13-year-old girl killed in bomb blast during Trinamool victory rally in Nadia
A minor girl studying in Class IV died in a bomb explosion during a victory procession organised by the

in Barochandgar, under the Krishnanagar area, after the party swept the
Kaliganj Assembly bypoll
in
West Bengal
's Nadia district with a margin of around 49,755 votes.
'Today, a 13-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries sustained from a bomb explosion in Kaliganj PS area of Krishnanagar police district. We shall spare no stone unturned to nab the culprits who were behind the incident. Raids are on in full swing to arrest those responsible for this extremely unfortunate death. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family members of the deceased. Police shall take strong and decisive legal action against the culprits at the earliest. expressed grief and shock at the incident. 'I am shocked and deeply saddened at the death of a young girl in an explosion at Barochandgar in Krishnanagar police district. My prayers and thoughts are with the family in their hour of grief.'
The minor girl (13) was reportedly going to take a bath in the nearby pond with her mother when the bomb reportedly hit her and exploded, people in the know said.
'There was a bombing going on in the area, and I was caught by the miscreants and my daughter died. I have been a voter of CPI-M for several generations,' the girl's mother said.

Trinamool leader Sujan Chakraborty, condemning the incident, said, "This is a very unfortunate and dirty incident. Celebrations by Trinamool cannot be with bombs. Post-poll violence in this state has been witnessed today. There is no language to condemn the incident."
After completion of all 23 rounds of counting, Trinamool Congress candidate Alifa Ahmed's winning margin stood at 49,755 votes.
Kaliganj is a minority-dominated constituency with around 60 per cent Muslim voters.
West Bengal witnessed incident-free bypolls for the first time in the last few years. The state has been marred with pre-poll, poll day, and post-poll violence in the last few years since 2021.
