It's reckoned Juventus are interested in a £33million deal which would also see a player head the opposite way. Ex-Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz and Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic have both been mentioned. But Tonali is seen as a key player by Eddie Howe, who is unlikely to sanction an exit this summer.

'Sometimes, when I am away from Italy for a long time or during long breaks, I do miss coming home a bit, but I always come back with the national team and I always give my best,' Tonali added. There's a desire to face these ten days as a real team, staying close and trying not to make things harder for ourselves. That's often where the teams struggle, and we're trying to keep things simple.' Tonali won the EFL Cup with his club in March, beating Federico Chiesa's Liverpool in the Final. We weren't the favourites in almost every match, but it was special also because when an unexpected team wins, all eyes turn to them. 'The match is long, 90 minutes is a long time, and both teams will want possession for extended periods. We don't want to let them control the game, and we need to start the match with that mindset. Tonali scored six goals and provided three assists in 45 appearances across all competitions with Newcastle this season.

Tonali scoops Men's Sela Player of the Month award for May

The midfield maestro became an instrumental figure after returning to action in August, helping the Magpies lift domestic silverware for the first time in 70 years alongside securing a top-five finish in the Premier League. His contribution during May included scoring the opener in a crucial win against Chelsea, which would ultimately have a major impact on the race for UEFA Champions League qualification. Advertisement Speaking as the squad celebrated a memorable campaign with a lap of honour at St. James' Park, Tonali told 'It wasn't the best result to finish on, but it was so important to qualify for the Champions League - everyone at the club has earned it this season. 'After the cup win in March, we had three or four days to enjoy the moment with club staff and people in the city, but then we became solely focused on our Champions League ambition. 'We started working towards our own mini league within the overall table and I'm pleased that we have been able to achieve another goal, in addition to lifting the trophy." Ahead of the summer break, World Cup qualifiers await the Italian international who was pleased to round off the domestic season with Sela Player of the Month recognition. Advertisement 'This season, we've secured a top-five place in the most difficult league in the world," he added. "We'll celebrate that achievement together first as everyone at the club has worked so hard for it. 'It's important that we then rest after the international games, have a holiday and be ready to restart the season. 'I'm also really pleased to finish the season with a Sela Player of the Month award, which I dedicate to this amazing team and the amazing people of Newcastle.'

Newcastle transfer implication as Juventus fight for Champions League spot

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juventus will be forced to drop their main transfer targets, Victor Osimhen and Sandro Tonali, if they fail to qualify for the Champions League this season. The race for a Champions League spot in Serie A will likely have transfer consequences for Newcastle United given that one of their stars, Tonali, is a top Juventus target for next summer. Advertisement The Bianconeri lead Roma by just one point in the table, so a win in the season's final game at Venezia would send Igor Tudor's men straight to the 2025-26 Champions League. NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, ENGLAND – MAY 11: Sandro Tonali of Newcastle United celebrates scoring his team's first goal during the Premier League match between Newcastle United FC and Chelsea FC at St James' Park on May 11, 2025 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. (Photo by) Clearly, playing in Europe's elite competition next season would give the Bianconeri a much-needed financial boost, especially ahead of the summer transfer window. Gazzetta insists that Tonali and Osimhen are the main Juventus targets for the summer, although recent reports suggest the Napoli loanee is in talks with Al-Hilal and has rejected an offer from the Old Lady. As for Tonali, Juventus plan to use part of the Champions League revenue to make an offer for the Italian midfielder, but the Bianconeri would also be glad to include Douglas Luiz in the deal. Without Champions League money, Juventus' appeal and budget would naturally decrease, so the Bianconeri would look to Benfica's Florentino Luis as their main midfield target.
