Bo Nickal Sends Blistering Message: ‘Spit in Your Face' While Plotting UFC Comeback

The drama at UFC Kansas didn't wait for the first bell. Before a single punch was thrown, the co-main event between highly touted American rising star Bo Nickal and Reinier de Ridder had fans on edge. The highly anticipated clash brought eyes from every corner of the MMA world—but it was the aftermath of Nickal's first professional loss that truly lit up social media. What came next wasn't just about a loss—it was about a fighter sending a warning to everyone who doubted him. Bo Nickal initially kept a composed demeanor after the bout. But in a video posted to his personal YouTube channel, the former collegiate wrestling champion unleashed a raw and unfiltered message directed at critics. The clip, which was widely circulated and shared by Spinnin Backfist, featured Nickal saying: 'All the negative comments, I look at that and all I say is just like, suck my d**k,' Nickal said. 'At the end of the day, say what you want, but when I get back on top and when I'm the freaking champion of the world, they're all crawling back! And I will spit right in your face. As soon as you crawl back and you know, 'Bo, come give me an interview,' blah blah blah. Where were you? Where were you? And guess what I'm gonna say? 'Okay, come over here.' spits Right between the eyes. And that's how I'll treat you guys.' Despite the backlash and noise, Nickal made it clear he wants to fight again soon. He hopes to compete at least twice more this year, using the recent loss as motivation to sharpen his skills. Beterbiev-Bivol 2 results: Joseph Parker puts down short-notice opponent Martin Bakole with 2nd-round TKO

It wasn't the opponent Joseph Parker was planning to face two days ago, but it was still a good night for one of the heavyweight division's top contenders. The New Zealander defeated short-notice opponent Martin Bakole with a second-round TKO in the co-main event of the Beterbiev vs. Bivol 2 card in Riyadh. The fight ended in slow motion. Parker looked strong in the first round, then landed a shot to the top of Bakole's head that staggered the Congolese fighter, then knocked him down. Bakole's corner threw in the towel rather than let him re-enter the fight. PARKER PUTS OUT BAKOLE#RiyadhSeason — Spinnin Backfist (@SpinninBackfist) February 22, 2025 With Oleksandr Usyk in the building, Parker called for a heavyweight title shot after the fight. "Who's next? How about I fight for the world title next?" he said. "If [Oleksandr] Usyk wants a dance partner, I'll get Uncle Frank to come in here and lock in a fight with Usyk. I want to fight for a world title. I'd like to be champion of the world again soon." The co-main event was initially announced as Parker against IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois, but that plan went out the window on Thursday when Dubois was forced to withdraw due to an undisclosed medical issues. The turn of events would have been a devastating blow for what was supposed to be the "greatest boxing card of all time," had they not had a capable backup in Bakole. Considered by many to be the boogeyman of the heavyweight division, Bakole was the fighter no contender wanted to face due to a punching power that could end a fight in a second, but Parker agreed to face him. Bakole entered the fight under obvious constraints. He didn't arrive in Riyadh until Friday and weighed in unofficially at 315 pounds, 30 pounds heavier than his weight in his previous match against Jared Anderson. He was carrying a visible amount of extra weight and in the wrong phase of his training, but he still delivered intrigue to a reeling card that also lost Floyd Schofield in the previous fight. Judging from the stoppage, Bakole's corner didn't want him to risk much. That's understandable, and the loss shouldn't hurt Bakole too much given the circumstances. As for Parker, he clearly has plenty of options in front of him after six straight wins, including ones over Bakole, Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang. Beterbiev-Bivol 2 results: Shakur Stevenson wears Josh Padley down in 9th round TKO

The WBC lightweight championship bout between Shakur Stevenson and Josh Padley went much as expected with the reigning champion facing a last-minute challenger. Stevenson wore Padley down with body blows, eventually bringing him down three times in Round 9 for a TKO at Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol 2 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Padley, 29, was a late replacement for Floyd Schofield and tried to be aggressive to start. However, Stevenson kept him at bay with his jab and took control of the fight early on. Stevenson, 27, asserted himself in the second round with a flurry of combinations that landed some punches squarely on Padley's jaw. The Yorkshire native didn't buckle, but had difficulty trying to keep up with his favored opponent. Welp Shakur gets his finish #RiyadhSeason — Spinnin Backfist (@SpinninBackfist) February 22, 2025 Padley had to spend most of his efforts defending himself against Stevenson's jab, leaving him open to body punches. As Padley's hands lowered, he began to appear overmatched as Stevenson landed a couple of hard lefts in the third round. Yet Padley attempted to go at Stevenson harder in the fifth round, perhaps sensing that he needed to make up points and keep the fight from going longer. As Padley's corner cheered and the crowd showed some life, Stevenson appeared amused. He wasn't deterred, continuing to rattle Padley with his jab and breaking through a weakening defense with a couple of right hooks. Stevenson's left hand appeared to be hurt in the fourth round, with him shaking it after connecting on some punches with it. That wasn't enough to get him to back off as he continued hitting Padley with several hard rights to the face and body. Yet the left looked like it was more of an issue for Stevenson as the seventh round ended. Shakur trying to get tough with an electrician and stare him down at the end of the round with a hurt hand is embarrassing #StevensonPadley — BOXINGEGO (@Boxingego) February 22, 2025 Despite Stevenson having a clear advantage, he couldn't put Padley away with a power punch or strong combination. His injured left hand may have been a factor there. But many fans on social media noted derisively that Padley was staying in the fight when he was working his day job as an electrician just three days prior. Padley finally began to falter in Round 9, brought to his knees by a body punch to his left ribs early on. Seizing the advantage, Stevenson continued to go to the body and Padley could not stay upright due to the pain. The Brit pounded the canvas in frustration, but could offer little resistance and his corner threw in the towel for their fighter after he went down for the third time. Stevenson improved to 23-0 with 11 knockouts, while Padley lost for the first time to make his record 15-1 with four knockouts. Beterbiev-Bivol 2 results: Agit Kabayel melts Zhilei Zhang with brutal body shot knockout

Agit Kabayel has arrived as an elite heavyweight. The undefeated German battled back from adversity to score a thunderous sixth-round knockout of Zhilei Zhang and capture the WBC interim heavyweight title on Saturday's Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol 2 undercard at the Anb Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A crippling combination of punches to the body at the 2:29 mark of Round 6 left Zhang unable to answer the referee's 10-count. Kabayel TKOs ZhangWOW#Riyadhseason — Spinnin Backfist (@SpinninBackfist) February 22, 2025 While he may have secured the biggest win of his professional boxing career, the night was far from easy for Kabayel (26-0, 18 KOs). Zhang (27-3, 22 KOs), emboldened by a 46.5-pound weight advantage, stormed out of the gates with an aggressive approach early, controlling the ring, throwing punches in bunches and using his towering size to exert pressure. But that opening-round blitzkrieg didn't last, and the 32-year-old Kabayel found his rhythm as the early frames wore on, tenderizing Zhang's body with repeated jabs and power hooks to slow his 41-year-old foe. Just as it appeared Zhang's gas tank was reaching critical levels, "Big Bang" summoned a monster left hand that sent Kabayel toppling down to the canvas midway through Round 5. Kabayel rose to his feet, however, and continued chipping away with heavy body shots before finally delivering a right hand directly to the guys followed by the sharp, fight-ending left hook to the liver that sent Zhang down to one knee for good. With the win, Kabayel gets in line to challenge unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, who was ringside to present the WBC interim belt to the victor. Zhang falls to 3-3 over his past six bouts, including a 2024 majority decision loss to Joseph Parker.
