Trevor Bauer throws shade at MLB after Pete Rose's reinstatement
Trevor Bauer is yet again asking for another shot in the big leagues after Pete Rose's reinstatement. The controversial former MLB pitcher spoke out on social media on Wednesday, one day after the late Rose was reinstated, continuing his crusade against the league he claims is blackballing him. Advertisement 'So, since Pete is welcome back now, does that go for everyone who has been blackballed?' Bauer wrote on X. 'Or do you actually have to be guilty of something to qualify for that?' The league initially placed Bauer on administrative leave before eventually suspending him for 324 games, later reducing the ban to 194 upon appeal. The 2020 National League Cy Young Award winner can re-sign with a new MLB team, but has yet to catch on with any of the 30 organizations stateside. Former Philadelphia Phillies great Pete Rose acknowledges the crowd during Alumni Day ceremony before a game against the Washington Nationals at Citizens Bank Park in 2022. USA TODAY Sports At the time, the Daily Mail obtained a statement from an MLB spokesperson stating that Bauer is eligible to sign with any of its 30 clubs. 'Trevor Bauer served the entirety of his discipline and is an unrestricted free agent available to sign a contract with any team,' the statement read. Bauer's latest outcry comes a day after Rose, who was placed on the league's permanently ineligible list in August 1989 for gambling on baseball while manager of the Reds, was reinstated by commissioner Rob Manfred. The decision makes Rose, who died in September, eligible to be elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame and will be considered by the Classic Baseball Era Committee in December 2027.

Trevor Bauer
Trevor Bauer is an American baseball player in Major League Baseball for the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he currently plays as a pitcher. Bauer started his career in the MLB nearly a decade ago after a renowned career in college baseball. He started playing in the MLB for the Arizona Diamondbacks for one season before switching to the Cleveland Indians in 2013. From 2019 until 2020, he played for the Cincinnati Reds until coming to the Dodgers for the 2021 season. The success of his MLB career helped lead Bauer to sign a three contract with the Dodgers, widely considered to be one of the best teams in the MLB. Bauer's total career earnings are estimated to be more than $30 million. Initially, Bauer started his baseball career in high school before enrolling at the University of California, Los Angeles. In his sophomore year, UCLA experienced one of their best winning streaks with 22 game victories and topped off the season in 2010 with a College World Series appearance. Bauer's performance helped accelerate his career after college and put him on the radar for top MLB recruiters. Moreover, he ended his college career by winning the National Pitcher of the Year Award. As a result, he was selected in the 2011 MLB Draft for the Diamondbacks and quickly reached the major leagues. Bauer's career includes many highlights and awards, including the Golden Spikes Award in 2011 and the NL Cy Young Award in 2020. In addition, Bauer also had a notable performance in the 2018 MLB All-Star game. However, while playing for the Indians and Reds, Bauer struggled to progress his career and became a free agent in 2020 before signing with the Dodgers. During his first season in LA, Bauer as a pitcher brought in the most strikeout and innings pitched in the league. Yet he was suspended from the MLB following an investigation surrounding sexual assault allegations.

Trevor Bauer wins default judgment in defamation suit vs. sexual assault accuser
Trevor Bauer wins default judgment in defamation suit vs. sexual assault accuser Show Caption Hide Caption Ex-MLB star Trevor Bauer settles sexual assault lawsuit Former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer and Lindsey Hill, who accused him of sexual assault, have settled their lawsuit outside of court. unbranded - Sport A Los Angeles Superior Court judge on Tuesday ordered a woman who accused former MLB pitcher Trevor Bauer of sexual assault to pay the 2020 NL Cy Young award winner more than $300,000 in damages for violating terms of a settlement agreement. Attorneys for Bauer and Lindsey Hill, the woman whose allegations led to an MLB investigation and ultimately Bauer's 192-game suspension, struck a deal two years ago to end their lawsuits against each other. However, Bauer filed a new suit last October, alleging that Hill violated terms of their agreement by claiming multiple times on social media that she did receive financial compensation from him. When Hill failed to contest the new suit, Judge Daniel Crowley ruled in Bauer's favor and ordered her to pay $309,832.02 – $10,000 for each of the 22 alleged violations, plus attorney's fees and interest. After the decision, Hill acknowledged in a post on X that she "refused to participate in this suit in any way shape or form" and will appeal the decision. "He will never see a cent from me," she added. Bauer won the 2020 NL Cy Young award with the Cincinnati Reds and signed a three-year, $102 million free agent contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers the following offseason. However, he was placed on administrative leave in 2021 when allegations of sexual assault from multiple women led to an MLB investigation and an unprecedented 324-game suspension in April 2022. No criminal charges were ever filed. His suspension was later reduced to 194 games, but the Dodgers chose to release him while paying most of the $35.3 million remaining on his contract. Bauer, 34, has since pitched in Japan and Mexico, but has not received any interest from an MLB team, despite a stated willingness to play for the league-minimum salary. Report: Trevor Bauer wins settlement violation suit against accuser
June 3 - A Los Angeles judge ruled on Monday that Lindsey Hill violated the terms of a settlement agreement with former major leaguer Trevor Bauer. As a result, Hill -- who brought sexual assault allegations against the pitcher -- was instructed to pay over $300,000 to Bauer. Major League Baseball suspended Bauer in 2021 after Hill brought forth the allegations. The following year, MLB concluded its investigation and suspended Bauer, a 2020 Cy Young Award winner, for 324 games for sexual misconduct violations. The suspension was later decreased to 194 games. Bauer, 34, sued Hill for defamation, but she countersued for assault and sexual battery. The two sides ultimately settled in 2023, although no money was exchanged between the pair. At the time, Hill's attorneys noted that she would receive a $300,000 insurance payment to go to her law firm. On social media, Hill said that Bauer "handed back an insurance sum to me that was meant for him in order for me to drop my countersuit." Bauer sued Hill again in October 2024, saying she violated the terms of the settlement agreement by saying on a podcast and social media that she received any money from the pitcher. Bauer sought $10,000 for each of the 22 times Hill allegedly violated the agreement along with additional money for attorney fees and interest. That total equated to $309,832.02, which was more than Hill received in the insurance payment. While Hill didn't respond to the court regarding the new lawsuit, the judge originally said in February that Bauer did not have a strong enough case. Two months later, the judge contested the amount that Bauer's team sought in attorney fees. On Monday, with Hill still not responding to the suit, the judge ruled in Bauer's favor and ordered Hill to pay the full amount requested by the pitcher. Bauer was never charged with a crime and has not been picked up by a major league franchise since the Los Angeles Dodgers released him in early 2023. He has since played for Japanese and Mexican clubs. --Field Level Media
