Fazura launches new single ‘Luar Biasa' with message of resilience, composed by Indonesia's Ade Govinda
KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 — Following the success of the duet 'Raya Pum Pang' with Syasya Rizal, which gained popularity even in Indonesia, popular actress and entrepreneur Fazura is back with a new single titled 'Luar Biasa'. What makes this song interesting is that it carries a message of strength and personal resurgence. A collaboration between Fazura Studios and Universal Music Malaysia, the song is composed entirely by Indonesian singer-songwriter Ade Govinda. The 41-year-old singer, whose full name is Nur Fazura Sharifuddin, said the collaboration began after a brief online discussion that led to a creative process that took less than a week. 'Through a Zoom session, I immediately explained the concept of the song I wanted. I wanted something that could uplift the spirit — not a heartbreak song. Something suitable to listen to in the morning while driving, something inspirational,' she told reporters at the recent launch of her new song's music video here. According to Fazura, what pleased her most was that the lyrics, written by Ade along with Veron Savanoah, required no changes as they perfectly conveyed the message she wanted to deliver. The core theme of the song is 'Failing is normal but rising is extraordinary'. The 'Pendekar Awang: Darah Indera Gajah' actress also admitted to leaning more toward songs that empower, even though heartbreak songs usually receive more attention. 'As a woman, I think it's important for us to listen to songs that lift our spirits. If we listen to too many sad songs, we can get lost in our own emotions,' she said. Meanwhile, Ade Govinda described Fazura as approachable, professional and easy to work with in any situation. 'She's very down-to-earth and when she's working, her mood quickly turns positive. She's punctual, quick and easy to manage,' he said. — Bernama

#SHOWBIZ: Nadeera and Hael duet leads Top 10 new Raya songs this year
KUALA LUMPUR: Every year, Malaysians' favourite artistes try their best to release catchy Hari Raya songs, and over the last two years, popular girl groups Dolla and De Fam "led the pack", with Raya Raya Raya and Alamak Raya Lagi respectively. Entertainment portal Akses Malaysia recently revealed its Top 10 most trending Raya songs of 2025, and they included duets by Dolla's former singer Syasya Rizal and singer-actress Nur Fazura Sharifuddin, Anugerah Juara Lagu contenders Hael Husaini Razmi and Nadeera Zaini, and pop queen Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza. Leading the list of 2025's top 10 Raya songs, as measured by YouTube presence, is Hael's and Nadeera's Meriah Lain Macam, an upbeat song about young Malaysians cherishing their loved ones during Hari Raya and seeking forgiveness for past mistakes. To date it has garnered about 16 million views on YouTube. Former One Nation Emcees lead singer Mimi Norhisham or Mimifly appears to be the most talked-about artiste this Raya season, largely because of her new Raya song Raya Serumpun that comes with a colourful, stylish and (to certain people) daring music video. Raya Serumpun has even been hailed by pop king Anuar Zain as his favourite new Raya song, for its soul, energy and positive vibes, not to mention Mimi's "sexy" dance moves and her brilliant combination of hip-hop, Asli, and pop sounds. The real message behind this song, however, is the need for Malaysians to unite and appreciate each other's cultures in the spirit of Bangsa Malaysia, and it has garnered 14 million YouTube views. Syasya and Fazura's duet, with the cutesy title Raya Pum Pang, comes next with 4 million YouTube views. This cheerful and boisterous duet combines modern and traditional pop, and is complemented with a special, yet simple dance move. Siti, as the country's number one singer, definitely ranks high up every list, and her new Raya single Raya Nak Ke Mana? is fourth-placed. Catchy with meaningful lyrics, this sing-along song is an easy-listening tune to accompany every balik kampung journey, for it is all about keeping Raya traditions alive. Raya Nak Ke Mana? has also garnered 4 million views on YouTube. Another Siti who is a sweetheart to most music lovers, Siti Nordiana, shows her perennial sweet side with the melodious and soothing Hari Lebaran. This song is number five, and talks about scrumptious Raya food, the warmth of being with one's family and seeking forgiveness in the spirit of kindness. The other top five songs are Wany Hasrita's Raya Telah Tiba, Umairah's Tak Balik Raya which is specially for those who have to work during Raya, Dayang Nurfaizah's Jodoh Hari Raya about finding love during Raya, the Aisha Retno and Aziz Harun duet Ketipak Ketipung Raya which is an update of their 2024 version, and Iman Fandi's Hari Raya Raya Raya which is humorous and comes with a special dance.

Syasya Rizal admits challenges in changing her ways
12 Mar - Syasya Rizal recently admitted that changing for the better has not been easy for her, as she faced various challenges following her departure from DOLLA. The 24-year-old singer, who tied the knot and began wearing a hijab following her decision to leave the group, said that she was truly tested following the decision that made her want to return to her past life at times. "People think that I am somehow pious now. But I am still the same person, just trying to be a better person," she said. At the same time, Syasya said that she always has to remind herself to not be arrogant in the process of transforming herself. "To all the women out there who are struggling to be consistent, it is okay to do it slowly. Do not force yourself. We don't all have the same journey, so don't compare yourself to others," she said. Syasya Rizal to come back with an Eid song
5 Mar - Nearly a year after leaving DOLLA, Syasya Rizal announced that she is set to release her first Eid song as a solo singer. The 24-year-old singer shared the good news recently, saying that she has recorded a song composed by Adib Husain and Ja'a back in February, just as she completed her confinement after the delivery of her baby. "God willing, if everything goes well, my single will come out on 7 March," she said. Syasya also said that she has already filmed the music video for the song, which she declined to elaborate more. The singer admitted that she had no plan to make a comeback initially despite her husband having no issue with her being in the industry, but changed her mind after receiving an offer from Universal Music Malaysia. "I thought that this can be a gift for fans who have been missing me. I also have a surprise for fans in the music video, so you have to wait," she enthused. Syasya departed from DOLLA in early 2024 before announcing her marriage to husband Nasrullah in April the same year. Her son Muhammad Yassir Hayyan is now three months old. (Photo Source: Syasya IG)
