MLA launches construction of Ambedkar Bhavan in Kushalnagar
Madikeri: Madikeri MLA Manthar Gowda launched the construction of Ambedkar Bhavan in Kushalnagar on Friday.
The social welfare department will construct the facility at Baichanahalli within Kushalnagar municipality limits, with an allocated budget of Rs 2 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA emphasised the importance of remembering national leader BR Ambedkar and called for collective efforts to achieve his vision.
The new structure, to be built on a 50-cent plot, will receive additional funding to enhance its appearance, he disclosed.
He urged various organisations that conduct separate Ambedkar-themed programmes to unite and work towards realising Ambedkar's vision.
He disclosed that comprehensive plans are in place for developing essential facilities in Kushalnagar taluk, including a stadium, govt hospital, revenue building, and taluk panchayat administration office on govt lands, particularly in the Gundurao layout fairground.
VP Shashidhar, chairman of the Taluk Guarantee Scheme Implementation Committee, acknowledged the MLA's continuous efforts to secure approvals for necessary taluk centre offices.
Municipal president Jayalakshmi Chandra, member Jaivardhan, and former member HD Chandru addressed the gathering. The event was attended by municipal councillor Puttalakshmi, leaders KP Chandrakala, Pramod Muttappa, and Manjunath.
