Kate Middleton just wore a bag from one of her favourite affordable luxury brands
The Princess of Wales stepped out in an all-white ensemble at the annual Garter Day celebrations in Windsor. Kate Middleton was joined by the Duchess of Edinburgh to watch the procession, which was led by the King and Queen, along with the Prince of Wales, the Princess Royal and the Duke of Edinburgh. No stranger to rewearing designer pieces, the princess chose a Self Portrait belted blazer and lace trim midi skirt for the occasion - an outfit she was seen in weeks ago at the VE Day Concert. But when it came to accessorising, Kate returned to one of her favourite affordable luxury bag brands: Strathberry. The princess carried the multrees chain wallet in vanilla/diamond under her arm. In fact, she previously wore the same design at Garter Day in 2023 and also owns the bag in a navy embossed croc. Characterised by their signature bar closure, piped handles and foil-embossed emblem, the Edinburgh-based brands also counts the likes of Katie Holmes and Sarah Jessica Parker among its fans, as well as fellow royals Princess Eugenie and the Duchess of Edinburgh. While other luxury bags could set you back upwards of £1,000, the multrees bag comes in at less than £300. Here's everything you need to know. Handcrafted in Spain, the multrees wallet can be carried as a clutch or as a crossbody bag thanks to the removable gold chain strap. Complete with a magnetic closure, the bag is elevated by Strathberry's signature gold music bar. The generous interior features eight card slots and a zipped pocket with a leather pull. Perfectly complementing the princess's elegant and understated look, the minimalist bag is a timeless investment.

Princess Kate kicks off Wimbledon whites trend with surprisingly affordable bag
Ahead of this year's Wimbledon, Kate Middleton has already been spotted in a chic head-to-toe white outfit that includes a surprisingly affordable white clutch bag Every year without fail, the return of Wimbledon also sees a rise in head-to-toe white outfits inspired by the players' on-court athleticwear. Whilst we may not be hitting the tennis court ourselves, we do love a niche fashion trend, especially one that's as sophisticated and elegant as an all-white ensemble – and it seems even the Royal family isn't immune to the power of the look. Kate Middleton was spotted today at the Order of the Garter looking effortlessly elegant in a top-to-toe white outfit, which included a re-wear of her now sold out Self Portrait Pleated Woven Midi Dress. Princess Kate also accessorised with another piece she wears on repeat; her Strathberry Multrees Chain Wallet. Although she's been spotted on multiple occasions carrying the navy version of the clutch bag, for the Order of the Garter Princess Kate opted for the white version of the bag. Unlike many of her more pricey designer bags, the Strathberry bag is surprisingly affordable at £295, and whilst it's still a little splurge, it's also a fantastic investment that you can pair with plenty of outfits for all kinds of occasions. The versatile Multrees Chain Wallet can be carried as both a clutch bag or as a cross body thanks to the detachable gold chain, with Kate seen carrying it both ways over the years. It fastens with a magnetic closure for added security, and has a surprisingly spacious interior despite its 11cm x 20.2cm size, with eight card slots and a zipped pocket to store your belongings. The website also shows it being large enough to fit an iPhone 14 Plus, Airpods, lipstick and your keys inside – everything you need before attending an event. It's made from 100% calf leather with a smooth finish, making it durable and timeless, and the gold hardware gives it an added sophisticated touch. If you want to mirror Princess Kate's look for an event you have coming up – we could absolutely see this ensemble working somewhere like Royal Ascot – then the Strathberry Multrees Chain Wallet is a great addition. Although her Self Portrait dress is sold out, we did manage to find some fantastic alternatives to complete the look. Sticking to the same brand, this Self-Portrait Panelled Bouclé And Satin Tailored Maxi Dress is available for £460 and swaps Princess Kate's pleated lace-trimmed skirt for a flowing satin design instead. If you loved the floaty, pleated look however, this Karen Millen Tailored Crepe Asymmetric Pleated Skirt Blazer Midaxi Dress is a great option. Currently on sale with 60% off, it's slashed from its usual price of £269 to £108 and has a draped pleated skirt with an asymmetrical midaxi hemline. The blazer also has an asymmetric design with a sharply tailored waist that creates a flattering silhouette not too dissimilar to Kate's.

BGF commits three billion pounds in investments for UK businesses
Barclays-founded BGF has outlined a three billion pound commitment to invest in high-potential UK businesses as it looks to scale support for growth in early-stage firms. Over the next five years, the firm, which has previously invested in fashion brands like Seasalt and Strathberry, wishes to back British businesses to help drive their success, the company's chief executive officer, Andy Gregory, said in a release. He continued: 'BGF is an investment platform built to solve a hard problem. With our platform advantage, we've proven we can deploy scaleup capital into a broad base of UK businesses, in a way that is commercially rigorous, regionally inclusive, and can help businesses grow in all conditions. 'Few investors have the nationwide reach to deploy capital at the scale required to make a meaningful difference to the UK's scaleup landscape, and this next phase is about leveraging our platform advantage to unlock even greater impact for UK plc.' As part of the pledge, BGF is dedicating 300 million pounds of the fund to supporting female-powered businesses, an extension of its prior 25 million pound commitment to the Invest in Women Taskforce initiative. In her own statement, Debbie Wosskow, co-chair of the Invest in Women Taskforce, said the investment is 'one of the largest ever made in the UK'. She added: 'It marks a turning point in how we back women-led enterprise and is exactly the kind of action that can start to reshape our business landscape for the better.'

Cinq à Sept expands with new boutique at Newport Beach
New York-based women's ready-to-wear brand Cinq à Sept has announced the opening of a new boutique in Newport Beach, at the Fashion Island Mall. Designed to embody a Parisian apartment, the 1,200-square-foot boutique blends warm neutrals with refined textures, including Venetian plaster walls, brass accents, wood finishes, custom furnishings and an artistic porcelain chandelier. It opens with the brand's Summer 2025 collection, featuring an array of dresses, separates, suiting and footwear embodying the brand's signature femininity. The boutique marks the brand's third standalone retail location and its first in California, following its 2023 flagship debut in SoHo and a Miami opening in late 2024. "California has always felt like home to us, given it's where our company was founded,' said Jane Siskin, founder and CEO of Cinq à Sept. 'Opening our first California store at Fashion Island Mall is a natural evolution—one that deepens the meaningful connections we've built over the years. We're excited to join the vibrant Newport Beach community and create a space where our customers can experience the world of Cinq à Sept.' Founded in 2016, Cinq à Sept has built a loyal following with its modern classics designed to carry a woman from day to night. Most recently, in the fall of 2024, the brand expanded into footwear. Also on the horizon is a handbag collaboration with Scottish accessories brand Strathberry, set to launch in Fall 2025. Looking ahead, the brand plans to roll-out several more brick-and-mortar locations in key markets.
