A Third, Larger Tesla Model Y Variant Could Debut This Year

We've been waiting a long time for more affordable Teslas, but it seems that the automaker is now looking in the opposite direction. The low-cost Model Y has been delayed, but according to a post on X, Tesla may be on the verge of launching a new variant with more luxurious seating for adults. According to the tweet posted by hacking engineer @greentheonly, a six-seater Model Y has been revealed in firmware, and the code hints that it may be offered globally, not just in China. The Model Y's 2025.20 update references the six-seater, and with Chinese buyers prioritizing rear legroom, it's no wonder that rumors of such a vehicle have been circulating for a while. Since the code was found in a domestic Model Y, it may not be exclusive to China, so if it comes here, what can we expect? The prevalent theory is that the wheelbase will be extended to accommodate captain's chairs in the middle row, and possibly by as much as 5.9 inches. As Not A Tesla App points out, a 2+2+2 layout would not only be logical, but would also provide reasonable room in the third row. Since the Model X doesn't get armrests with its six-seater configuration, it's unlikely that the cheaper Model Y will, although the option will add thousands to the $46,000 base price. The 2+2+2 layout would allow Tesla to fit a center console in the second row, which should further enhance the feeling of luxury, but will buyers be willing to shell out extra for a car that looks almost identical from the outside? That remains to be seen, but Tesla may begin to border on oversaturation of the model if there aren't enough differences. A seven-seater Model Y is also on the way with an almost useless third row (at least for the average adult), and one can't help but wonder if these new seating layouts are a lackluster attempt at boosting sales of a car that was once the best-selling on the planet but is now seeing a decline in popularity. Until we see the new Model Y variants later this year (assuming the self-imposed timeline is adhered to), we can't pass fair judgment. Rivian Offers Tantalizing R1T Lease Offer for June

The 2025 Rivian R1T is the first modern, mass-produced electric pickup truck, and it's easily the best-looking in its class. It comes standard with a Dual-Motor powertrain rated at 553 horsepower and 610 pound-feet of torque. The Dual-Motor Performance Upgrade ups the ante to 665 horsepower and 829 pound-feet of torque, while the Tri-Motor model is even stronger, with 850 horsepower and 1,103 lb.-ft. of torque. As you might expect, the Quad-Motor powertrain is the he-man here, with 1,025 horsepower and 1,198 pound-feet of torque. The Rivian R1T carries up to 1,764 pounds and tows up to 11,000 pounds. Depending on motor configuration and battery pack size, you'll be able to travel anywhere from 258 miles to 420 on a single charge, according to the EPA. If all that sounds like something you'd want in your driveway, now might be an ideal time to lease one. Rivian's "Summer Adventure Offer" applies to the R1T Dual-Motor model with the Performance Upgrade and large battery pack, and you'll be treated to $5,000 in down payment assistance and a $7,500 EV lease credit. Prefer the new Tri-Motor model or the hot new California Dune Edition, which wears a sublime paint job and gets standard off-road gear? You'll receive the same $5,000 down payment assist in addition to a $7,500 EV lease credit. Other models leased online receive an immediate $7,500 EV Tax Credit. All offers are good through June 30, 2025. Keep in mind that, when leasing, you should consider the monthly payment cost, taxes, and fees before signing. Lease offers vary by metro market. Check your local pricing here. While the 2025 Rivian R1T benefits from product updates, like an updated user interface and revised electrical architecture that sheds some heft, its design retains its allure, playing the part of an outdoors sophisticate. Clever touches, such as the cargo compartment that spans the width of the vehicle at the back of the cab, only make it more alluring. In a sea of Detroit pickup sameness, the Rivian R1T is a fresh take on a well-known form, minus the political hassle that now accompanies Tesla Cybertruck ownership. *Disclaimer: This article is provided for informational purposes only. 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X Gallery

It's the mind-bending power and performance figures of the Chevrolet Corvette ZRX1 that have made the headlines over the last few days, and rightly so, but let's not take away the fact that it's also got the visual punch to back up its hypercar-level speed. Here's a look at the newest Corvette from every angle. The exterior of the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X is seen here black, with a red center stripe and the ZTK Performance Package. From above, we can see the aggressive hood and the large rear wing. The various aerodynamic enhancements to this model create 1,200 lbs of downforce. The Corvette is nearly as mean to look at without the rear wing. This example is finished in Blade Silver Metallic, but buyers can also get the car in eye-popping shades like Sebring Orange and Competition Yellow. A quad-exit exhaust system peaks out of the back. While it makes a stunning noise at full throttle, an electric-only Stealth Mode enables driving on electric power alone at up to 45 mph, but only for 4 to 5 miles. Massive performance means massive breaks, and the ZRX1 boasts 10-piston front calipers and six-piston items at the back. The carbon ceramic rotors measure 16.5 inches, now the biggest ever fitted to a Corvette. The flow-through hood assists with optimal airflow, while the front splitter and underwing creates suction under the car to improve downforce and lower drag. A very special engine powers this Corvette. The 5.5-liter flat-plane crank V8 is boosted by two 76mm turbos. This, together with a front-axle electric motor, develops 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft combined. The 0-60 time is under two seconds, and the manufacturer estimates a quarter-mile sprint of below nine seconds. The basic layout of the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZRX1's interior will be familiar to those who have driven other Corvettes. A new three-screen layout and updated center console form part of the changes. Even the base 1LZ gets eight-way power-adjustable GT1 or Competition sports seats. If you go for the 3LZ, expect heated and ventilated Nappa leather seats. High-quality leather and stitching are everywhere, and there's a Bose sound system with between 10 and 14 speakers, depending on the trim. The center section features glossy carbon fiber trim, dual cupholders, and a wireless charging pad. As with the exterior, the interior is highly customizable. There are at least 20 different color combinations, including the Adrenaline Red seen here. Customers can obtain plenty of information from the ZR1X's Performance App, including tire temperatures and horsepower/torque over specific time intervals. Copyright 2025 The Arena Group, Inc. Lucid Air Just Got a Little Better

One of the most clamored-for functions on the Lucid Air has finally arrived: Android Auto connectivity. The automaker announced on June 16, 2025, that a simple over-the-air update to Lucid OS 2.7.0 will bring the "Android Auto Smart Driving Companion Application" to all Lucid Air vehicles. If you own a phone with Android 11 or higher, you can benefit from Wireless Android Auto, whereas those with a phone on Android 9 or 10 must use a compatible USB cable. Without Android Auto, owners would have to link their Spotify account directly to the car or rely on plain ol' Bluetooth for their tunes. The latter would still be required for phone calls, though. That wouldn't have been a massive issue, at least for me, if the Spotify connection wasn't spotty on my review car and/or if Bluetooth audio was compatible with album cover art. Much like my press car, however, those issues are now gone, and we can bathe in the glory of Android Auto. "Android Auto is one of the most requested features by Lucid owners, and we are delighted to announce that we have begun rolling out a software update to add this capability," said Dr. Jean-Philippe Gauthier, Head of Software Engineering for Lucid. "Android Auto with Lucid Air's expansive 34-inch Glass Cockpit builds upon our commitment to compromising nothing by enhancing comfort and convenience for owners." The Lucid Air EV sedan comes in four flavors, ranging from the $69,900 base level Pure to the utterly ludicrous $249,000 Sapphire. The Pure gets by with plenty of power, up to 430 hp and a 0-60 mph figure of 4.5 seconds. It even has an estimated range of 420 miles and a 17-minute charge time to 200 miles. The Sapphire, on the other hand, gets 1,234 hp and a 0-60 mph time of 1.89 seconds. The range for that model comes in at 427 miles with a 15-minute charge time to 200 miles. One step down from that is the $110,900 Grand Touring, which is more likely the one most people would get. That one has 819 hp, a 0-60 mph time of 3 seconds, 512 miles of range, and a 12-minute charge time to 200 miles. The Lucid Air was already a tremendous vehicle for the money, but adding Android Auto is the cherry on top of the sundae. According to the same Lucid press release, Android Auto connectivity for the automaker's new Gravity SUV is also on the way. That gives us even more reasons to celebrate. Bentley Continental GT Prototype Heralds The Return of the Supersports

When one thinks of the Flying B's contemporary wares, there's never any shortage of horsepower, but the racing pedigree that made the brand so successful at the start of the 20th century is a second thought to supreme serenity. Indeed, a Bentley is an ultra-luxurious machine first and foremost, but even among buyers who can tell what forest their wood trim came from just by the grain, there is always a small group of individuals who are bored by opulence alone, seeking to push the limits of performance beyond what their peers think is reasonable. In the 1920s, the Bentley Boys personified this attitude of extremism. In the 2020s, those who choose to get behind the wheel of the monster Bentley is now testing at the Nürburgring will be stealing stares and grabbing glances. Based on the Continental GT Speed, this prototype captured by our spies is preparing to become the most hardcore Bentley yet. Unlike the regular GT Speed, this prototype has a large spoiler on the trunk and aggressive canards on the front end, and such aggressive bodywork has previously characterized the Supersports. Until the 2017 Supersports, the aesthetic changes were always subtle, but Bentley went hardcore with a vented hood, more aggressive front and rear ends, and a sizable wing on the trunk. It's unclear if this prototype will swap its spoiler for a wing at a later stage, but then again, this may not even be the most aggressive Continental in the Bentley pipeline; previous Supersports variants have arrived at the end of the life cycle, not near the start, so this may well be a hotter Continental, but not necessarily the hottest. That said, the sinister taillights and quad tailpipes are signature styling characteristics of the Supersports. Our spies have also floated the idea of this being named the Continental GT Speed RS. The wheels on this prototype appear to be fairly vanilla, but other sightings of this hardcore Bentley have shown a more intricate, aggressive dual-five-spoke design. Nevertheless, the Pirelli P Zero tires and large brakes suggest this won't just be an appearance package; we expect more power. The current Continental GT Speed's twin-turbo V8 hybrid delivers a combined 771 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, so a figure close to or just beyond 800 hp seems reasonable. After all, the last GT Supersports had 79 more horsepower than the car upon which it was based. As we touched on earlier, the current Continental GT Speed has only been around a little more than a year (and this is our first sighting of the sportier special edition), so we doubt this hardcore version, whatever name it bears, will be revealed before the end of the year.
