Marathi actor Tushar Ghadigaonkar found dead in Mumbai flat
Actor Tushar Ghadigaonkar, best known for his performances in Marathi films, has passed away. As per the Mumbai Police, Tushar was found dead in his home here on June 20. "A message was received from the main control room stating that an unconscious person was found in Room No. 102, R4, Ram Mandir Road, Mumbai's Goregaon West, and police assistance was required. Upon reaching the location, an unconscious individual was found lying on the ground. He was transported to Trauma Care Hospital, where the medical officer examined him and declared him brought dead," the police informed. Tushar, 34, was addicted to alcohol and had been under stress for the past year, as per the officials. When officers arrived at the scene, Ghadigaonkar was found lying unconscious on the floor. He was rushed to Trauma Care Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on findings suggest that Ghadigaonkar was under severe stress, reportedly stemming from a lack of consistent work in the entertainment industry. Marathi actor Tushar Ghadigaonkar allegedly committed suicide in his house in Mumbai's Goregaon West area reportedly due to depression at not getting work, a police official said on Saturday. The 34-year-old, who acted in serials, plays and films, hanged himself from a ceiling fan in his rented flat in Ram Mandir area on Friday night, the official said. A post shared by Makarand Sawant (@thisismakarandsawant) 'He was alone at home at the time. When his wife returned home, he did not open the door, following which she alerted neighbours and police. We found him hanging from the ceiling fan when the door was broken down. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival,' the official said. A preliminary probe has found he was depressed due to lack of work in the film industry and had turned towards liquor, the Goregaon police station official said. His last rites were performed in Bhandup during the day. An accidental death report (ADR) has been registered and further probe is underway, the official added.
