Bihar: LoP Rahul Gandhi to launch 'Shiksha Nyay Samvad' in Darbhanga today
New Delhi [India], May 15 (ANI): Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will launch 'Shiksha Nyay Samvad' in Darbhanga, Bihar on Thursday. The Congress leader has left his residence for Darbhanga. The announcement came ahead of the Bihar Assembly Elections, which are slated for later this year. He further said that Rahul Gandhi will also visit Bihar and interact with students by visiting colleges, universities and hostels in Darbhanga. On May 7, police lathi-charged BPSC Teacher Recruitment Exam 3.0 aspirants as they entered the 'restricted area' outside the official residence of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. The protesters are demanding a resolution regarding discrepancies in the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) TRE 3.0 exam results, in which candidates were concerned about vacant posts and issues with the declaration of results Earlier on April 7, Rahul Gandhi visited and joined the Congress' student wing's (NSUI) 'Palayan Roko Naukri Do' rally in Begusarai. BPSC teacher aspirants baton-charged during protest outside CM's residence
1 2 Patna: The protests by BPSC teacher aspirants turned violent on Tuesday after police resorted to a baton charge during a sit-in outside CM Nitish Kumar's official residence at 1 Anne Marg in Patna. The demonstrators, demanding the publication of pending supplementary results, faced police action that reportedly left several of protesters holding placards marched from Eco Park Gate No. 2 around 9am and entered the high-security restricted zone where public demonstrations are prohibited. They attempted to gherao the CM's residence, prompting police to police officer (SDPO) Anu Kumari of Secretariat-1 instructed the demonstrators to vacate the area. "Upon their refusal to disperse, police used mild force against the aspirants to remove them from the area and to maintain the law and order situation. A case is being filed against the protestors for unlawful assembly in the restricted area," she people were detained on the spot. Secretariat police station SHO Sanjeev Kumar said that a case has been registered against 28 people associated with a group that allegedly coordinated the protest. When we found out, we started to disperse them."While protesters claimed they sustained multiple injuries in the police action, officials denied the allegations. "We used mild force, and there were no reports of any injury," the SHO said.A protesting candidate said they had been demonstrating in the Gardanibagh area for four months. "We have approached everybody, from ministers to secretaries and MLAs, but none provided us with any solution," she aspirant referred to the education minister's earlier assurance to write to the BPSC. "There is no transparency in the recruitment process of teachers," he controversy centres on the BPSC TRE 3.0 examination . Of the 87,774 advertised posts, results were declared for only 66,000, leaving over 21,000 vacancies unfilled. Patna: Leader of the opposition in Bihar assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav , has condemned the lathicharge on teacher aspirants and TRE-3.0 candidates near the CM's residence in Patna on Tuesday."It has become the hobby of the state govt to brutally beat up, commit injustice and torture the youth who put forward their demands in a democratic way," Tejashwi wrote on his X handle."This useless govt patronises and protects criminals and corrupt people and lathicharges students, youth and unemployed people whenever it wants," he Congress president Rajesh Kumar also criticised the govt's response, saying the BJP-JD(U) coalition had once again shown its insensitivity to the future of Bihar's youth."Thousands of eligible candidates who wrote the BPSC TRE 3.0 went to meet the CM. But instead of giving justice, the govt got them brutally lathicharged. The male police force lathicharged the female candidates. This is shameful, inhuman and against democratic values," he said."This is not only an attack on students, but on the hopes and future of Bihar," Rajesh added, expressing support for the students' demand for the immediate release of BPSC TRE 3.0 supplementary exam to the candidates, the TRE 3.0 announced 87,774 teaching posts, but results were declared for only 66,000. They claim no explanation has been provided for the remaining 21,000 posts, and that several names appeared across three separate lists. "It is clear from this that a large number of posts are still vacant," the Congress chief alleged.
