FaZe Jason addresses death threats after viral Streamer Prom date

FaZe Clan member Jason 'Jasontheween' is speaking out after receiving harassment and death threats following his appearance at the Streamer Prom event with Sakura Shymko, the younger sister of streamer Kyedae. Held on June 18 in Houston and organized by Twitch streamer Funny Mike, the prom was inspired by Kai Cenat's Streamer University. Jason and Sakura quickly became one of the most talked-about pairs after a viral clip showed Sakura kissing Jason during the event. Following the clip's spread across platforms like X (formerly Twitter), online speculation began to circulate suggesting Sakura wasn't genuinely interested in Jason. This led to a wave of negativity and threatening messages directed at both creators. In a public post, Jason addressed the backlash: 'Sakura and I are fine. Please stop sending death threats and harassment, especially toward her. Our streams are for entertainment, but things can be misinterpreted.' Sakura and I are fine. Please stop sending death threats and harassment, especially toward her. Our streams are for entertainment, but things can be misinterpreted. Today didn't go as expected, but we're grateful for the support. Please be kind, we're all human. Thank you. — FaZe Jason (@jasontheween) June 19, 2025 He went on to thank fans for their support and urged kindness in the community. 'Please be kind, we're all human,' he added. Many fans rallied behind Jason and Sakura in the comments, condemning the threats. One user wrote, 'Death threats over a Twitch stream should result in a felony.' This incident follows a similar case in March when Valkyrae faced threats after a stream-sniping controversy. The growing trend highlights the increasing emotional intensity around parasocial relationships in the streaming world.

Wale Confronts Kai Cenat After Streamer Doesn't Recognize Him At 2025 BET Awards

Kai Cenat, as usual, brought his beloved 'chat' along for his night out at the 2025 BET Awards, which included his awkward run-in with Wale, as the streamer didn't recognize the DMV-bred MC. Later that evening, the 'Blanco' rapper approached the streaming sensation for the likely unintended swipe. Cenat, 23, first crossed paths with the rapper born Olubowale Victor Akintimehin, 40, in a parking garage servicing the Peacock Theater event, with Wale walking by playing a game on his Nintendo Switch when Cenat greeted him and asked what game he was playing. Wale then kept it pushing as Kai hopped into his vehicle, revealing to his chat that he had no idea who the gentleman was, as he was apparently just being friendly. After fans informed the streamer of who Wale was, he proceeded to mispronounce the rapper's stage name as 'Wally' (wah-lee). 'Wally, oh my god, that was somebody crazy, the whole chat knows him,' he told his crew, with one of his associates correcting Cenat's pronunciation. 'What he do?' Cenat asked, with his friend answering, 'Rap,' name dropping one of Wale's biggest hits, 'Lotus Flower Bomb,' hoping to jog Kai's memory to no avail. With Kai live-streaming the moment, it immediately went viral, resulting in Wale later approaching the Streamer University creator while he attempted to interview BET Awards Honoree Snoop Dogg. 'That sh*t making me look crazy now, just so you know,' the 'No Hands' spitter told Kai. 'That's making me look crazy, the exchange we had in the hallway. I mean, they running with it, but we'll talk later.' Check out the full interaction below. Some observers chopped it up to Kai simply being too young to know Wale's best work, with one fan offering via X, 'Kai is 23, Wale is 40 lmao. Can't be hurt that a mf don't know who you are. Everybody didn't grow up being a 'hip hop' fan.' Another fan wrote, 'Diced Pineapples came out when Kai was 11, he just might not know you g.' Others, however, don't accept that excuse, as Kai is well versed in artists of Wale's same class, such as Drake. 'Kai Cenat really just a jit cus you couldn't have grown up on Drake and J. Cole and not know who Wale was,' offered one observer, with another calling Kai's Hip-Hop credentials into question. 'I'm not the biggest Wale fan. However I do feel like 'How the hell you in this rap culture sh*t And you don't know who wale is at all' You uncultured as a mf lol.' Ironically, Wale's recent visit to The Joe Budden Podcast found him discussing the lack of Hip-Hop knowledge held by popular streamers within the culture. Check out the pod episode below. Kai Cenat On Not Recognizing Wale At BET Awards: 'How Can You Blame Me? I'm Young!'

Streamer Kai Cenat has addressed the awkward moment where he ran into Wale at the 2025 BET Awards without recognizing the DMV rapper. Cenat took to his beloved chat Thursday (June 12) to address the moment, saying that he hopes Wale didn't take the snub to heart. 'I'mma go ahead and say to Wale, I hope he didn't take my interaction personal…how can you blame me from being who I am? You feel me? I'm young!' He then proceeded to play Wale single 'Lotus Flower Bomb' featuring Miguel, saying that he knows the song, but then questions what year it dropped, which is 2011. '2011? I was nine years old.' Many agreed that Cenat, 23, should be cut some slack for not recognizing the 'LoveHate Thing' artist, 40, with one fan commenting, 'It's just like my dad saying he doesn't know Olivia Rodrigo.. I won't even sweat about it.' Most fans, however, don't believe the Streamer University creator's age is an excuse, — if he claims to be a lover of Hip-Hop music and culture — as Wale has dropped several successful singles and albums since 2011. Others noted that Wale is in the same class as artists Kai does recognize, such as Kid Cudi and J. Cole, who are also in there early 40s. 'Biggie died when I was 9 and I know all his music.. kai you are uncultured, kid,' offered one critic, with another writing, 'When I was 9 I knew artists way before my time.' Another fan brought up the fact that Cenat welcomed Vybz Kartel to his chat following his 2024 prison release, and knew songs released by the Dancehall legend from the early 2000s, before he caught a murder charge in 2014. 'He don't know Wale ft Rihanna bad (2013), but he know Vybz Kartel songs like 'Clarks' came out 2011 from Jamaica, and don't know mainstream US artists that dropped round that time.' The original incident found Wale and Kai crossing paths at Tuesday's (June 10) BET Awards, where they dapped each other up, exchanged a quick greeting, and kept it moving. Kai then revealed to his chat that he had no idea who he was speaking to, pronouncing his name 'Wally.' Wale later confronted the streamer over the moment, telling him, 'That sh*t making me look crazy now, just so you know.' Check out the interaction below.
