Netflix dropped the final trailer for Squid Game Season 3, with Lee Jung Jae's Gi Hun gearing up for an epic showdown against Lee Byung Hun's Front Man to end the deadly games once and for all. The new trailer, out two weeks ahead of the June 27 premiere, sets a grim but satisfying tone, hinting that the story is moving in the right direction, regardless of its ending. Jun Ho (Wi Ha Joon) is still looking for the escape, unaware that the traitor is hiding in plain sight. Season 3 follows Gi Hun's last shot to save the contestants, with revenge driving the game and jaw-dropping twists waiting at every turn. With sombre music, the footage opens with a voiceover from Player 149 (played by Kang Ae Shim), who says to Player 456: 'Are you blaming yourself for everything that happened? No matter how you look at it, life is just unfair.' She continues, 'Bad people do bad things, but they blame others and go on to live in peace. Good people, on the other hand, beat themselves up about the smallest things. I still believe that you came here to save us all.' Fighting the violent flashbacks and the arrival of the VIPs, Gi Hun, with a determined look, says, 'I'm trying to put an end to it.' The final season of the South Korean series, inspired by a real-life game (minus the deadly twist), follows Gi Hun as he makes one last attempt to save the players, after failing the first time. This season, Im Si Wan's unborn child is likely going to be a game changer, as maker Hwang Dong Hyuk teased earlier. The trailer ends with Gi Hun being summoned by the Front Man, and for the day, he dresses up in a tuxedo, ready to battle it out. The trailer also teases the return of Red Light, Green Light robot, only this time, in its creepiest avatar yet. Fans are fully sold on the upcoming season, and it's not just because of the nerve-wracking trailer. Many viewers are praising the creators for choosing to end the story on a high note, rather than stretching it endlessly. One fan wrote, 'Honestly, I'm super glad they try not to extend the series as long as they can, but they actually want it to end. That's a good series.' Another said, 'Respect for the creators to not extend the show to infinity. Ending it here is the right call.' Viewers are also excited about the emotional weight of the trailer, especially Player 149's monologue, which struck a chord with many. The Squid Game season 3 trailer has arrived, and fans are already scared to tune into the final season after it teased a brutal faceoff between the Front Man and Gi Hun. Still haunted by the death of his friend Jung Bae, who died in season 2, Player 456 keeps asking, 'Why did you let me live?' only to be met with an even more irritating, sly smile. Now, the survivors from season 2 face deadlier new games—Netflix even confirms the return of the fear of heights, a thrill missing last season. Im Si Wan's role will likely steal the most screen time, with his unborn baby set to be the game changer. Characters who didn't get much screen time before, like Seon Nyeo, will have bigger roles, while favourites like Hyun Ju and Jang Geum Ja are coming back with more depth. Next, we see the main character, Gi Hun, confronting the guards, demanding to know why they kept him alive. He repeats, 'Why didn't you kill me? Why did you keep me alive?' before coming face to face with the Front Man (Lee Byung Hun). 'Player 456, do you still have faith in people?' Lee asks. One detail that stands out is the giant creepy doll from the first two seasons, Young Hee, who's still around but seems to play a different role this time. The trailer also hints at the return of the old Tug of War game from season 1, though the rules look a bit twisted this time. A brutal showdown takes place in the same children's room as teased in the posters, its walls marked by paintings that look like they were drawn by a kid, hinting that the baby born in hell has finally arrived to test how low humanity can sink. One of the biggest moments teased: Gi Hun sitting down for a talk with the Front Man. Season 2 ended on a cliffhanger where Gi-hun led a group of players against the Front Man but failed miserably as his best friend was killed right before his eyes by the supervising Front Man. What Gi-hun doesn't know is that the Front Man is actually In Ho, a previous winner of the Squid Game who now works as the head guard, posing as Player 001 under the name Young Il. Even though season 2 introduced many new characters, some of them didn't get enough screen time or development. Season 3 looks like it will fix that. 'In the third season, having that sense of huge guilt and sense of failure weighing heavily on him, how is Gi-hun going to carry on his mission? That's the story that'll further unfold.' While season 2 was a bit of a letdown for Squid Game fans, not quite hitting the high bar set by season 1, expectations for season 3 are sky-high. After the trailer dropped, fans are convinced the show will once more ride the Hallyu wave. 'I AM NOT WATCHING THE SQUID GAME 3 TRAILER, I'M TOO SCARED,' one fan commented. 'I can only imagine the betrayal, bitterness, and hatred Gi-hun will feel when Hwang In-ho reveals himself,' said another. 'My mental health is not ready to take all this, sorry, I can't,' a third added. 'Bro, 456 has so much on his plate — he wants to die but can't. WHEN GIHUN AND INHO FINALLY MET, OMG MY HEART DROPPED. Ex-BIGBANG's T.O.P admits past mistakes for first time through ‘failed drug addict' character: ‘I can finally move on with my life'
Ex-BIGBANG member T.O.P, who recently made his comeback to the spotlight with Netflix series Squid Game, may have shattered fans' hopes of a band reunion with his recent interview. The K-pop group went on an indefinite hiatus, having faced several controversies. T.O.P, aka Choi Seung Hyun, was at the peak of his stardom in his 20s and then came a big downfall that ruined his career. Back in 2016, the K-pop idol got embroiled in a drug scandal, and later, in 2017, he pleaded guilty. This led to a 10-month suspended jail sentence. He then eventually left BIGBANG and YG Entertainment. T.O.P hadn't spoken publicly or done interviews for over 11 years. But recently, during promotions for Squid Game 3 in Los Angeles, he decided to break his silence and admitted to his past mistakes for the first time. Thanos is a failed rapper and drug user. His role instantly became a popular choice among Squid Game fans. 'I think Thanos is a character that I had to have a lot of talks with Director Hwang to create,' the rapper said when asked to describe his character at Netflix FYSEE LA. 'We had a lot of talks down to the most minute details of this character. He's not an amazing rapper, he's more like a failed soul, a failed young person who's reliant on drugs. I looked up what happens when someone's addicted to those kinds of strong drugs.' The rapper had earlier called his return to the group 'shameful,' claiming he had hurt the reputation of the members. However, for the first time, he admitted to spiralling into tough times driven by anxiety and mood swings, and he took a chance to include those elements in the character of Thanos. 'I have made my mistakes in the past, and I have to come face to face with those mistakes when I was playing this character. So, I needed to muster up a lot of courage to take on this role,' he said. After his probation ended, T.O.P managed to work with BIGBANG again, but he received backlash and cancellation calls in return. Since 2023, he disappeared from the public eye, only to make a controversial return that proved to be a hit, and now he wants to open a new chapter in his life. 'Director Hwang gave me so much trust that I could have the confidence to play this role. While creating this character, Thanos, I could self-reflect about my past, and I think I can finally move on to a new chapter of my life. I learned a lot from this character,' he added. In 2017, the K-pop idol was convicted of marijuana use, with records suggesting it happened on three occasions. He was also discharged from the military and largely stayed off social media as well. Squid Game director Hwang Dong Hyuk had to later step in to justify his casting, saying, 'The incident happened a long time ago, and the sentence was completed,' adding that he has seen many artists return to the spotlight after such incidents and that it might be an appropriate time for him to return to work.
