Stephanie White's Behavior Insider Fever Locker Room is Turning Heads
Stephanie White's Behavior Insider Fever Locker Room is Turning Heads originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The vibes inside the Indiana Fever locker room appear to be pretty immaculate of late. This comes as no surprise, considering how this team is coming off arguably their biggest win of the season on Saturday after taking down the defending champions, the New York Liberty, 102-88. Advertisement On Monday, All-Star forward Aliyah Boston submitted video evidence proving just how much fun the players are having right now that even head coach Stephanie White decided to join in on the action. Boston's video, which she posted on her Instagram stories, shows the 6-foot-5 forward-center dancing with teammate Sydney Colson. The big highlight of the video, however, is Coach White lip syncing the song and busting out her dance moves as well. While Boston and Colson's moves were admirable, it was White's antics that stole the show for the fans on social media. "aliyah saying it was steph's idea lmfao," a comment on X read. Advertisement "How many coaches would even let their players convince them to do something like this??? Coach White is a player coach. I ❤️ The Fever!" another said. "they got coach before caitlin😭" a user wrote. "They can never make me dislike our coach," declared a fan. "Y'all sure Steph lost the locker room? 😭😭😭😭" asked another. White is currently in her first season coaching the Fever, but based on this video alone, it appears that she's already made a strong connection with her players. Her relationship with her squad will, without a doubt, play a crucial role in this team's quest for a championship this season. Caitlin Clark Makes Clear Statement on Stephanie White, Aliyah Boston Move
Caitlin Clark Makes Clear Statement on Stephanie White, Aliyah Boston Move originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Spirits were high for the Indiana Fever on Monday coming off Caitlin Clark's return from injury and an impressive 102-88 win over the New York Liberty on Saturday. Advertisement Clark had 32 points, nine assists and eight rebounds against the defending WNBA champions, helping head coach Stephanie White and the wobbly Fever get back to a .500 record (5-5). Indiana center Aliyah Boston appeared to still be in a celebratory mood on Monday as she took to social media to post a video on TikTok with her teammate, Clark's backup at point guard, Sydney Colson. White caught wind that they were making a video, and Clark had thoughts about what happened next. Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (left) and head coach Stephanie Ruszkowski-Imagn Images; Grace Smith/IndyStar via Imagn Images "Yes this was Steph's idea," Boston wrote to her more than 200,000 TikTok followers. Boston and Colson resorted to being backup dancers as the 47-year-old coach took center stage in the video, lip syncing to a viral TikTok sound. Clark gave a statement of approval in the comments section, replying "Ate." Advertisement "Steph white - I was not familiar with your game but get it girl," wrote another popular comment. "The coolest coach in the WNBA," said a fan. Another added, "Yess coach! Love that y'all can have fun too." From the first day White joined the Fever as a coach, she has had an understanding that Clark is bigger than basketball, forming a trustworthy relationship along that foundation. "I think first and foremost, she does an outstanding job of managing it all," White told The Athletic before the season. "Like, she's incredibly humble. She understands the big picture. So she views it understanding her celebrity, No. 1. But No. 2, she's a Midwest kid, a Midwest person and she is who she is. She tries to live her life in an authentic way. But she's very much Taylor Swift 2.0." Advertisement On Monday, though, White was the one shaking it off. The Fever return to action Tuesday night at home against the Connecticut Sun, the team White coached in 2024. The game begins at 7 p.m. ET and will be televised on NBA TV. The Indiana Fever must find a way to keep Aari McDonald
The Indiana Fever have a pretty key roster decision ahead of them, but it should be a no-brainer. This team has to lock in emergency hardship guard Aari McDonald for the rest of the season. It absolutely has to. Advertisement After Saturday's impressive 79-52 win over the Chicago Sky, McDonald proved why she's the best option on the roster to back up superstar Caitlin Clark at point guard once the latter gets healthy enough to play again. Veteran guard Sydney Colson assumed starting point guard duties when Clark exited the lineup with a quad strain, as her extensive experience in the WNBA brought the smarts needed to set a tone running the point. However, there wasn't a close competition between which point guard made Indiana look sharper on the court. McDonald, a hardship exemption addition by the Fever after her surprise cut by the Los Angeles Sparks, is a perfect fit in Fever coach Stephanie White's system. With her speed, three-point shooting, stingy defense and, most importantly, her ability to run the offense at a high level, the Fever can play a brisker, friskier styler of basketball. McDonald brings something to the Fever that it lacked even when Clark was in the lineup. The team needs a young, speedy point guard to take some of Clark's minutes and continue to facilitate offense when she's on the bench. Just watching McDonald help unlock guard Kelsey Mitchell in her two-game stint with the Fever has been really encouraging. Advertisement Against the Washington Mystics on Tuesday, McDonald played a bench-high 27 minutes for seven points, five assists, three steals and a plus-6 rating. Against the Sky, she played a bench-high 25 minutes for 12 points (three treys), two assists, three steals and a whopping plus-19 rating. She was a legitimate driving force for getting Indiana two wins in that brief time span, and the Fever probably don't win those games without her. Colson still has a clear role with Indiana in the locker room and on the court, but the team's roster construction with well-battled veterans has led to some early inconsistency. Players like Colson, forward DeWanna Bonner and forward Natasha Howard bring so much to the Fever in leadership and on-court savvy, but those players have all had moments of showing some age in the early season. The tempo isn't quite the same, understandably so since all of them are over the age of 33. McDonald changes that equation on the court. The Fever's 2-0 record and overall quality of play with McDonald on the roster without Clark and guard Sophie Cunningham should be proof enough that she's earned a spot on the roster. Advertisement Indiana being able to rotate Clark, Mitchell, Cunningham, McDonald and Lexie Hull as its top five guards for the rest of the season, while having Colson on the bench to step in as needed, could really help this Fever team establish itself. McDonald being able to run the Fever offense when Clark isn't on the court changes the entire dynamic of what Indiana can do for the rest of the year. The Fever could stand to somehow gain from the Clark-Cunningham injury absence in the long run by finding out what McDonald brings to the table. The best plan for Indiana with its current salary cap situation would be to release forward/center Brianna Turner, a veteran who has seldomly played for the Fever this season, sign McDonald for the rest of the 2025 campaign and possibly bring Turner back later in July on a new deal if she's available. If Turner is able to find a team where she can get more playing time, this could be a total-win scenario for everyone involved. If the Fever let McDonald go once Clark and Cunningham get back, they're not likely to get her back. The WNBA will notice how well McDonald has played in this two-game sample, and another team will swoop her up in no time. Just look at the Sky, who lost point guard Courtney Vandersloot to injury during Saturday's loss. Chicago would probably add McDonald in a heartbeat after she played so well against them. Advertisement Also consider that Fever may not find a better backup point guard for Clark in the long haul without a trade, as McDonald is only 26 and still has plenty of room to grow. She could be a long-term solution for the franchise. Things looked pretty grim for Indiana when Clark left the court with her injury, but McDonald's emergence with the Fever has given the team real momentum in a tough stretch. It would be organizational malpractice to let her go right now. Indiana would live to regret it by watching McDonald continue to thrive elsewhere. Fever HC Stephanie White gives crucial injury update amid key roster losses
The post Fever HC Stephanie White gives crucial injury update amid key roster losses appeared first on ClutchPoints. It seems like the Indiana Fever have been having their 'when it rains, it pours' moment lately, losing significant players in Caitlin Clark, Sydney Colson, and Sophie Cunningham and dropping games they normally could've won, like against the Connecticut Sun. Advertisement However, the tides may be turning for the Fever, as head coach Stephanie White delivered some positive updates for a change when she spoke to the media after the team's latest practice. White touched on Colson's and Cunningham's healing process, offering a glimmer of hope that the squad could soon be back to full strength. 'We got good news from both of their MRIs, as good of news as you can get,' White began optimistically. 'So right now, it's a day-to-day thing. We're looking forward to, hopefully, them returning at some point sooner rather than later. But at the same time, it's how each of them progresses in their rehab and in their return to the court action.' White continued on to detail Colson's recovery from an upper leg ailment. 'Syd's been progressing really quickly,' she said. 'She's going to get out there and get some shots up too, so we'll see where she sits when she comes back after her recovery from today, make sure we don't have any setbacks, and then we'll see where she is tomorrow.' Advertisement White also offered a small status update on forward Damiris Dantas and why she was inactive in practice. 'Just a rest day for DD,' White explained. 'She's got a lot of miles on, and [we're] making sure she gets a little bit of rest. She's had a little bit of soreness in her lower body, so [we] don't want that to create or turn into anything.' When asked about how she and the rest of the front office staff have been handling the onslaught of player injuries to start the 2025 WNBA season, White didn't sugarcoat the impact it's had and the way it's forced them to pivot. 'Trying to figure out all of our options,' White answered honestly. 'From potential hardship contracts and players and who's available to how [we are] with our coaches, really. How we reimagine how we're using our players. So we've had a good opportunity in practice today to get a lot of different looks.' These updates come amid Clark's two-week absence due to a quad injury. There's been no new information on her return released by the Fever.

Fever guard ruled out alongside Caitlin Clark vs. Mystics
The post Fever guard ruled out alongside Caitlin Clark vs. Mystics appeared first on ClutchPoints. The Indiana Fever are facing some significant adversity during the early stages of the 2025 WNBA season. Indiana is still without superstar Caitlin Clark for at least another week while she recovers from a quad injury. Now the Fever will be down another guard ahead of their next game against the Mystics. Advertisement The Fever released the official injury report ahead of Tuesday's game against the Mystics. It revealed that guard Sophie Cunningham will be out with an ankle injury. Indiana got battered with injuries in their last game against Connecticut. The Fever lost both Cunningham and backup point guard Sydney Colson during that game. It clearly got the Fever out of sorts early and they never recovered, giving the Sun their first win of the season. Colson was not listed on the injury report, which suggests she could play on Tuesday. That would give the Fever a huge boost ahead of what feels like a must-win game. Indiana also got some positive injury news over the weekend. MRIs revealed that neither player suffered a long-term injury, per head coach Stephanie White. Advertisement 'I think we got good news from both of their MRIs, as good of news as you can get,' White said. 'And so right now, it's a day-to-day thing. We're looking forward to hopefully them returning at some point sooner rather than later, but at the same time, it's how each of them progresses in their rehab.' Fever add former No. 3 overall pick after recent rash of injuries Kyle Terada-Imagn Images The Fever also made one important roster move to help compensate for the team's recent bout of injuries. Indiana signed former Atlanta guard Aari McDonald to a contract on Monday. They added McDonald via the emergency hardship exception. This exception allows WNBA teams to immediately sign players if they have fewer than 10 game-eligible players at any point during the season. Advertisement McDonald is a former third overall pick who led Arizona on an improbable run to a national championship game during the 2021 NCAA Tournament. She has not made a big impact in the WNBA during her first few years as a pro. McDonald averages 8.6 points and 2.8 assists per game in under 22 minutes per game throughout her career. It will be interesting to see if the Fever give McDonald any minutes on Tuesday night.
