6 more S. Koreans, 1 Iranian family member evacuate Iran amid escalating conflict with Israel
Six more South Koreans and an Iranian family member have safely crossed the border from Iran into neighboring Turkmenistan amid the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, Seoul's foreign ministry said Friday. Two South Korean nationals and an Iranian family member arrived in Ashgabat on Friday afternoon (local time), in addition to four other South Koreans who had earlier left Iran and reached the Turkmen capital via the same land route, the ministry said. This brings the total number of South Koreans who have left Iran to 37, since the government began operations to assist those wishing to evacuate, including by providing transportation through border checkpoints. Twenty-six South Koreans and four Iranian family members also crossed the border into Turkmenistan by transportation provided by the South Korean government earlier this week. Escalating airstrikes between Israel and Iran have prompted countries to evacuate their nationals from the region. At least 43 South Koreans and their Israeli family members have fled Israel and taken shelter in Jordan. An estimated 110 South Koreans were in Iran and around 500 in Israel before the conflict began last Friday. (Yonhap)

Bahrain seeks second overland option to repatriate citizens from Iran
Repatriation of Bahraini citizens from Iran is in motion, with authorities exploring return routes through both Iraq and Turkmenistan, according to MP Jalal Kadhem. One route has already been secured via the Iran–Iraq border, with arrangements in place to exempt Bahrainis from Iraqi visa charges. A second path, through Turkmenistan, is still being negotiated. Reply Talks are ongoing, and Bahrain is awaiting a reply from Turkmen authorities to allow its citizens to cross by land and return home by air. Kadhem said Bahrain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs is handling the matter, with the country's non-resident ambassador to Turkmenistan, Bassam Al Marzooq, who is based in Ankara, overseeing efforts to establish a safe passage. Discussions with neighbouring countries are said to be advancing, with the focus on opening a secure and practical route. Work He added that work continues with those currently in Iran, as well as their families back home, who are being kept informed of the latest. The embassy has asked those wishing to travel through Turkmenistan to send their personal details using its hotline: +90 539 353 54 03, or via email at ankara. mission@ Kadhem said the response from government departments had been quick and cooperative. Calm and patient He urged families to remain calm and patient while coordination continues. Bahrain's embassies, he added, are still active on both the Iraq and Kuwait fronts as additional overland options.
