'Perfect for festival' Amazon tent reduced in time for Glastonbury

Glastonbury Festival starts in a few days and this tent is said to be 'easy to put up and take down', making it ideal for summer events Amazon shoppers are flocking to buy a tent that's 'perfect' for festivals in the run-up to Glastonbury. The Amazon Basics Dome Camping Tent would usually be £56.99 but has dropped down to £39.99 in a limited time deal. Glastonbury kicks off this coming Wednesday, June 25, and for festival-goers who are yet to source their camp set-up, Amazon's next-day delivery could be a last-minute solution. The tent is water resistant with inverted seams to prevent rain from getting through. It's described as easy to put up and take down, a must for many in festival environments. It comes in a few sizes, starting with a spacious two-man tent. For those looking for something a little more spacious, the Eurohike Sendero 4 Family Tent is currently reduced from £300 to £104 with room for four people to sleep as well as having space for bags. Halfords also has a massive eight person tent, but at £185 it's not the most budget-friendly option on the market. The Amazon Basics tent has brought in over 2000 five-star ratings on the shopping giant. One shopper was thrilled with how easy it was to put together, and said: "This was so quick and easy to put up and take down, and it all fit back in the very compact bag without too much of a struggle. "In our case, it was, literally, child's work, as the 12-year olds put it up and took it down themselves, only needed help when folding it back up in the right shape to fit in the bag. (The bag is a rectangle with two handles, which is not suitable for carrying long distances.) "Four youngsters fit comfortably inside, four fully grown adults would be ok if the gear is left elsewhere. We were lucky with the weather, so we can't assess the water tightness, though it looks like it would do fine if properly assembled. "It can get hot inside in the sun, but the open mesh all around helps a lot with ventilation, and the waterproof rainfly is completely removable for complete air circulation. Good quality for money, surpassed expectations, and super quick delivery." Another was thrilled, saying: "I took this tent to the Download Festival 2022 for 5 nights camping. It was easy to put up (I had a practice run at home to make sure it was ok) and was pretty easy to pack up. "The groundsheet of the tent seemed a little thin, but no tears on this occasion. Double layer means you don't have to worry about ingress of water, which was great. "Yes, I was happy with this, surprised I didn't see another one there. The value was great." It is worth noting that some shoppers were disappointed by the insulation in the tent, with one writing: "Great cheap tent but not for any Cold nights, I used this in summer when it was 10 degrees at night and not windy and we were freezing. "Two of the side panels are mesh, so very breezy - great for a hot summer night but wouldn't advise using beyond that. If you're looking for a cheap tent for camping with friends and nothing heavy duty, then this is perfect." It does seem that those who have bought the tent with a festival in mind have been quite impressed, another shopper said: " Perfect for camping/festivals / beach, etc comes with a storage bag to store the tent in after use. "The tent has plenty of ventilation options to help prevent it from getting to warm inside so allowing you to easily create a comfortable environment inside. Overall, a very well-made four-person tent which is generous inside, provides more than enough protection against most of the elements, easy to put up and great value for money suitable for all kinds of outdoor activities." The Amazon Basics Dome Camping Tent with Rainfly and Carry Bag is now available for £39.99.

Festival and camping tent that stood 'everything thrown at it' is now £146 off

As summer rapidly approaches, festival season is just on the horizon. From the iconic fields of Glastonbury to the power-packed line-ups at Download, fortunate ticket holders across the UK are preparing for weekends filled with positive energy, live music, and hopefully, afternoons bathed in sunshine with a beverage in hand. Whether you're headbanging to heavy metal or absorbing indie tunes, one thing is certain - a robust camping setup is crucial for enduring multi-day events. Most festival-goers will require a dependable tent for their weekend abode, and while quality equipment can be pricey, outdoor brand Tiso has unveiled a fantastic deal that makes upgrading a tad easier. The Phoxx II v2 2-Person Tent is now available for £84, down from £230, offering a substantial saving of £146. Crafted with pre-angled poles for additional internal space, this sturdy tent comfortably accommodates two people and even boasts a porch area - perfect for keeping muddy boots separate from your sleeping quarters. Festival-friendly extras include internal storage pockets for easy access to essentials, lantern hanging points, and a fully waterproof groundsheet and flysheet designed to withstand typical British rain showers. Even better, pitching takes approximately seven minutes, allowing you to spend more time enjoying the music rather than struggling with tent poles. However, if you need something larger for a big group, there are plenty of options. Mountain Warehouse's 6-person design, currently £159.99 from £259.99, features a dome style with ample ventilation and flysheet doors. Otherwise, Decathlon has this inflatable option for eight people. At £999.99, it's expensive, but it's super easy to set up and has a spacious living area and three bedrooms. Festival-goers starting anew with their camping gear might want to check out Tiso's extensive array of auxiliary camping items, such as this cosy down-filled sleeping bag, now discounted to £186 from £260, and airbeds that promise a warm snuggle during chilly nights. For added comfort, shoppers might consider camping furniture. A nifty collapsible camping chair with a built-in drinks holder, a steal at only £10. Returning to the Phoxx II v2 2-Person Tent, reactions have been solid; one user enthused that the tent 'hasn't let them down yet' while another commented that it 'fits two people snugly. ' An individual shared their experience, highlighting, "Tried it last night for the first time. Easy to erect. Lightweight and compact and very well made." And for lone campers, there's good news from Tiso, who've reduced the Phoxx I v2 1-Person Tent to £70, down from £165. It has similar features, including water resistance, astute storage, and speedy setup, but it adopts a more compact tunnel shape, requiring a bit of a squeeze to enter. One reviewer remarked: "I bought this for my daughter as we're planning a bikepacking trip. Space is tight, but it feels robust, and it's light and compact enough to fit in a handlebar bag." However, not everyone was taken with it. One review stated: "Tiny! I can't sit inside (I'm just 5'3"), which makes it impractical for changing clothes and doing tick checks. It's more of a shelter/bivvy rather than a tent. It's very discreet in the wild, though."

Promotions and products are subject to availability and retailer terms. Getting into camping can be overwhelming. There's a lot of equipment, plus the idea of living among flies and raccoons can be scary for some. But that doesn't mean it isn't worth it. Ditching the electronics, pitching a tent and car camping at a provincial park or privately owned site can be one of summer's greatest pleasures. If you want to take the plunge and book a site, here are a few things you'll need. Coleman Skydome Camping Tent If you want a reliable tent that's spacious and easy to set up, the Skydome is perfect for couples or families with small children. It sleeps three adults comfortably (despite it being for six people) and has a fly for easy air circulation. The zipper can get stuck on the front rain flap so you'll need to be careful when opening, but this is a model our family has used for years. $209.99 on Amazon Story continues below advertisement Woods Viand Stainless Steel Camping Pot Set You'll need cookware to whip up your camping feasts, and we're fans of this five-piece set from Woods. The entire kit stacks into itself and comes with a convenient carrying case that's a breeze to grab from the car as needed. It includes three sized pots and a nonstick pan with a detachable handle that's ideal for use on portable burners. $99.93 at Canadian Tire Black Diamond Spot 400-R Headlamp Flashlights are great for helping light the way once the sun goes down, but they can be incredibly inconvenient to carry. We prefer headlamps instead, since they light up your space but keep hands free for other tasks. This headlamp comes equipped with a PowerTap feature on the housing that takes you from any brightness mode to full power with a single tap. It's also lightweight and adjustable, two important considerations when picking out headgear. $79.95 at MEC Coleman 316 Series 62-Qt Insulated Portable Cooler If you don't have a cooler, definitely invest in one for camping. We like this model because it keeps ice for up to five days, features wheels for easy mobility, and doubles as an extra seat when you need it most. It's also relatively affordable compared to some of the trendier models out there, and our original Coleman cooler has lasted us for years. $112.99 on Amazon (was $161.02) $112.98 at Walmart Story continues below advertisement Arcturus Military Wool Blanket Odds are you have tons of blankets hanging around the house, but if you're getting into camping, invest in a good wool blanket. You never know when the temperature is going to drop or if you'll need a barrier between your sleeping bag and your air mattress. We also prefer wool by the fire, as it's one of the most flame resistant materials you can bring. $59.99 on Amazon (was $79.99) Basic Hammock 1-Person 300 x 150 cm Whether you want to relax after a long day of hiking or you have kids to entertain, this hammock is a winner. It's super easy to set up and features durable material to hold up to 242 pounds. It's also practical since it folds up into a small pouch, and dries quickly if it happens to rain. $25 at Decathlon You may also like: YETI Rambler 20 oz Stackable Tumbler – $40 Story continues below advertisement Stainless Steel Camping Flatware Sets – $46.99 Thermacell Mosquito Repellent – $59.99 Walkie Talkies – $50.99 Solar Charger – $39.95 Overmont 2 Pack Oversized Folding Camping Chair A good chair can make or break your camping trip. After all, if you aren't comfy by the fire, what's the point? This two-pack is reasonably priced and top-rated for comfort, plus the chairs come in convenient carrying cases. Both include the essential drink holder and a bonus cooler pocket, so once you're settled in you'll have little reason to get up. $139.99 on Amazon (was $149.99) Coleman Gas Camping Stove You can't always bank on cooking over a fire, which is why a classic propane stove is essential to bring on your campout. Use it to boil water for pasta and coffee, fry up hot dogs, or even toast bread. This basic model comes with two burners, which are all you need to feed a small crowd. Don't forget to pick up some propane to go with it! $79.99 on Amazon (was $105.98) $82.49 at Coleman Story continues below advertisement MalloMe Sleeping Bag Take the weather into consideration when selecting a sleeping bag, because not all models will stand up to colder temperatures. If you're looking for a reasonable and basic three-season bag, however, the MalloMe line is a good starter piece. It comes in various colours and lining options, and because it is compact and lightweight, it's ideal for car camping trips. $39.99 on Amazon All-Purpose Poly Tarp Any camper needs a couple of tarps to keep them dry during wet weather, but tarps are handy when there's no rain, too. We always put one under our tent for an extra layer of protection, and bring another couple to hang for shade. Be sure to invest in an array of bungee cords and bring some rope along to help hang them! $39.59 on Amazon (was $41.79) Camping Kitchen Utensils Set It's surprising how much you actually need everyday items, like scissors or a cutting board, while camping. Instead of worrying about each individual thing, however, invest in a utensil kit that comes with everything you need. We like that it folds into a convenient storage case, which also happens to be water resistant. $45.99 on Amazon Story continues below advertisement Queen Air Mattress with Built-in Pump If you want to be high off the ground and comfortable while sleeping in your tent, invest in a taller air mattress that's easy to climb on and off of. This well-reviewed model includes a built-in pump for quick inflation and a double-walled chamber that's meant to last. A word of caution: If you plan on camping in the cooler weather, throw a wool blanket over the mattress to keep your body warm at night. Sleeping directly on all of that cold air is a good way to get the chills. $99.99 on Amazon (was $159.99) You may also like: Sea to Summit Wilderness Wash Liquid Camp Soap – $20.85 Stanley All In One French Press Coffee Maker – $34 Portable Fan – $51.99 Sportneer Small Folding Table – $52.99 Mountaintop Internal Frame Hiking Backpack – $131.99

Lehrhaupt for Outright International NYC Lesbians Unite Rally UN Dag Hammarskjold Plaza organized by Outright International On March 14, queer activists gathered at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza in NYC to reclaim a powerful legacy — the iconic "Lesbian Tent." First created nearly 30 years ago at the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, the Tent is considered a "physical representation of [the] demand for visibility, equality, and justice on the global stage." As governments worldwide continue to attack LGBTQ+ rights, those demands are just as important as ever. This explicitly inclusive demonstration organized by Outright International and the LBTI Caucus echoed the demands of past generations while looking towards the future. Keep scrolling for images of resilience, solidarity, and joy, all of which serve as a reminder to the world that LGBTQ+ rights are non-negotiable. D.J.
