Halifax's Macdonald Bridge to be closed on Wednesday, Saturday nights for 3 weeks

(Stephanie Tsicos/CTV Atlantic) The Macdonald Bridge in Halifax will be closed to all vehicle traffic from midnight to 5 a.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays for the next three weeks. As part of Project LifeSpan – a $70-million, two-year effort to preserve the towers on the Macdonald Bridge – the structure will be shut down for two nights per week starting this Wednesday. The closures will allow crews to continue to build overhead platforms at the Dartmouth tower. The cycling lane and pedestrian walkway will stay open. The final closure is scheduled for June 14.
