Findlay added to new-look Hearts
Defender Stuart Findlay has joined Hearts on loan from English Championship side, Oxford United. The 29-year-old started his career in the Celtic youth system and had loan spells at Morton, Dumbarton and Kilmarnock. He then moved to Newcastle United and was loaned back to Rugby Park, signing for the Ayrshire club on a permanent basis. Findlay has played for Scotland, scoring in the 6-0 Euro 2000 qualifier against San Marino. A spell with Philadelphia Union in America followed before he returned to Britain to play for Oxford United. The centre-half then switched back to Scotland, helping Kilmarnock finish fourth in the league. Derek McInnes, Hearts' head coach, (pictured) said: 'I know his attributes and every aspect of his game and he is a real leader on the pitch.' Meanwhile, Hearts have appointed Ross Grant as their first set-piece coach. He joins from Dundee United and has 15 years of experience to add to the Tynecastle team's coaching team. Findlay targeting success & scenes at Tynecastle with McInnes
Stuart Findlay hopes to get Tynecastle "bouncing" after joining Hearts on a season-long loan and reuniting with manager Derek Oxford United centre-back spent the past two seasons on loan at Kilmarnock with McInnes, who "knows how to get the best out of me" and was "a massive factor" in Findlay signing for Hearts. The 29-year-old credits McInnes for "rediscovering" his career and insists he knows what the manager demands to deliver success."It's a massive, massive club who I've played against - I've played at this stadium many times and you know by the atmosphere, the supporters out there, it's a fantastic place to play football," Findlay told club media. "It's a place I love to play my football. I think anybody who's played here, anyone who knows their football knows the type of arena Tynecastle can be when it's bouncing, and hopefully, with the season we're all planning on having, it'll be like that more than it's not. I just really can't wait to get started."Doubled up with the fact there's a manager who I know believes in me and a manager who I believe in."I've got a really good working relationship with him for our previous club and it's something I'm really looking forward to try and bring forward into this new chapter in my career."He really helped me rediscover my form after a couple of years of not playing. That's another massive reason why I've come here, he's a manager who knows how to get the best out of me. Findlay rejoins McInnes on loan to Hearts from Oxford
Stuart Findlay has joined Heart of Midlothian on a season-long loan from Oxford United, with head coach Derek McInnes expressing his delight at being able to work with the "domineering defender" once 29-year-old centre-half was on loan to Kilmarnock for the last two seasons and now follows his manager at Rugby Park to say Findlay will leave the Championship club next summer when his contract told Hearts' website: "Stuart is obviously someone I know very well from the years we've previously spent working together. "I know his attributes and every aspect of his game. He's a domineering defender, strong and athletic, and he is a real leader on and off the pitch."Findlay, who has one cap for Scotland, started his career as a youth Celtic before spells on loan to Greenock Morton, Dumbarton and Kilmarnock before a switch to Newcastle United in failed to break into the first-team, he return to Scotland on loan to Kilmarnock before a permanent switch in 2018.A move to Philadelphia Union followed in 2021 before joining Oxford in being a near ever-present in his first season with the then League One outfit, he returned north for another spell in Ayrshire.

The centre-back will spend the duration of the 2025-26 season at Tynecastle, where he reunites with new Hearts boss Derek McInnes, who worked with the 29-year-old at Kilmarnock during back-to-back loan moves from the English Championship side over the past two years.
