Mahateer, Raahim, Kashan reach semis

Mahateer Muhammad overcame stiff challenge in his quarter-final clash with Raahim Veqar to win 8-3 while Taimoor Ansari also fced good resistance from Ismail Aftab before winning his quarter-final by 8-3 on the third day of the inaugural ISDIN Tennis Championship at the Synthetic courts of DA Creek Club on Sunday.
The championship is being organized by Karachi Tennis Association.
The third quarter-final saw brilliant tennis from Kashan Tariq and Saqib Zia who matched each other stroke for stroke in front of a good crowd. In the end, however, Kashan triumphed 8-6 to enter the semifinals.
The lades second round matches witnessed lop-sided contests as Tahreem Yousuf beat Meerab Fatima 8-1 and Dalia Ashraf outplayed Aysha Creek 8-0.
In the Juniors 17 Singles 2nd Round, Junaid Meher faced contest frome Meer Abbas Bhagat before going over the winning line by 8-5.
In the other two matches, Ismail Aftab beat Rayan Zubair 8-0 while Taimoor Ansari proved too good for Yahya Zaid to wn 8-0.
