OMS Reports Growth, Expansion Ahead Of First Earnings Call

BUSINESS KUALA LUMPUR, June 20 (Bernama) -- OMS Energy Technologies Inc (OMS), a manufacturer of surface wellhead systems (SWS) and oil country tubular goods (OCTG), has issued a business update ahead of its inaugural earnings call following its successful Nasdaq listing in May 2025. The company's expanding customer base, growing talent pool, and continued investment in research and development (R&D) are positioning OMS for long-term success, according to a statement. Its Chief Executive Officer, How Meng Hock said OMS enters the public market with a solid foundation, supported by strong partnerships, manufacturing capabilities, and prudent financial management. OMS recently secured a letter of award from Grupo Simples Oil for SWS in Angola's Onshore Kwanza Basin, expanding its presence in West Africa. In Indonesia, new clients such as PT Seleraya Belida and Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga are contributing to sales growth, while PTTEP in Thailand renewed its three-year contract effective July 1. Long-standing partnerships continue to anchor the company's revenue stream. A 10-year agreement with Saudi Aramco is expected to generate between US$120 million and US$200 million annually. OMS also maintains a strong supply relationship with Halliburton, with steady order volumes from its Malaysia and Singapore operations. (US$1=RM4.24) With 11 manufacturing facilities across six countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and Indonesia, OMS is strategically positioned in key oil and gas regions. The company's localisation strategy supports eligibility for government tenders while enriching its workforce through local hiring and compliance with Saudi Arabia's IKTVA and Indonesia's TKDN requirements. In product innovation, OMS invested US$1.1 million in additive manufacturing (AM) R&D to develop a metallic seal for its high-pressure-high-temperature (HPHT) gate valves. The project has completed its initial proof-of-concept phase and is expected to enhance supply chain efficiency and material selection. OMS continues to collaborate with institutions such as the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing and Technology (SIMTech) to advance its R&D efforts. Its delivery performance under long-term contracts with Saudi Aramco and Halliburton remains strong, supported by balanced manufacturing capacity and strategic facility locations. The company prioritises workplace safety and environmental compliance, holding ISO 9001, API Q1, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 certifications across all manufacturing sites. It recently completed its annual surveillance audit, reinforcing its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments.

Rept Battero to supply batteries for Indonesian electric buses

Chinese battery manufacturer Rept Battero Energy Company has signed a supply agreement with PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas, the commercial vehicle manufacturing unit of Indonesia's Bakrie & Brothers Group, for up to 3,000 truck and bus battery packs by the end of 2025. Rept Battero's local subsidiary, PT Rept Battero Indonesia, will assemble the lithium-ion battery packs locally to help meet Indonesia's localization rate requirements (TKDN) and help advance zero-emission transportation in the country. The agreement was signed in VKTR's truck and bus plant in Magelang, Central Java, in the presence of Indonesia's Minister of Land Transport and Transportation of Indonesia, and the heads of General Administration of Customs, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce, and local government officials. The VKTR plant is focused exclusively on the production of battery-powered commercial vehicles and is equipped with full-process manufacturing capabilities, including chassis assembly, battery assembly, body welding, painting, final assembly, and vehicle testing. The two companies also plan to collaborate on helping to develop Indonesia's battery supply chain, including nickel smelting and production of other battery materials. "Rept Battero to supply batteries for Indonesian electric buses" was originally created and published by Just Auto, a GlobalData owned brand. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7 and Z Flip7 FE certified in Indonesia

Samsung's next generation foldables are clearing the last hurdles before the big Galaxy Unpacked event. The main trio was certified by Indonesia's TKDN. There are three models – the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 (SM-F766B) and its new affordable companion, the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE (SM-F761B), and the flagship Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 (SM-F966B). Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 renders • (Alleged) Z Fold7 live photo • Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra teaser There may be one more – Samsung officially showed a very brief teaser for the Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra. It's not showing up on the Indonesian authority certification list, which may suggest limited availability (ideally, not as limited as the Z Fold Limited Edition). As for the flips, the Galaxy Z Flip7 will be powered by Exynos 2500, while the cheaper FE model will get the older Exynos 2400. And it seems that the US isn't getting a pass this time and will get an Exynos-powered Z Flip7. The Z Fold7 will probably use the Snapdragon 8 Elite globally, though. By the way, Samsung has officially confirmed that the new One UI 8 will debut with the new foldables (though an open beta is already available for the S25 models). Renders: Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 • Galaxy Z Flip7 FE • Galaxy Watch8 Classic Besides introducing two new tiers of Galaxy Z Foldables, the Unpacked event in early July will bring new watches – the Galaxy Watch8 Classic renders show an Ultra-like squircle design and a rotating bezel. There will be a vanilla Watch8 too. And maybe, just maybe, the Project Moohan XR headset will launch. It is a collaboration between Samsung and Google that Google says is coming later this year. Via

Major Breakthrough: New Certificates Propel Apple iPhone 16 into Indonesia

Indonesia's Ministry of Industry has issued domestic component level certificates for 20 Apple (AAPL, Financial) products, including the latest iPhone 16, allowing them to be legally sold in the country, according to a Friday news release. The certificates include 11 for mobile phone products and nine for tablet devices. The ministry's Domestic Product Development Center signed the TKDN certificates after Apple resolved defaults from 2020 to 2023 by meeting regulations outlined in Industry Minister Regulation No. 29 of 2017. Apple must secure a postal and telecommunications certificate from the Ministry of Communication and Digital to proceed. The additional certificate is essential for obtaining an import Product Registration Mark (TPP) from the Ministry of Industry, which is required for IMEI and Import Approval from the Ministry of Trade. Earlier, the Industry Minister confirmed that negotiations with Apple concluded successfully, paving the way for renewed certification. The iPhone 16, launched on Sept. 20, 2024, was blocked from the market for failing to meet the 40% local component requirement. Only products surpassing this benchmark qualify for sale.
