Missing Montreal girl, 3, found in eastern Ontario

The girl last seen on Sunday at approximately 9:45 a.m. in LaSalle, a borough of Montreal, according to police. She was found in St. Albert, Ont. Wednesday afternoon, police say. The toddler's mother has been arrested. Rachel-Ella Todd, 34, appeared in court on Monday evening to be charged with child abandonment. CTV News Ottawa has removed the toddler's name and identifying information from this article.

(THE CANADIAN PRESS/Christinne Muschi) An 18-year-old Gatineau, Que. man is facing $6,200 in fines and may face charges after being observed driving over 200 km/h on a highway in western Quebec over the weekend. The Sûreté du Québec says at approximately 11 a.m. Saturday, officers spotted a vehicle travelling at excessive speeds on Hwy. 50 at the Georges exit. Police say the driver was going 158 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. 'As the officer's vehicle merged with traffic to intercept the vehicle, the vehicle made several zigzag passes and was travelling at over 200 km/h,' police said in a media release Monday morning. 'The officer lost sight of the vehicle but continued on to locate it.' The officer provided information to Gatineau police and officers with MRC Papineau. 'A few minutes later, police were notified that a similar vehicle had collided with a guardrail on Chemin Lépine,' police said. 'At the scene, the officer confirmed that it was indeed the same vehicle.' Police say the driver could face charges of dangerous driving and fleeing. 'He also received tickets totalling $6,276 and 22 demerit points for speeding, driving a vehicle at a speed likely to endanger the safety of others, driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, and failing to stop his vehicle immediately when required to do so by a peace officer in the course of his duties.: The vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
