'Impact Makers' launches programmes to provide training in humanitarian and developmental issues

16 June 2025 23:45 DUBAI (WAM)The International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council has launched five programmes designed to train 250 content creators and journalists specialised in humanitarian and developmental comes as part of the Impact Makers initiative, launched by the Council under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs and Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Legacy Humanitarian initiative is implemented in collaboration with the New Media Academy, the first of its kind dedicated to digital media innovation in the Middle East, and a subsidiary of the Visioneers Group, the UAE's largest platform for content management and initiative, set to be implemented this year, aims to train 250 content creators and journalists working in humanitarian journalism who are passionate about producing digital content focused on humanitarian initiatives and training will enhance their capabilities in understanding and writing press releases that reflect humanitarian efforts, mastering various storytelling techniques tailored to different journalistic formats and publication mediums. It will also empower them to deliver meaningful humanitarian content using advanced methods, thus effectively conveying humanitarian messages to broad audiences. The Impact Makers initiative includes several training modules, beginning with the 'Spokesperson Skills, Media Appearance, and Crisis Management in the Media' programme, the 'Humanitarian Impact Journalism' programme, and the 'Humanitarian Impact Content Creators' programme. The last of these will include two versions, one of which will be done in partnership with the Arab Youth Centre.

He noted that the UAE was implementing significant humanitarian initiatives and projects that reflected its leading global remarks came on the launch of the 'Impact Makers' initiative by the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council in cooperation with the New Media initiative comprises several educational programmes and training workshops on digital media content creation with regard to humanitarian and developmental work. The event will take place across the UAE between February 6-15, 2026, and is expected to attract more than 25,000 participants across 33 different sports. These include four traditional Emirati disciplines that honour the cultural legacy of the nation, and 18 sports open to People of Games offer a wide variety of sports suited to all ages and abilities. These include precision events such as archery and shooting, team competitions like football, basketball, volleyball, netball and rugby, as well as individual disciplines including athletics, swimming, cycling, golf, tennis, table tennis, badminton, squash, and sports such as judo, karate, jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai will be featured, along with water events like sailing, kayaking and canoeing, and camel racing. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Erth Zayed Philanthropies, has approved the allocation of Dh100 million from Erth Zayed Philanthropies to the Life Endowment campaign to support individuals in Abu Dhabi with chronic commitment will prioritise support for People of Determination living with chronic illnesses, funding access to treatment, medicines, and other critical health services.H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan said, 'The launch of the Life Endowment campaign reflects the UAE's enduring values of solidarity, social cohesion, and shared responsibility. Rooted in the humanitarian legacy of our Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and guided by the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, this initiative reaffirms the UAE's commitment to respond to needs, build resilience, and empower long-term solutions. Through this endowment, we can offer critical support, upholding the principle that access to care should never be determined by circumstance.''The contribution by Erth Zayed Philanthropies is testament to our leadership's commitment to ensuring inclusive and sustainable healthcare access to everyone, giving them the opportunity to lead healthy, promising lives.'The Life Endowment campaign aims to secure sustainable funding for individuals with chronic illnesses to ensure ongoing access to care. The initiative will fund treatment, essential medicines, and psychological support, while also helping to advance healthcare services and will be disbursed directly to hospitals and healthcare providers to support the treatment of eligible patients, subject to the review of each at maximising social returns through endowment-based financing, the campaign positions healthcare not just as a public service, but as a national priority. It promotes the role of endowments as a model for impactful social investment, reinforcing the UAE's leadership in sustainable philanthropy and inclusive development.
