Marvel Adds Possible Fourth Movie to 2028 Slate

Yara Sameh Disney announced on Wednesday that Marvel Studios is scheduled to release an untitled movie on December 15, 2028. It would be the fourth movie from the division set for that calendar year, with previously announced films scheduled for release in February, May, and November of 2028. Should all four films hold onto those dates — which is not nearly certain — it would be an unexpected move for the studio, given Disney CEO Bob Iger's recent public admission that Marvel 'lost a little focus by making too much.' 'We all know that in our zeal to flood our streaming platform with more content, that we turned to all of our creative engines, including Marvel, and had them produce a lot more,' Iger said during an investor call in May. 'We've also learned over time that quantity does not necessarily beget quality. And frankly, we've all admitted to ourselves that we lost a little focus by making too much. By consolidating a bit and having Marvel focus much more on their films, we believe that will result in better quality.' It is quite unclear, however, whether Marvel will release four films in 2028. Disney has a history of holding onto release dates for feature projects well past when those films could realistically make those dates to ensure they remain available for other films from the company: Marvel's 'Blade' was removed from its November 2025 release date only after Disney was ready to slot the 20th Century Studios film 'Predator: Badlands' in its place. For 2026 and 2027, Marvel has significantly winnowed its feature slate. After 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' opens in July, the studio is producing two films in 2026 — 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' (a co-production with Sony Pictures) in July and 'Avengers: Doomsday' in December; and two films in 2027 — an untitled project in July and 'Avengers: Secret Wars' in December. 'Secret Wars' is meant to be the finale of the Multiverse Saga, after which Marvel is expected to pivot to a saga centered around characters inherited in Disney's 2019 acquisition of 20th Century Fox: the X-Men. 'Thunderbolts*' director Jake Schreier has been tapped to helm the MCU's first mutant movie (although many actors from Fox's 'X-Men' movies in the 2000s, including Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart, will appear in 'Doomsday'). Other Marvel projects in development that could wind up opening in 2028 include the aforementioned 'Blade,' 'Black Panther 3,' and a 'Fantastic Four' sequel. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand

Fantastic Four: A Rock Named Jennifer Replaced The Thing on First Steps' Set

had a rock named Jennifer used as a stand-in for The Thing. The upcoming Marvel Studios production is one of the most anticipated movies of 2025. Directed by Matt Shakman, the movie features Bachrach alongside Joseph Quinn, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, and many more. Matt Shakman recently sat down for a conversation and revealed that they used a rock they named Jennifer as a stand-in for The Thing on The Fantastic Four: First Steps' set. The makers used CGI and performance capture on Ebon Moss-Bachrach to bring the Thing to life on-screen. However, the rock named Jennifer also aided them in the process. Recounting the process, the director told Empire, 'We went out to the desert and found a rock that looked exactly how we thought The Thing should look, and we filmed it in every single shot that The Thing appears in in the movie, under every lighting environment.' Moreover, Ebon Moss-Bachrach chimed in to express his thoughts on his character, the Thing, AKA Ben Grimm's presentation on screen. He conveyed, 'It's a little bit heady to think about all the hundreds of people that are helping animate this character. I just had faith that they would make my performance so much cooler. I'm very, very happy with the way Ben looks.' Additionally, The Punisher star asserted that he felt connected to the Thing, as he hails from New York as well. He further spoke of The Fantastic Four character's association with creator Jack Kirby. Moss-Bachrach said, 'He's a Lower East Side guy. A lot of this character was a homage to his father, and that, to me, is very meaningful.' Meanwhile, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is all set to come to theaters next month on July 25. Vanessa Kirby Is Expecting Her First Baby

Vanessa Kirby is currently gearing up for The Fantastic Four: First Steps' July release, while also preparing to welcome her first child into the world. The 37-year-old actress confirmed that she is pregnant at a recent event promoting First Steps. Vanessa Kirby confirmed her pregnancy while attending The Fantastic Four: First Steps panel at the CCXPMX Film Festival in Mexico City on May 31, 2025. The Mission: Impossible actress' baby bump could be seen in pictures of her taken at the event. For the event, Kirby donned a shiny blue Schiaparelli dress and black sandals. However, further details about the actress' pregnancy are unknown. This is because neither the actress nor her representatives have shared more information about it as of this writing. Interestingly, Kirby's real-life pregnancy imitates her reel-life pregnancy in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. In the film, Kirby's Sue Storm will be shown pregnant with her and Pedro Pascal's Reed Richards' son Franklin Richards. Kirby is currently romantically involved with Paul Rabil, a retired lacrosse player. The pair's dating rumors started surfacing in October 2022, following a New York City outing. Rabil eventually confirmed their relationship via Instagram in November 2023. He shared a series of photos accompanied by a heartwarming caption. The caption read, 'from the very minute we first met in des moines, around the world and back, life is far better, more purposeful and more beautiful with you.' Later, in December 2024, Page Six reported that the couple had gotten engaged. However, neither Kirby nor Rabil has confirmed their engagement. Recently, in April 2025, Kirby shared a series of photos on Instagram documenting her romantic vacation in the West Indies alongside Rabil. She captioned the post, 'What a beautiful time away to stop for a second to appreciate the people you most love.' After July 2025's The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Kirby's Invisible Woman will be seen in 2026's Avengers: Doomsday. Originally reported by Abdul Azim Naushad on ComingSoon. Vanessa Kirby is pregnant with her first child

Vanessa Kirby is pregnant. The 38-year-old actress revealed that she is expecting her first child as she showed off a baby bump during a photocall for her new movie 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' at the Comic Con Experience Mexico on Saturday (31.05.25). Vanessa is said to have got engaged to her partner Paul Rabil last December after he popped the question after two years of dating, according to the New York Post's Page Six column. The pair were first spotted together in New York City in October 2022 and made their romance Instagram official the following year. Paul, the President of the Premier Lacrosse League, captioned a carousel of Instagram images: "from the very minute we first met in des moines, around the world and back, life is far better, more purposeful and more beautiful with you (sic)' Before finding love with Paul, Vanessa dated actor Callum Turner for four years but revealed that she chose to keep the relationship private as people weren't interested in the details. 'The Crown' actress said in 2018: "I keep my relationship super private. "He is just completely wonderful and he's my best friend, so that's ... I guess you can either choose to talk about it or not. If you talk about it, it becomes interesting to people, but if you don't, then it's not." Vanessa portrayed Princess Margaret in the first two seasons of the Netflix drama about the British royal family but feared that she was "finished" after playing a part that seemed over-the-top in comparison to Claire Foy's Queen Elizabeth. She told The Times newspaper: "Claire is the master of subtlety and I'd be sitting across from her in those scenes with tears coming out, smoking cigarettes, my nose running and I'm shouting in her face. "And I remember thinking, 'Oh my God. This could be the most pantomime thing I've ever done. I'm going to be finished after this.'" However, she has since embarked on a career in blockbuster movies - such as 'Mission: Impossible - Fallout' - and explained that she is drawn to playing "strange" characters. Kirby said: "Strange. That's the biggest compliment you could give me: strange. I just love playing strange; the stranger the better.'
