NEW DELHI: Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and founder of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, Tony Blair, called on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at the Delhi Secretariat on Thursday. The meeting was marked by a wide-ranging and meaningful discussion on strengthening democratic institutions, innovation in governance, urban transformation, and education reforms. The chief minister briefed him on the capital's comprehensive development initiatives under the vision of Viksit Delhi. Gupta elaborated on the government's citizen-centric approach to modernising public services, enhancing digital governance, improving education and healthcare systems, empowering women, and advancing environmental sustainability. Blair commended the progressive strides being made in Delhi and expressed keen interest in the capital's reforms in school education, green policy innovations, and the use of digital platforms for public service delivery. He also lauded the Delhi Government's focus on inclusive and technology-driven development. Gupta described the interaction as an enriching exchange of ideas and best practices. She highlighted the importance of learning from global experiences and acknowledged the Tony Blair Institute's role in supporting democratic governance worldwide. She further stated that the Delhi Government and the Institute would explore avenues of collaboration to strengthen governance models and build a future-ready, citizen-first capital city.

VIJAYAWADA: Minister for HRD and IT Nara Lokesh met former British Prime Minister and founder of Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI) Tony Blair in New Delhi on Thursday, and discussed issues related to usage of AI tools in the education system and the Andhra Pradesh government. During the meeting held with Lokesh in Mumbai in July last year, Tony Blair promised to extend cooperation for usage of AI tools in the education, and in the activities of the AP State government through his TBI. Later in December, 2024, the AP Education Department signed an MoU with TBI to improve the job opportunities for youth of the State by implementing modern technology in the education sector. As part of the agreement, TBI deployed its tech team, in Vijayawada with focus on reforms in higher education in AP, and the establishment of Global Institute for Good Governance. Lokesh and Blair, during their meeting in New Delhi discussed the progress of the project after the agreement. They also discussed at length the skill development agenda being implemented in the State, skill census, employment opportunities to youth from AP abroad, and the technological support by TBI. On the occasion, Lokesh invited Blair to join the advisory board of the Global Institute for Good Governance. Blair said TBI will partner with the AP government for the conclave of the education Ministers to be held in Visakhapatnam in August.

New Delhi / Hyderabad: A Letter of Intent was exchanged between the Telangana government and the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBIGC) for partnering in Telangana Rising vision development and its subsequent implementation. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy interacted with former Prime Minister of UK Tony Blair during his visit to Delhi on Thursday. After stepping down from an active public career, Blair has started the TBIGC with the objective of assisting world leaders develop a vision, design strategies and convert them into actionable programmes. During their hour-long interaction, The CM provided details of the key elements of 'Telangana Rising 2047' which will be unveiled publicly on the 2nd anniversary of the State government on December 9, 2025. Revanth Reddy highlighted the priority that will be given to social and economic development of various cross-sections like farmers, youth and women, and the overall improvement of human development indicators. He also highlighted the new concept of micro planning using the lens of core urban, peri-urban and rural zones. Blair appreciated that the entire agenda of development will be achieved through sustainability principles. He took particular interest in flagship initiatives like Bharat Future City, Young India Skills University and Young India Sports University. Minister for Irrigation and Civil Supplies, Uttam Kumar Reddy, MPs Raghuveer Reddy and Mallu Ravi, Advisor to the Government Jitender Reddy, Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan and Secretary (Coordination), Gaurav Uppal were present.

Telangana partners with Tony Blair institute for implementation of Telangana Rising vision

The State Government has entered into a partnership with Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBIGC) for the Telangana Rising vision and its implementation. The TBIGC was started by United Kingdom former Prime Minister Tony Blair with the objective of assisting world leaders develop a vision, design strategies and convert them into actionable programmes. A letter of intent was exchanged between the State Government and TBIGC during a meeting of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy with Mr. Tony Blair in New Delhi on Thursday. During the hour-long interaction, the Chief Minister explained about the key elements of Telangana Rising 2047 that was set to be unveiled on December 9, coinciding with the second anniversary of the Congress Government. He explained that priority would be given to social and economic development of various sections like farmers, youth and women as well as the overall improvement of human development indicators. Mr. Reddy highlighted the new concept of micro-planning using the lens of core urban, peri-urban and rural zones planned as part of Telangana Rising vision. Mr. Blair said that the entire agenda of development would be achieved through sustainability principles. He was particularly keen on knowing about the flagship initiatives like Bharat Future City, Young India Skills University and Young India Sports University.
