourth full album in Korea, 'This Is For,' slated to be released July 11.

Twice releases 5th compilation album in Japan

Twice released its fifth best-of album in Japan on Wednesday, according to JYP Entertainment. Dubbed '#Twice5,' the album is made up of Japanese-language versions of hit songs including 'Talk That Talk,' 'Set Me Free' and 'One Spark.' The new set comes over three years since the fourth installment of the '#Twice' series, which topped Oricon's weekly album and weekly combined album rankings. The nonet debuted in Japan in 2017. Since then, the girl group has released five full albums and ten singles in the country. Separately, the band appeared as special guests at Coldplay's Korean concerts last month, opening all six shows. They also went on to publish a new version of the single 'We Pray.' In August, the group heads to the US and will headline Lollapalooza Chicago.
