Barbra Streisand Shares NSFW Detail About Fling with Longtime Pal Warren Beatty
Barbra Streisand is doubling down on a claim that she made in her 2023 memoir My Name Is Barbra about not remembering if she slept with her longtime friend Warren Beatty.
In an interview with The New Yorker, published on Saturday June 14, the A Star Is Born actress, 83, once again opened up about her fling with the 88-year-old Dick Tracy actor — and what may or may not have actually happened between them.
'I know I slept in the bed with him, but I can't remember if we actually had penetration,' Streisand told the outlet. 'I swear to God, I can't. There are certain things I block out.'
Not buying the music legend's account, the interviewer called 'bulls**t' on Streisand, adding that Beatty probably remembers what happened.
'No, that's right. I can't,' she replied. 'But I know we're still friends. Every year on my birthday, he calls me and we have a wonderful talk about our lives, our children, and so forth.'
'So, we're still friends,' she continued. 'I met him when I was fifteen years old, and he was twenty-one, I think.'
According to People, Streisand details meeting Beatty in her memoir, explaining that they first crossed paths while working together at Clinton Playhouse in Connecticut. In the book, described the Bugsy star as 'tall with movie-star looks, and women were already falling at his feet.'
The Funny Girl star also recalled being asked by Playboy in 1977 if she and Beatty had been 'romantically linked' to which she replied that he was 'one of my flings.'
In 2010, author Peter Biskind estimated in his book, Star: How Warren Beatty Seduced America, that Beatty — one of Hollywood's most infamous lotharios — had slept with close to 13,000 women throughout his life.
Beatty cleared up the rumor in a 2016 interview with AARP, hinting that the number is far from accurate. 'Think about it, sleeping with 12,775 people,' he told the outlet. 'That would mean not just that there were multiple people a day, but that there was no repetition.'
In 1992, Beatty wed actress Annette Bening. Streisand married Josh Brolin in 1998.
'I waited a long time to be married,' Beatty explained in the interview. 'When you don't get married until you're 54 … well, as Arthur Miller said, 'It comes with the territory.''
