Seafood on ice (above) in the international section. Diners in Kuala Lumpur can go on a culinary journey all around Malaysia, thanks to a high-tea buffet in the heart of the city. At The Mesh, Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, City Centre (Four Points KLCC), guests of its 'Jelajah Cita Rasa' afternoon treat will enjoy specialities from all around Malaysia on a rotating basis, alongside buffet staples, comfort foods and scrumptious desserts. 'The buffet brings a new concept focusing on Malaysian cuisine,' said chef Alan Wong. 'Every quarter, two states will be featured, starting from the northern states of Kedah and Penang. 'This rotating concept ensures a fresh, exciting menu for the year, allowing diners to explore the rich culinary heritage of all 14 Malaysian states,' added Wong, who is Four Points KLCC and Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel and Convention Centre multi-property culinary director. Delectable traditional kuih for dessert make up part of the selection at The Mesh's 'Jelajah Cita Rasa' high-tea buffet that highlights dishes from around Malaysia on a rotating basis. The journey begins with a vibrant lineup of appeti­sers including pani puri bursting with tangy spice, chicken tikka salad, earthy black mushroom salad and golden crispy bean curd skin rolls with a refreshing burst of flavour. From the Penang station, there is the state's signature nasi kandar, featuring crowd favourites like ayam goreng rempah, kari bawal mamak and kari sotong. There is also a variety of kerabu (local salad) such as kerabu daging kerisik, kerabu udang Seri Melayu and kerabu betik udang kering, as well as the beloved Penang pai tee, each delivering a mix of textures and tang. The buffet also features comfort foods like spicy-and-sour soup, creamy pumpkin soup, hearty seafood porridge and an inviting selection of freshly baked breads. The international section includes fresh sashimi, creamy pasta and seafood on ice. According to Wong, the northern Malaysian dishes are crafted with a lighter use of spices to enable more diners to enjoy them. To end the meal, diners can enjoy Ipoh's signature white coffee creme brulee, available alongside a selection of traditional Malaysian kuih. 'The Ipoh white coffee creme brulee leaves an unforgettable impression,' Wong said. 'Jelajah Cita Rasa' high-tea buffet, priced at RM158nett per adult and RM79nett per child, is served on Satur­days and Sundays, from 12.30pm to 3pm.
