Right now, new customers can enjoy £30 in free bets when they sign-up and bet £5 on the Epsom Oaks this week. The Oaks, a distinguished Group 1 flat race for three-year-old fillies, stands as a testament to the rich tradition of British horse racing. Held at Epsom and managed by the Jockey Club, this race spans an arduous distance of one mile, four furlongs, and six yards. Since its first run in 1779, when Bridget claimed victory, The Oaks has firmly established itself as a highlight of the racing calendar. As one of the five annual Classic races, The Oaks holds the honour of being the second oldest, with only the St Leger preceding it. Intriguingly, it predates even the renowned Derby by a year, enhancing its historical significance. The origins of The Oaks trace back to a gathering in 1778 at an estate near Epsom Downs. It was here that the idea for this iconic race was conceived, lending the race its name. Lord Derby, a pivotal figure in racing history who hosted this gathering, also owned Bridget, the filly who won the inaugural race. Throughout its storied history, The Oaks has been the stage for many unforgettable performances. One standout moment came in 2017 when Enable stormed to victory. Her win at The Oaks was just the beginning of an extraordinary career that saw her triumph in other major races such as the Irish Oaks, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, Yorkshire Oaks, and the illustrious Prix De L'Arc de Triomphe. Betfred Epsom Derby Offer: Bet £10 on the Derby and get £50 in free bets
Betfred are offering £50 in bonuses to anyone who signs up for a new account and bets £10 on football this weekend! When it comes to bookmakers, Betfred is one of the most popular in the market, and they offer great value to horse racing fans as the Epsom Derby Festival. This weekend, the historic Epsom Downs will once again be the focal point of the racing world as The Derby, the crown jewel of flat racing, takes centre stage. Since its inception in 1780, this legendary event has enchanted audiences far and wide. The Derby is one of two esteemed Classics taking place over the weekend. It kicks off with The Oaks on Friday, a race for fillies covering a mile and a half, setting the stage for Saturday's main attraction: The Derby. This is where colts compete over the same distance, in a spectacle that consistently garners global attention. The racing season began last month at Newmarket with the 1000 Guineas and 2000 Guineas, which similarly featured separate races for fillies and colts over matching distances. The allure of The Derby is irrefutable, drawing in spectators from across the UK and beyond. Since Diomed's victory in 1780, when he secured £1,065 for Sir Charles Bunbury, the race has soared in both prestige and viewership. This year's victor stands to win a hefty £918,702. With up to 20 horses expected after final declarations on Wednesday, the competition promises to be intense. Delacroix currently heads the betting odds at around 3/1, but Godolphin's entry, trained by Charlie Appleby, is also a formidable contender. Notably, this year lacks a clear frontrunner—a trend seen in recent years. City Of Troy won as a 3/1 favourite last year, while Desert Crown clinched victory at 5/2 odds in 2022. As race day nears, excitement mounts for what is sure to be another exhilarating chapter in The Derby's illustrious history. New customers can sign-up to LiveScore Bet and get £30 in free bets when they bet £10 on the Epsom Oaks this week The Epsom Derby Festival has arrived starting, as ever, with the Oaks and bookies LiveScore Bet is offering new customers £30 in free bets when they sign-up and bet £10 on the Classic race. As the calendar turns towards the Oaks, the anticipation in the world of British horse racing reaches a fever pitch. This revered race, hosted at the legendary Epsom Downs, is a Group 1 flat race exclusively for three-year-old fillies. It challenges both stamina and pace across a formidable distance of one mile, four furlongs, and six yards. Since its inception in 1779 with Bridget's triumph, The Oaks has stood as a pillar of the racing season. This year, Desert Flower is capturing all the buzz. Trained by the adept Charlie Appleby and expertly ridden by William Buick, this filly has captivated audiences with her flawless streak of five victories. Among her impressive achievements are wins at last year's Fillies' Mile and this year's 1000 Guineas, where she left Lake Victoria trailing by more than two lengths. However, the race promises to be anything but predictable. Aiden O'Brien, a stalwart in the racing community, is determined to seize The Oaks title with his strong contenders Whirl and Minnie Hauk.
