TMS observes rising demand for Contract Staffing as Client's opt for Flexible Workforce with Statutory Compliance
India PR Distribution Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 19: As Contract Staffing business gains momentum across sectors like Logistics, Retail, Manufacturing, and Service Industries, Team Management Services (TMS) is drawing attention to a crucial--but often overlooked--dimension of this Manpower strategy: Statutory Compliance. With businesses are turning to temporary and project-based hiring to stay Agile amid shifting market conditions, Team Management Services (TMS) reports a steady increase in the demand for Structured & Compliance focused Contract Staffing solutions. Companies are no longer viewing contract staffing solely as a cost-cutting measure. Instead, it's being embraced as a deliberate workforce strategy--one that allows organizations to respond quickly to seasonal demands, geographic expansion, and short-term projects. However, Team Management Services (TMS) has observed that in the rush to scale up flexible workforce, many organizations inadvertently expose themselves to legal and reputational risks. "Contract staffing offers immense flexibility, but it doesn't eliminate regulatory obligations," said Vishakha Bhosale, HR Leader at TMS. "We've seen that companies often underestimate the complexity of labor laws for short-term hires--whether it's PF, ESI, Professional Tax, or minimum wage compliance. Additionally, many clients are not clear in their understanding about other Labour laws such as Payment of Bonus, Leaves, Overtime and even Maternity, when it comes to Temporary or Fixed Duration Contract Employees" This complexity becomes even more pronounced for businesses operating across multiple states, where statutory requirements vary and documentation must be meticulously managed. As a result, conversations between Companies and Staffing Service providers are evolving--moving beyond headcount fulfillment to detailed discussions around onboarding systems, audit-readiness, and regulatory transparency. Team Management Services (TMS), a leading 3rd Party Contract Staffing & Compliance Outsourcing service provider across India, supports businesses by handling the end-to-end Statutory Compliance lifecycle. From managing documentation and payroll to ensuring audit preparedness, the company helps clients remain focused on their core operations without falling foul of labor regulations. In conclusion, as businesses continue to expand and engage contract resources, it has become increasingly imperative for organizations to exercise due diligence in selecting a reliable and competent Contract Staffing Service Provider. Partnering with a vendor that prioritizes Comprehensive Statutory Compliance is not merely a regulatory necessity but a crucial safeguard against potential legal disputes, labour inspections, and financial liabilities. A well-chosen Staffing Service Provider ensures that all applicable labour laws are meticulously adhered to, thereby mitigating the risk of fines, penalties, or adverse actions from government authorities. Failure to meet these compliance requirements can result in reputational damage, operational disruptions, and significant financial repercussions for the client company. By aligning with a Contract Staffing vendor that possesses a thorough understanding of legal obligations and maintains a proactive approach to compliance management, companies can fortify themselves against regulatory challenges while fostering a stable and legally sound workforce. About TMS: Team Management Services (TMS) is an India-based HR solutions company offering Contract Staffing, IT Staffing, Staff Augmentation, HR Outsourcing, Govt. Apprentice Schemes and Talent Acquisition Services across diverse sectors. Echo Global Logistics: leading in freight fraud prevention
Echo Global Logistics has emerged as a standout performer in the freight industry's battle against fraud, earning recognition as a winner of the 2025 FreightWaves Fraud Fighter Awards. With an impressive record of delivering over one million truckload shipments in 2024 while maintaining a loss rate of less than 0.01% due to theft, Echo has established itself as an industry leader in fraud prevention strategies. According to Jay Gustafson, EVP of Brokerage Operations at Echo, the landscape of freight fraud is evolving rapidly. 'We've seen a growing trend of strategic truckload theft through digital fraud and/or identity theft. This type of fraud has become very prevalent and we've seen it continue to grow,' Gustafson said. Despite this increasing threat, Echo remains 'well-positioned to handle these types of cases.' Echo's approach to fighting fraud centers on integrating advanced technology throughout its operations. 'At Echo, we employ a thorough carrier vetting process and integrate technology into our entire process to keep freight safe with up-to-date measurements,' Gustafson explained. The company has implemented sophisticated tracking solutions that provide real-time visibility into cargo movement. 'Integrating GPS-based, covert tracking systems into cargo provides shippers with real-time monitoring and alerts, enabling their swift response to suspicious activities,' said technological advantage extends to data analysis as well. Echo has developed capabilities to 'aggregate third-party data on carriers to help stay ahead of potentially bad actors.' Their Transportation Management System (TMS) then 'analyzes and leverages that data to make sure the right carriers are in our network and booked on the right freight.' Echo remains vigilant about emerging fraud tactics in the industry. Gustafson believes that 'fraud will always be a problem when it comes to freight,' noting that 'bad actors have already found new ways to thwart security systems, from posing as legitimate carriers to purchasing secure carrier information from actual providers to impersonate a carrier.' Looking ahead, Echo expects digital fraud to remain the primary concern. 'Strategic theft through digital activity is where we expect to continue to see trends in theft,' Gustafson predicted. 'As technology becomes more and more central to the equation, adding safeguards as we go will be crucial to ensuring fraudulent transactions can't slip through the cracks.' Echo emphasizes that combating fraud requires cooperation across the entire freight ecosystem. 'Fighting fraud benefits all parties, and brokers, shippers, and carriers should all work together and share data to combat theft,' Gustafson advised. This collaborative approach reflects Echo's understanding that fraud prevention is a shared the core of Echo's fraud prevention strategy is a comprehensive carrier selection process. The company 'employs a rigorous carrier vetting process, that includes thorough verifications of DOT and MC numbers, insurance coverage, licensing, and activity history.' This multi-layered approach ensures that only trustworthy carriers join Echo's network. Echo has developed specialized protocols for handling high-value shipments and targeted commodities. Their Targeted Commodity Protection Process specifically addresses freight exceeding $100,000 in cargo value or items at higher risk of theft. These shipments must be 'marked accordingly prior to sourcing,' and carrier sales teams follow a specific Standard Operating Procedure when handling such loads. The company maintains a select group of 'Targeted Commodity Approved' carriers who have 'successfully handled freight for Echo and undergone a comprehensive compliance review.' These carriers receive specific guidance on reducing theft risks, including 'avoiding unsecured yards when possible.' Echo continues to refine its security measures to stay ahead of evolving threats. Earlier this year, the company 'tightened the criteria for a carrier to become TC approved even further.' Their enhanced review process now evaluates 'length of time for active authority, how long they have been in the Echo network, how many loads they have hauled for Echo over various time periods, and status of ELD connection in Highway .' Echo's approach to fraud prevention extends to employee training and organizational culture. Gustafson recommends that companies 'handle high-value and targeted commodities with even greater security.' Echo uses its technology to analyze data which indicates which products and shipments are particularly vulnerable so as to ensure their safety can be maintained every step of the way. This commitment to security is ingrained in Echo's company culture, embodied in their mottos #CarryTheLoadTogether and #BetterIsTheOnlyOption, reflecting their dedication to continuous improvement in fraud prevention. Through comprehensive vetting processes, technological innovation, and industry collaboration, Echo Global Logistics has established itself as a leader in freight fraud prevention, setting standards that benefit the entire logistics post Echo Global Logistics: leading in freight fraud prevention appeared first on FreightWaves. Entering its 12th year, the programme which to date has benefited more than 1,600 underprivileged patients from across Malaysia, continues to expand with Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital (HRC) under the Health Ministry joining as its fourth strategic partner. The programme's other existing strategic partners are University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC), Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HCTM) and Hospital Pakar Universiti Sains Malaysia (HPUSM). This year, each hospital has once again received a contribution of RM500,000 from Yayasan UEM which are used to procure life-saving medical devices such as pacemaker and breathing device, medications, treatment charges including those for chemotherapy as well as to facilitate high-cost, critical surgeries for each of the hospitals' underprivileged patients. The contribution ceremony for the 2025 Yayasan UEM Medical Assistance Programme was held at HRC, where Yayasan UEM chief executive officer Aishah Nor presented mock cheques to representatives of its strategic partners. This included Dr Faizul Nizam Abu Salim from HRC, Prof Dr Nazirah Hasnan from UMMC, Datuk Dr Azmi Baharudin from HCTM and Prof Datuk Dr Ab Rahman Izaini Ghani from HPUSM. At HRC specifically, the funding is used to procure a Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) device for its neurological rehabilitation treatment as well as to subsidise other rehabilitation costs for its patients to support their long-term recovery and health. The funding will also help cover rehabilitation costs for underprivileged asnaf and non-Muslim patients, ensuring they have equal access to essential treatment. Health Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Suriani Ahmad who graced the ceremony, said: 'This initiative is a testament to Yayasan UEM's commitment to expanding access to quality, inclusive and equitable rehabilitation care for all segments of society, in line with the principles of Malaysia Madani.' She also emphasised that the initiative marked a historic and meaningful step for both HRC and the Health Ministry as it is the only rehabilitation facility under ministry that provides comprehensive rehabilitation services for patients with stroke, spinal cord injuries, amputations and other conditions requiring long-term intervention. According to Aishah, Yayasan UEM is deeply committed to providing access to quality medical care for the underprivileged, especially against the backdrop of rising medical cost and inflation. 'It is with this notion that we fully support the government's efforts to promote inclusive and sustained medical support and we hope to continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most,' she added. Also present to witness the ceremony were Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya state health director Dr Nor'Aishah Abu Bakar, as well as UEM Group managing director and Yayasan UEM Board of Trustees member Datuk Amran Hafiz Affifudin.
