Post Malone's Biggest Hit Beats His New Country Smashes As It Grows

Post Malone's current hits on the Billboard charts showcase just how diverse his musical output has been throughout his career. The superstar claims a pair of country wins in the United States, but it's one of his hip-hop-leaning tracks that continues to gain ground globally — years after it became one of the most successful tracks in American history. "Sunflower," Malone's collaboration with Swae Lee, currently appears on four Billboard rankings. Two of these tallies are based entirely on U.S. consumption, while the track also manages to live on a pair of global rosters. The cut, which was written and recorded for the film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, is currently the only one of Malone's charting tunes that lifts across every list on which it appears — an incredibly impressive feat for a cut that was originally a smash in 2018. This week, "Sunflower" inches to No. 11 on the Rap Streaming Songs chart, nearing the top 10 once more. It also breaks back into the top 20 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs ranking, climbing from No. 22 to No. 20. At the same time, Malone's tune ascends a few spots on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., settling at No. 171. It appears almost 50 spaces higher on the Billboard Global 200, landing at No. 127. "Sunflower" is the highest-certified song in U.S. history, as it remains the only double diamond tune. That means that in the U.S. alone, it has shifted 20 million equivalent units, combining sales and streaming activity. Its consistent consumption has kept it on all four of the Billboard charts mentioned for at least 100 weeks, while it is approaching 250 weeks on the global tallies. Malone also scores a pair of country wins in America, as both "I Had Some Help" and "I Ain't Coming Back," which both feature Morgan Wallen, appear on at least half a dozen tallies apiece. "I Had Some Help" has been around for well over a year, and is amazingly still the stronger performer of the two in many respects. The collaboration lifts to No. 15 on the Hot 100, 56 weeks into its tenure on the tally. Meanwhile, "I Ain't Coming Back," after just seven frames, dips to No. 21.

FIFA Adds Team Songs, Fan Chants to the Club World Cup

FIFA has announced that every team in the tournament will have its official anthem played before matches. That includes Wydad Casablanca, who are in a tough group with Manchester City, Juventus and Al Ain. Each club has been asked to send in an anthem that reflects its history and identity. The idea is to create a more personal and exciting pre-match atmosphere for both players and fans. That's not the only change. For the first round of group games, teams will also get to pick a club legend or their current captain to announce the starting line-up over the stadium speakers. And there's more. FIFA is also bringing back Freed from Desire – the '90s hit that became a terrace anthem after Wigan fans gave it a football twist in 2016. The song will play in every match and be part of the tournament's broadcasts. 'Fans made this song a football classic,' FIFA said. 'We want to honour that.' The tournament will kick off with a big opening ceremony next Saturday at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium. The show starts at 7:15 p.m. local time (just after midnight in Morocco) and will feature performances from the Moroccan rapper French Montana and Swae Lee. The concert will be streamed live and free on DAZN and marks the start of what FIFA says will be the biggest Club World Cup yet, with 32 teams playing across 11 cities in the US. But it's not just about music and festivities. The opening and halftime shows will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million to help children around the world get access to quality education and football. One dollar from every ticket sold will go to the fund. 'We're going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment,' said singer Tems, who joins J Balvin and Doja Cat for the final's halftime show. Tags: Club World CupDoja CatFIFAFrench Montana

FIFA Promises Spectacular Club World Cup Ceremony Starring Morocco's French Montana

Rabat — FIFA is gearing up for a grand opening ceremony for the FIFA Club World Cup, which is coming next Saturday. The opening ceremony will take place at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium at 7:15 p.m. local time, which is after midnight in Morocco. The lineup for the grand opening ceremony will see superstars like Morocco's French Montana, as well as Swae Lee. 'Adding some global firepower to the line-up, hitmakers French Montana and Swae Lee will keep raising the energy levels just before the ball starts rolling with a genre-blending, high-octane performance – bringing a rap style that moves seamlessly between melody and momentum,' FIFA said on its website. Proud of his Moroccan roots, French Montana has many famous hits, including 'Unforgettable', 'Welcome to the Party', 'Famous', and 'All the Way Up'. Several rising stars will also be featured, including Vikina and Richaelio, with FIFA certain that they will bring 'rhythm, movement, and unmistakable Latin flair to a powerful performance.' The performance is produced by Emilio Esteefan Jr. 'We're welcoming the world to Miami with music, joy, and unity,' Estegan said, noting that the show will celebrate a multicultural sound from across the world. Morocco's Wydad Casablanca is among the clubs participating in the giant competition. The Moroccan club is among the challenging Group G, which includes champions like Manchester City, Juventus, as well as the UAE's Al Ain. Wydad will play against Manchester City at 5 p.m. Moroccan time, allowing fans to cheer on the Moroccan players racing for the FIFA Club World Cup trophy. The opening game will take place between Bayern Munich and Auckland City at 5 p.m. Moroccan time, followed by several other games, including Al Ahly vs Inter Miami at 1 a.m. Moroccan time. PSG versus Atlético Madrid will also be on Sunday at 8 p.m., as well as Palmeiras versus Porto at 11 p.m. Tags: Draw of the FIFA Club World CupFrench Montana

Post Malone's First Country Hit Has Proved To Be A Career-Defining Smash

Post Malone fills two spots on the Hot 100 this week, and both of his wins share a common thread: they're collaborations with Morgan Wallen. His pair of wins with the superstar came to him fairly early in his rise in a genre that was unfamiliar to him until about a year ago. Impressively, the bigger of the two singles is also the older, yet it seems Americans aren't tired of the behemoth tune. "I Had Some Help" has now spent 53 weeks on the Hot 100. With just one more frame on the ranking — which measures the most consumed tracks in the U.S. by blending radio airplay, sales, and streaming — it ties as Malone's second-longest-charting tune ever. As it hits that number, the Wallen collaboration matches "Sunflower," his hit with Swae Lee. The first of Malone's two Wallen duets will almost surely break that match soon. The single is still holding at No. 13 , which means it is unlikely to fall off the Hot 100 anytime soon. Just last week, "I Had Some Help" was on the same level as "Better Now," which has now become Malone's third-longest-running Hot 100 success. "Better Now" keeps in that position while "I Had Some Help" moves ahead. "I Had Some Help" will need to remain on the Hot 100 for about two more months before it catches up to Malone's longest-running hit, "Circles.' That tune, which has ranked as his longest-running smash on the tally for years now, spent 61 weeks on the list beginning in September 2019. That pop cut was largely sustained by radio airplay, and spent three weeks at No. 1. "I Had Some Help" currently ranks more than 10 spaces above Malone's most recent Hot 100 entry, "I Ain't Coming Back." That second collaboration with Wallen is featured on the latter star's new album, I'm the Problem, while "I Had Some Help" led Malone's first country full-length, F-1 Trillion. Amazingly, "I Had Some Help" isn't only performing well on the Hot 100. It also resides in the top 10 on the Adult Contemporary, Country Streaming Songs, and Hot Country Songs charts. It continues to climb and remains inside the top 20 on both the Streaming Songs and Radio Songs rankings as well.
