Bluebird Cafe employee debunks alleged Olivia Rodrigo dispute over Taylor Swift photo

The fandoms of Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo are going head-to-head on social media after a video clip of an employee from a famous music venue misspeaking was posted online. "It's developed into this whole monster," Erika Nichols, the general manager of the Bluebird Cafe, tells The Tennessean, part of the USA TODAY Network. The drama stemmed from a video posted to X on June 17. In the video, an employee is seen talking with some influencers about the history of the iconic destination where Swift was discovered in 2004. A photo of the Eras Tour singer on the back stage was from a limited-time exhibition of images by Deone Jahnke in 2008, according to Nichols. Swift also has a dedicated chair and headshot on another wall. this employee at The Bluebird Cafe said Olivia and her team asked them to remove any signs of Taylor Swift before she performed there. — 4x aoty winner (@gotlovesick13) June 18, 2025 Review: Olivia Rodrigo flaunts her sass, sensitivity on GUTS tour In 2023, Rodrigo played a quick afternoon set with Sheryl Crow. The two did an acoustic performance of "If It Makes You Happy." Internet sleuths tracked down the performance and noticed the poster of Swift was gone. When an influencer asked a Bluebird employee about Swift's missing picture, the employee said, "We vowed to remove any visible signs of Taylor Swift," adding, "We gotta respect the girlies." The remarks, which have accumulated more than 5.7 million views, sparked speculation that the photo removal was due to a request from Rodrigo's team ahead of her performance. "The truth of it is Olivia's people did not ask for the Taylor Swift picture to be taken down," Nichols says. "We did not take her headshot off the wall. We did not remove the chair that has her name. You can see on the video of Olivia and Sheryl that we have our Bluebird posters in the background. "This is something we do every time we have a professional filming in here. We're very careful not to use images that we don't have the rights to use. We remove them and put up our posters." Taylor Swift's spokesperson blasts subpoena in Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni case

Taylor Swift's spokesperson blasts subpoena in Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni case It appears Taylor Swift is the subject of a document subpoena in the Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively legal battle. When asked on May 9 about news reports of the court filing, a spokesperson for Swift emphasized the singer's minimal involvement with the pair's film "It Ends With Us." "Given that her involvement was licensing a song for the film, which 19 other artists also did, this document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift's name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case," a spokesperson for Swift said in a statement. Swift's "Folklore" song "My Tears Ricochet" was used in the movie, where the issues between Baldoni and Lively began. Swift and Lively have long been friends. "Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie," her spokesperson said. "She was not involved in any casting or creative decisions. She did not score the film. She never saw an edit or made any notes on the film. She did not even see 'It Ends With Us' until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history." Tension between Lively and Baldoni was rumored during the press tour in August for the blockbuster based on a Colleen Hoover novel. Four months later, The New York Times published a detailed report about Lively's accusations of sexual harassment and retaliation by Baldoni, who starred in and directed the film. Lively said Baldoni hired a crisis communications firm that coordinated a public relations campaign against her. On New Year's Eve, she sued him for sexual harassment. Baldoni then filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, accusing them of defamation and extortion. In his lawsuit, Baldoni mentioned an interaction with Swift when he met with Lively and Reynolds to discuss a scene. According to Baldoni's lawsuit, Reynolds "launched into enthusiastic praise" for a version of the scene written by Lively. Toward the end of the meeting, the lawsuit states, "a famous, and famously close, friend of Reynolds and Lively, walked into the room and similarly began praising Lively's script." A source close to the situation but not authorized to speak publicly confirmed Swift's identity in Baldoni's lawsuit to USA TODAY. In later text messages, Lively referred to her husband and another unnamed person, seemingly Swift, as her "dragons" and "'Dance Moms' level stage moms." The trial is set for March 9, 2026, in Judge Lewis J. Liman's courtroom in the southern district of New York. ‘No Body, No Crime': Taylor Swift fans love photo of Este Haim at Olive Garden

'No Body, No Crime': Taylor Swift fans love photo of Este Haim at Olive Garden She did it… Although it's not Tuesday night, Este Haim posed in front of an Olive Garden as a playful reference to Taylor Swift's song 'No Body, No Crime.' 'Este's a friend of mine,' Swift sings in an art imitating real life moment as all three Haim sisters — Este, Danielle and Alana — are her cohorts, collaborators and contributors. The Haim sisters sing harmonies on the 'Evermore' track. They begin the haunting melody with, 'He did it, he did it.' In the second verse, Swift's line about the endless breadsticks and salad joint is, 'Este wasn't there Tuesday night at Olive Garden, at her job, or anywhere.' The photo appeared on the Haim sister Instagram account among a carousel of images Friday. The caption wished Este 'happy birthday to the best big sister.' Taylor Swift brings a billion dollars of publicity to NFL, according to marketing firm

Taylor Swift brings a billion dollars of publicity to NFL, according to marketing firm Taylor Swift may not be on the NFL payroll or have official football merchandise, but the singer is responsible for bringing a billion dollars' worth of publicity to the sport, according to Apex Marketing. The official number is $992,361,912. Apex Marketing — a 10-year-old firm that provides sponsorship and brand analytics for entertainment and sports venue owners and commercial brands — calculated the billion dollar value by tracking how much Swift was mentioned in the same breath as the NFL. That includes in newspapers, radio stations, television broadcasts and social media posts. "This is just media buzz," says Eric Smallwood, president of Apex. "If you were a brand and you wanted to go and buy media for your product or service, you would have to spend this amount to garner this level of media exposure." Apex studied the media's spotlight on the singer starting with her game day debut on Sept. 24, 2023, when she shocked fans by cheering from an Arrowhead Stadium suite. Special section about Taylor & Travis! "At the time, her concert tour was constantly in the news," Smallwood says. "When she crossed into the world of the NFL and football, a non-Swiftie environment, it cross-pollinated these two entities of sports and entertainment." The timing of the Eras Tour amplified Swift's already blinding media exposure. Articles on whether she would make the trek from her Tokyo concert to the Super Bowl in 2024 saw traffic spikes. Following that game, the superstar brought her record-shattering concert, sometimes with boyfriend in tow, to stops in Asia, Australia and Europe. At every city, handfuls of her concertgoers sported Chiefs merchandise, especially Travis Kelce jerseys. "And it just blows up from there," Smallwood says. "An entity reached out to our company and said, 'What's the value from this period of time?'" His company followed the "Love Story" through this February, with interest heightening around whether Swift would attend the Super Bowl matchup between the Chiefs and Eagles. She did, and the NFL showed her on the broadcast for 10 seconds, exciting Swifties tuned into the broadcast globally and inciting Eagles fans to boo her. Either way, the singer was a topic of conversation in the days following the big game. The Taylor Swift effect? NFL says women make up almost half of audience. "The booing became a discussion that kept the conversation going," Smallwood says. "We've been following the media every day and not just domestically, but internationally. With her, we're seeing a lot of international interest." Media articles may have waned in the past two weeks, but interest lingers as fans wait to see whether Kelce will return to the NFL next year.
