Tesco shoppers ‘betrayed' as supermarket axes popular fizzy drinks from shelves
It comes after a raft of discontinued items by supermarkets OUT OF STOCK Tesco shoppers 'betrayed' as supermarket axes popular fizzy drinks from shelves TESCO shoppers have called for the return of the retailer's Pink Lemonade after it was suddenly discontinued. The 80p summer drink is being sold off cheaply to make way for a new own-brand beverage called Fruit Fusion Zero. Advertisement 1 Tesco has discontinued its pink and cloudy lemonade Credit: Tesco Tesco's Cloudy Lemonade is also being replaced with a new product called Lemon Zero. Like the old versions, the new drinks do not contain added sugar and cost 80p for two litres. The removal of Pink Lemonade has upset fans, who have pleaded with Tesco for its return. One said on X, formerly known as Twitter: 'You've betrayed me by discontinuing my favourite pink lemonade, please tell me it will be coming back soon!' Advertisement Another added on Reddit: 'Damn that sucks, only just discovered it as well.' A third said: 'We have none in my store. Yes they are discontinued which is a shame.' Tesco did not comment, but it's understood the supermarket rotates products throughout the year to introduce new tastes for customers. The other new Tesco carbonated drinks include Apple Zero and Pineapple & Grapefruit Zero. Advertisement Its Pink Lemonade is available in selected large stores whilst stocks last, with customers rushing to snap them up for 20p cheaper than usual. Supermarkets and manufacturers regularly switch up products to keep customers interested. Weetabix discontinues popular cereal flavour Last week The Sun reported how Cadbury's Bournville fingers - a treat introduced during the early days of lockdown - were being delisted in spite of rave reviews. Meanwhile, Greggs has got rid of the Chargrill Chicken Oval Bite and McDonald's ditched its Chicken Bacon Caesar Wrap. Advertisement Tesco has also got rid of its own-brand fried chicken instant noodles flavour. And shoppers were heartbroken when Tesco cut its own-brand tomato and basil soup from its chilled range. At the time, the supermarket stated that it adjusts its soup range throughout the year to reflect seasonal demand. The supermarket will expand its offering again in the autumn. Advertisement In March, Tesco shoppers were also shocked to find the supermarket no longer stocks six-pint cartons of milk.

An adult entry costs £15.95 online or £16.95 on the day as a walk-in. Frankie and Benny's is offering dads free steaks or pints if you pre-book a table. Meanwhile, Prezzo is offering dads a free pint of Poretti on Sunday. Lidl has also launched a number of middle aisle products ideal for Father's Day. Shoppers can pick up BBQ essentials like a Grillmeister 3-in-1 Smoker Grill selling for £39.99 and a Grillmeister Ceramic Barbecue for £79.99. How to save money on chocolate We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don't have to break the bank buying your favourite bar. Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs... Go own brand - if you're not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you'll save by going for the supermarket's own brand bars. Shop around - if you've spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it's cheaper elsewhere. Websites like let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you're getting the best deal. Look out for yellow stickers - supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they've been reduced. They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged. Buy bigger bars - most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar. So if you've got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger. Do you have a money problem that needs sorting? Writing in a Reddit thread one shopper said: "These are my go to quick food and my local Tesco has none on the shelf and they've disappeared off of the website too. "I'll be gutted if they've discontinued them." Another fan replied: "Probably, if you liked them, these stores always stop what people like." Meanwhile, Tesco customers have been taking to social media to reveal how they're getting free items by checking receipts. How to save money at Tesco EVERY little helps when it comes to saving money at Tesco. The Sun's Head of Consumer Tara Evans explains how you can save money at the UK's biggest supermarket. Clubcard points Tesco first launched it's loyalty scheme back in 1995. You get one point for every £1 you spend in store. If you spend points in store then 100 points is worth £1. You can spend your points via its reward partners and get triple and even sometimes quadruple the value. Extend Clubcard points You can find lost Clubvcard points and find the last two years of unused vouchers by logging into the Tesco Clubcard site. Clubcard prices If you don't have a Clubcard then you will miss out on its cheaper Clubcard prices. However, don't forget to check prices before you shop because it might not be cheaper than elsewhere, especially on big value items like washing powder and loo roll. Yellow stickers Shops do vary the time they reduce groceries with yellow stickers but Tesco tends to be between 7pm and 9pm. Save money if you shop online If you get your Tesco food shop delivered then it might be worth buying a delivery saver pass to help cut the cost of delivery fees. If you live near a Tesco then you can get click and collect slots of as little as 25p, so it might be cheaper than getting your food delivered. Do you have a money problem that needs sorting?
