Trace Cyrus Blasts 'Evil' Dad Billy Ray Cyrus For Skipping Grandmother's Funeral

Trace Cyrus, the son of country musician Billy Ray Cyrus, continues to hint at family discord even as his father appears to be happily in the throes of a new relationship. On Tuesday, Trace Cyrus shared an Instagram post in which he accused the two-time Grammy winner of skipping his maternal grandmother's funeral. 'This man is so hungry for fame it's pathetic,' he wrote alongside a photo of Billy Ray Cyrus. 'He really flew to Italy for a fashion show but wouldn't come to LA for Mammie's funeral while he was still married to my mom. Even after his daughter got him a 60k private jet like he demanded then he still didn't come after the plane was paid for.' Addressing his dad directly, Trace Cyrus added: 'You're the lamest man to ever walk the planet earth. Honestly embarrassed to ever have considered you my idol. The best thing to come from your downfall is it made me go into beast mode. I refuse to be a washed up, delusional, evil person when I'm old like you.' A representative for Billy Ray Cyrus declined comment on Trace Cyrus' remarks. In addition to Trace Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus shares four more children ― including daughters Miley and Noah Cyrus ― with ex-wife Tish Cyrus. Tish Cyrus' mother, Loretta Finley, died in 2020 at age 85, according to USA Today. Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus divorced in 2022 after 28 years of marriage. Trace Cyrus, who is also a musician, has hinted at an estrangement from his father on numerous occasions. In January, he urged Billy Ray Cyrus to seek help via an open letter on Instagram in response to his dad's shaky performance at President Donald Trump's inaugural festivities that month. 'We are all hanging on to memories of the man we once knew & hoping for the day he returns,' he wrote at the time. 'You're not healthy Dad & everyone is noticing it.' Trace Cyrus' post comes just days after Miley Cyrus shrugged off rumors of a strained relationship with her dad while appearing on The New York Times' 'The Interview' podcast. 'As I've gotten older, I'm respecting my parents as individuals instead of as parents — because my mom really loved my dad for her whole life,' she explained. 'And I think being married to someone in the music industry and not being a part of it is, obviously, really hard.' These days, Billy Ray Cyrus appears to be enjoying his time with girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley nearly two months after hard-launching their romance on social media. On Tuesday, the musician acknowledged Hurley's 60th birthday with a heartfelt post on Instagram, writing: 'Happy birthday to the love of my life.' Miley Cyrus Wears Completely Sheer Dress and Black Underwear in NYC

Miley Cyrus is busy promoting her new album, Something Beautiful, and took a moment to sign autographs for a group of fans waiting outside her hotel. Her outfit? An entirely sheer Ludovic de Saint Sernin black dress, which she paired with sunglasses and a pair of black underwear. No one has ever looked better, fact. Miley's outing comes amid her opening up about where things stand with her parents amid their ongoing (and often messy) family feud. Speaking on The New York Times' The Interview podcast, Miley said that she "took on some of [her] mom's hurt" during Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus' divorce in 2022, but that now she feels like her "adult self has caught up." She added, "My mom is like so in love with my stepdad Dom, who I also just completely adore. And now that my dad, I see him finding happiness outside of that too, I can love them both as individuals instead of as a kind of, you know, a parental pairing." And of seeing her parents dating other people, Miley noted "At first, it's hard. The little kid in you reacts before the adult in you and go, 'Yes, that's your dad, but that's just another person that deserves to be in his bliss and be happy.'" FYI, Miley confirmed that she and Billy Ray had ended their feud back in May, saying 'My dad and I have had our challenges over the years. Now, in my thirties, family is my priority above all else. I'm at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing. Grateful for the good health and love that flows through my family.'

Miley Cyrus reveals why she felt ‘really well prepared' for fame when she was cast as Hannah Montana

Bang Showbiz | Los Angeles Miley Cyrus felt 'really well prepared' for fame. The 32-year-old pop star found major success in her teenage years when she was cast in the title role of the Disney Channel sitcom 'Hannah Montana', but as the daughter of 'Achy Breaky Heart' hitmaker Billy Ray Cyrus and goddaughter of country legend Dolly Parton, she insisted that she has always had an 'understanding' of the how the business of celebrity works in a way that perhaps someone else would not. Speaking on The New York Times 'The Interview' podcast, she explained: 'I've known fame since the moment I was born, I've never known anything else so I was really well prepared in a way that really hard to train yourself to know what to expect on everything that fame can bring. 'But I already had the handbook because they did the same thing to my dad, and to Dolly and to everyone around me. Dolly is a great example of that, so I felt know what I think it is? I understand the business I'm in. I am in the music industry, I'm in the record business. 'When I sign a contract, they're buying records that they wish to sell, so I understand that I am setting myself up to become merchandise. 'I am committing to them that I not only want to bring success to myself, but to them also. So I understand the music industry.' The 'Easy Lover' songstress - who has just released her ninth studio album 'Something Beautiful' - only received her first Grammy Award in 2024 for her hit song 'Flowers' and had spent years wondering what she had to do to get that sort of recognition but, prior to her win, had decided that the 'validation' she craved came from her millions of fans around the globe instead. She said: 'There were other Disney artists who dominated in those categories. I don't know who else before that, but there was The Jonas Brothers. It was boys, so they didn't have a character to shed, but because I wore a wig and I was a pop star...I remember being broken-hearted because The Jonas Brothers got asked to perform with Stevie Wonder, and I never got an opportunity like that as a young girl.

Miley Cyrus felt like a misfit at Met Gala

Miley Cyrus felt like a "misfit" at this year's Met Gala. The 'Flowers' hitmaker - who wore an Alaïa custom leather crop top and floor-length skirt accessorised with Cartier diamonds for her first appearance at the annual fashion extravaganza since 2019 - was seated with "strangers" during the dinner portion of the event and although she is "fine" with that, she admitted she felt out of her comfort zone. Speaking on 'The Interview' podcast, she said: 'I'm sitting with strangers. "I sat this year with Cartier. I was wearing Alaïa—who does not have a table—so I was kind of the misfit, which I'm always OK with. 'I'm used to that, it was fine, but it's just an interesting situation because everything that makes you comfortable is taken from you.' Miley offered a suggestion to Met Gala organisers for the future. She said: "I think they should add that you get a plus one for your stylist... "I sat with a bunch of people that I didn't really know, but I always make friends there." The 32-year-old star quickly bonded with singer Jon Batiste. She said: "I thought he was so cool. He was my most memorable guest, I sat and talked to him forever, he's super awesome. "He like sat down and the first thing he asked me was, 'What's your favourite key to sing in?' Which no one's ever asked me before. 'He goes, 'I'm guessing it's a G or a C, but I think F would probably be your ceiling.' Right away, I'm like, 'You're my friend.'' 'He was right—G and C.' Meanwhile, Miley has ruled out following other famous faces and launching her own make-up line because it isn't her passion. She told the New York Times: "I was talking to my stepdad and he was like 'Why are you the only celebrity without a make-up line?' and I said 'Because I'm not passionate about it'. And he said, 'That's the right answer.'" In fact, when the 'Easy Lover' hitmaker - who has just released her ninth studio album 'Something Beautiful' - doesn't even wear make-up when she is at home and insisted that her own "persona" is very different to how the public sees her. She said: "I don't think it's so much of a conscious choice. My persona or the public's idea of me is on in some way but in my own time, I am very off. "I like no make-up, my hair up messy. I don't even look in the mirror in my own time. "

Miley Cyrus felt like a ‘misfit' at 2025 Met Gala

The singer has admitted that she felt out of place at the star-studded fashion event because she wasn't part of a group representing a particular designer. Miley explained on the latest episode of The New York Times podcast The Interview, "I was wearing Alaïa - who does not have a table - so I was kind of the misfit, which I'm always OK with." The Flowers hitmaker added that she is no stranger to feeling uncomfortable, saying, "I'm used to that, it was fine, but it's just an interesting situation because…'
