Ex Fine Gael council chairman accused of stealing €172k from mental health charity
Sean McKiernan (34) from Virginia Road, Balieborough has been charged with 58 counts of theft
A former Fine Gael chairman of Cavan county council appeared before Trim Circuit court today charged with the theft of €172,000 from a county Meath mental health charity.
Sean McKiernan (34) from Virginia Road, Balieborough has been charged with 58 counts of theft from Navan mental heallh housing association in 2019.
The sums vary between €500 and €7500.
Judge John Martin was told a jury would not be needed for the case.
McKiernan was remanded on continuing bail to appear again on July 4th on which day he is required to enter a plea to the charges.
