SEC holds meeting, discusses progress of government work
Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) held its meeting on Tuesday, chaired by Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Executive Council, and attended by Sheikh Abdullah Bin Salem Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council. During its meeting, held at the Ruler's Court, the Council discussed a number of general topics related to the progress of government work, the general policies of government departments and agencies, and their role in achieving the vision and strategy of the Emirate of Sharjah. The Council issued a resolution regulating brokerage in Souq Al Haraj. It prohibits any natural person from engaging in brokerage activities in the Auto Market without obtaining a permit issued by the Sharjah Asset Management Company, in accordance with the terms and conditions specified by the company. The resolution also stipulates administrative penalties for violators of the resolution, as well as judicial enforcement action against employees approved by the competent authority and issued by a decision of the President of the Judicial Council. The Council reviewed the Sharjah Airport Authority's annual report for 2024, which included the Authority's most notable achievements in passenger and aircraft traffic, modern services, and new projects that keep pace with the airport's growth. According to the report, passenger traffic increased in 2024, reaching more than 17 million passengers. Aircraft traffic indicators and air cargo volume also witnessed a significant increase, reflecting the great confidence in and distinguished services provided by Sharjah International Airport. The report covered the progress and completion rates of new projects within a series of development and expansion projects at Sharjah International Airport, as well as the modern services and facilities added to enhance the airport's leading position. These include the addition of 12 new aircraft stands, the expansion of the passenger check-in area, and the completion of the new engineering and maintenance building. It also included an increase in destinations and the attraction of new passenger and cargo airlines. The Council also learned about the awards and accreditations Sharjah International Authority received in 2024, including the airport's accreditation as a child- and family-friendly destination, and the Authority's recognition as part of the 'Building Better Airports' initiative for its exceptional commitment to developing its infrastructure. Last week, the Sharjah Executive Council during its weekly meeting chaired by Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi issued a decision to promote Maryam Majid Saeed Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Branch of the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), to the position of Department Director under the special job system of the Government of Sharjah, and appointed her as Director of the SSSD. The Council discussed a number of topics related to monitoring the performance of local departments and authorities to ensure the best possible services are delivered to the community across various sectors and fields. The Council issued a decision promoting Maryam Majid Saeed Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Branch at the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), to the position of Department Director under the special job classification system in the Government of Sharjah, and appointed her as Director of the SSSD. The Council approved recommendations related to the Temporary Housing System and updates to its regulatory framework — one of Sharjah's pioneering housing initiatives. The initiative aims to provide top-quality services to citizens, address their needs, support family stability, and ensure suitable housing for emergency cases. The Council was briefed on the details of the Temporary Housing System report, which covered eligibility cases for temporary housing support, conditions, and the various entities contributing to the initiative's objectives. It also included key statistics regarding submitted and distributed applications across Sharjah's cities and regions, financial costs, challenges, proposed solutions, and recommendations. WAM

Sharjah Ruler attends Eid Al Fitr prayer at Al Badi' Musalla
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, along with Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah; Sheikh Abdullah Bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah; and Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, performed the Eid Al-Fitr prayer at Al Badi' Musalla in Sharjah city on Sunday morning. Alongside the Ruler of Sharjah, the prayer was attended by several prominent figures, including Sheikh Khaled Bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ports, Customs, and Free Zones Authority; Sheikh Salem Bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ruler's Office; Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Charity International; Sheikh Saud Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director-General of the Sharjah Digital Department; as well as several other sheikhs and high-ranking officials, including Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, and Dr. Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council. The Eid sermon was delivered by Sheikh Abdullah Al Hammadi, who praised the significance of Eid Al-Fitr, which follows the noble act of fasting during the holy month of Ramadan. He thanked Allah for granting Muslims the strength to fast and pray, and highlighted the importance of giving Zakat Al Fitr and the conditions for its acceptance. Sheikh Al Hammadi emphasised the importance of maintaining strong family ties, especially honouring parents, as a key path to paradise. He encouraged good treatment of parents, helping them in life, speaking kindly, and striving to please them. The more one shows kindness, the greater the blessings and sustenance. He also stressed the significance of raising children in a righteous way to help them serve their religion and nation. The preacher stressed the importance of remaining committed to worship and good deeds, emphasising the importance of involving families and children in religious practices to foster a healthy community grounded in Islamic values. He prayed for the continued prosperity and blessings of the UAE. After the prayer, the Ruler of Sharjah exchanged Eid greetings with sheikhs, senior officials, dignitaries, and citizens, as well as residents from the Arab and Islamic communities, celebrating this blessed occasion. Sharjah Crown Prince attends launch of the ‘Aqari' platform
Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, attended on Monday the official launch of Aqari, the emirate's integrated digital platform for real estate services. Developed by Sharjah Digital Department (SDD), the platform brings together over 20 local and federal government entities to digitise and streamline real estate procedures, reinforcing Sharjah's commitment to innovation and accelerating digital transformation. The event in Aljada commenced with the UAE national anthem, followed by a welcome address from Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of the Sharjah Digital Department. He extended his appreciation to the Crown Prince of Sharjah, and the esteemed guests, expressing pride in the launch of Aqari as a landmark step in Sharjah's digital transformation journey. In his speech, he highlighted that the platform embodies Sharjah's ambitious vision for a fully digitised service ecosystem, leveraging cutting-edge technology and smart data to offer proactive, innovative, and human-centric services. The initiative aims to enhance quality of life, elevate user experiences, and strengthen the emirate's investment appeal, positioning Sharjah as a leader in digital governance and smart services. He further emphasised that Aqari was developed with a clear objective: to streamline real estate services, enhance transparency, and drive economic growth. He expressed his gratitude to the dedicated teams from both government and private sectors for their unwavering commitment to making this initiative a success. Acknowledging the collaborative efforts behind the platform, he highlighted that Aqari is a testament to partnership, dedication, and teamwork, reinforcing Sharjah's vision for a seamless and efficient digital ecosystem. Concluding his remarks, Sheikh Saud Bin Sultan Al Qasimi stated: 'This integration among various stakeholders is a cornerstone for driving comprehensive digital transformation in Sharjah. It is the foundation for realising our ambitious vision of 'human-centred digital innovation.' We are confident that 'Aqari' will be a valuable addition, fulfilling our collective aspirations.' Following the address, His Highness viewed a video presentation showcasing the project team's efforts, the platform's services, and a step-by-step user journey. The presentation demonstrated how users can seamlessly obtain digital certificates and documents without the need to visit service centres, underscoring Sharjah's commitment to enhancing efficiency and user experience through digital transformation. Additionally, His Highness was introduced to the application process through a live demonstration of the tenancy contract authentication service. Previously requiring seven steps and an in-person visit to a service centre, the process has now been streamlined into just three simple steps: (1) Logging into the platform, selecting a property, and filling in contract details. (2) Submission and approval by the relevant authority. (3) Payment of fees and automatic issuance of the digital contract through a fully automated process. Following the demonstration, His Highness honoured local, federal, and private sector entities involved in developing Aqari, presenting them with commemorative shields and posing for group photographs. He extended his best wishes for continued collaboration and success, recognising the collective efforts that brought the platform to life. The Aqari platform results from collaboration between over 200 experts from various government and private sector entities. The project has already achieved a customer satisfaction rate exceeding 90%, with 25% of target companies registering within 20 days. During its pilot phase, the platform saw over 4,700 real estate units added to the system, alongside nearly 100 training workshops conducted to ensure operational readiness. More than 240 specialised users were also trained, reinforcing the platform's continuity and effectiveness, supported by a comprehensive customer service system through the Sharjah Contact Centre. The launch ceremony was attended by Sheikh Salem Bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ruler's Office; Sheikh Fahim Bin Sultan Bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Executive Chairman of the Department of Government Relations; HE Sheikh Saud Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Integrated Real Estate Services Platform Committee and Director General of the Sharjah Digital Department; Sheikh Rashid Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah Finance Department; Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdullah Bin Majid Al Qasimi, Director of Department of Municipal Affairs; and Sheikh Saud Bin Mohammed Bin Saud Al Qasimi, CEO of the Real Estate Sector at Sharjah Asset Management and Senior officials and representatives from participating entities.

Sharjah sets up cyber security centre to keep information safe and secure
Gulf Today, Staff Reporter Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, chaired the Council regular meeting held on Tuesday, at the Ruler's Office, with the presence of Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council. During the meeting, the Council talked about various topics, including how to improve and oversee the work of government departments in Sharjah. They also discussed important laws and plans aimed at enhancing the quality of services available to the public throughout the Emirate. The Council has announced the establishment of the Sharjah Cyber Security Centre, which will operate under the Digital Sharjah umbrella. The main goal of the centre is to create a complete system for keeping information safe and secure. It will focus on raising awareness about cyber security and training people to ensure that our information is protected effectively and sustainably. The centre is tasked with developing rules and guidelines to keep information and online activities safe. It watches over how well these rules are followed by government agencies in the emirate. The centre also works to bring together different public and private organizations, both locally and internationally, to enhance collaboration. In addition, it offers technical help and advice on information security issues and partners with research groups to study topics related to online safety and security. The Council has announced the appointment of Abdul Nasser Obaid Ibrahim Bu Khater as the new Director of the Sharjah Cyber Security Centre. The Council has examined a proposed law aimed at overseeing the judicial system in Sharjah. This new law is designed to ensure that the judicial authority operates independently within the emirate. It clearly outlines the roles and responsibilities of various entities involved in the judicial process, including the Judicial Council, the Judicial Department, the courts, the prosecution, judicial inspections, and the regulations concerning judges. The Council has decided to send the proposed law about the judicial authority in Sharjah to the Sharjah Consultative Council. This is for them to discuss and finalize it during their legislative session.
