Oman's air traffic sees growth in May 2025: CAA
Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman recorded a notable increase in air traffic during May 2025, according to the latest bulletin released by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). According to the report, Oman saw a significant surge in both overflights and passenger movement through Muscat International Airport. Passenger numbers at Muscat International Airport reached 599,507 in May 2025, marking an 8 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2024, the report highlighted.. Egypt postpones official opening of Grand Egyptian Museum to Q4 2025
Arab Finance: The official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum has been postponed to the fourth quarter (Q4) of this year, according to a statement issued by Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. The museum was initially scheduled for inauguration on July 3rd. However, the ministry cited the current regional developments as the reason behind the delay. A new date for the official opening will be announced in due course, following coordination with relevant authorities. Qatar attracts over $2.7bln foreign direct investment in 2024
Doha, Qatar: Qatar's International Media Office has announced that the country attracted more than 2.7 billion dollars in foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2024, marking a significant year-on-year (YoY) increase in both projects and jobs creation across various critical sectors. According the report, 241 projects were created, representing a 110% YoY increase investments. Consequently, that created more than 9,000 jobs, a 123% YoY increase. US launches anti-dumping probe into Egyptian rebar exports
Arab Finance: The US International Trade Commission announced a preliminary anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigation into imports of steel concrete reinforcing bars (rebar) from Egypt, Algeria, Bulgaria, and Vietnam. Unless the Department of Commerce extends the time for initiation, the commission shall issue a preliminary determination by July 21 st on whether Egyptian and other mentioned countries materially injured or threatened the US industry. Over 1.1mln pilgrims land in Saudi Arabia as preparations are in full swing for Hajj
The General Directorate of Passports announced that a total of 1,102,469 pilgrims arrived in Saudi Arabia from abroad through the Kingdom's air, land, and sea entry points by the end of Monday, May 26. It stated that out of this total, 1,044,341 pilgrims arrived through airports, 53,850 via land border crossings, and 4,278 through sea ports. The directorate also reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to facilitating entry procedures for pilgrims by equipping all international ports with advanced technologies operated by highly trained, multilingual personnel. Saudi Arabia has completed elaborate preparations and flawless arrangements for a hassle-free Hajj, featuring seamless pilgrim experience and digital integration. The Saudi authorities have reiterated the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to leveraging all capabilities to serve pilgrims within an integrated system.
