Another EastEnders exit in early BBC iPlayer streaming release amid Zoe drama

This article contains spoilers for tonight's episode of EastEnders, which airs on BBC One at 7.30pm or can be streamed now on iPlayer. Following on from Zoe Slater's (Michelle Ryan) disappearance, the hunt to track her down has begun. The legendary character made a brief return at the beginning of the week, and it became immediately clear that she had fallen on hard times. She told cousin Stacey (Lacey Turner) and stepfather Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) that she was on the run from Spanish loansharks, but it later transpired that she had been sending threatening messages to herself. Alfie was desperate for her to reconnect with her mum Kat (Jessie Wallace) – and the two women almost came face to face – before she scarpered out of a window. In a later phone call to Stace', she revealed that she had done something 'so bad' that would taint her family's view of her, and for that reason she was having to flee. In today's episode, which can be streamed now, Kat was suspicious of Alfie, who seemed increasingly distracted by some information she isn't privy to. They were meant to be making their marriage official at the registry office, but he rushed off to see Stacey again. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video She revealed that Zoe had taken her credit card and booked a flight to Barcelona, and Alfie decided that they should refrain from cancelling the account and track her movements. That way, they'd be able to find her easier. When he returned back to Walford, Alfie explained to Kat that his brother Spencer (Christopher Parker) is in a bad way, and as a result, he'd have to spend some time in Australia. She couldn't help but feel abandoned, and their sons Tommy (Sonny Kendall), Bert and Ernie, were upset that he was breaking up their family dynamic. After drowning her sorrows in The Vic, and some wise words from unlikely source Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth), Kat returned home and told Alfie that she gave him his blessing to leave. However, she asserted that if he is lying, she'll end the relationship. She then opened up about wanting to reconnect with Zoe, wishing that she was in her life – a statement which left Alfie in a state of surprise and considering whether to come clean. More Trending He told his wife that he was going to be the 'good bloke' that she needed, and give her everything she wants in life. She was completely oblivious that this meant bringing Zoe to Albert Square. After rushing off to their appointment to officiate their wedding, she packed his bags and sent him on his way. Huge fears for EastEnders' Linda as Phil unleashes his rage on Elaine

Linda Carter's (Kellie Bright) wellbeing is the subject of much concern in EastEnders next week as Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) clocks how stressed she is. The landlady of the Queen Vic is forced to pick up the pieces for mum Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe), who is set to make a reckless decision in the wake of her fears about George Knight (Colin Salmon). George, as viewers know, has been keeping secrets from Lainey, such as a secret kiss with his ex Sabrina and his involvement in making her love rival Cindy Beale's (Michelle Collins) opening night a success. With Elaine's head elsewhere, Linda ends up doing the lion's share of the work at The Vic, which leaves Phil incredibly concerned. As a busy night gets underway at the establishment, with Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) and Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan-Levy) among those in attendance, Elaine declares that the prosecco is on the house all night, which leaves Linda utterly reeling. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Phil pops in for a drink with Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) and it doesn't take him long to realise just how much Linda is struggling with the extra workload and therefore he offers her a helping hand. Elaine, meanwhile, offers to book Priya a singles cruise, telling her she can pay her back later. Linda witnesses £5,000 leave the business account and she's utterly horrified. Wasting little time in confronting Elaine, the Carter matriarch demands answers. Elaine, however, is completely indifferent to the situation, dismissing Linda's concerns entirely. The following day, Elaine wakes with a vicious hangover. Linda tries to talk sense into her mum, who once again shuts her down – and refuses to engage with her altogether. Phil continues to worry about Linda, who is quite clearly struggling under the pressure, and therefore he steps in and gives Elaine a piece of his mind, chastising her for treating Linda so carelessly. Left with food for thought, Elaine decides to speak to Linda, who continues to play down her true feelings. And let's just say that she is overwhelmed. More Trending Will Elaine realise that Linda can't do everything on her own? Will she come to realise the error of her ways where Priya is concerned? Linda has been Walford's resident agony aunt over the past few months, always on hand to offer helpful advice to those in need. But can she get the help she needs from those around her? Huge EastEnders twist as George's whereabouts on Christmas finally revealed

The floor falls from beneath Elaine Knight's (Harriet Thorpe) feet in EastEnders next week, as she learns where her husband George (Colin Salmon) ran off to on Christmas Day. As viewers of the BBC soap will remember, every member of the Beale and Knight clans provided an alibi for their whereabouts on the festive evening. That was because wicked Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) had been viciously attacked with a snow shovel, and until February, nobody knew who was responsible. It later transpired that Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth) was the culprit, but that left a lot of questions as to where everyone else was on the fateful night – and whether they were telling the truth. George told his family that he was partaking in an illegal underground boxing match, but also later asked brother Kojo (Dayo Koleosho) to back up his alibi. He then admitted to daughter Gina (Francesca Henry) that he wasn't at the fight. In scenes that air this week, Elaine is left furious when he helps out with Cindy's relaunch of The Prince Albert, and her rival karaoke party flops, and by this time next week, things aren't any better between the couple. Tension is simmering behind the bar at The Vic as she silently fumes over George lending a hand his ex-wife a hand with her re-opening. Elaine decides to show her husband how committed she is to him, and presents a touching gift honouring his boxing past. However, as they relish in happiness, his son Junior (Micah Balfour) storms in and drops a bombshell. At Christmas, George secretly visited his ex Sabrina – Junior's mum. An argument escalates when he admits that Sabrina kissed him, although he pushed her away. Elaine declares that she's had enough and throws him out of the family home. An emotional George heads out to find Junior to vent his frustration, but instead crosses paths with Cindy, who – perhaps conveniently – is there to offer a shoulder to cry on. Later, Elaine tries to make peace and goes looking for George… only to spot him on the balcony of The Albert in a very warm embrace with Cindy. Heartbroken, she retreats to the café to gather herself. But things go from bad to worse when she returns and Felix lets slip that George and Cindy left together. More Trending Believing that he has betrayed her, Elaine decides not to wallow in self pity and calls up someone for for a drink. While she waits, a cheeky punter named Stephen tries his luck, but is quickly brushed to one side by Elaine's old pal Drew Peacock (Paul Clayton), the drag queen who had a secret relationship with her late husband. Drew gives Elaine a much-needed pep talk, reminding her to remain strong and not let Cindy get her down. Boosted by Drew's words, Elaine makes a shocking decision. View More » What does she do?
