SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY Rumored to Bring in Shang-Chi, Silver Samurai, Viper... and the Alien Suit — GeekTyrant

Here we go again, Spider-Man: Brand New Day rumors are spreading online like a wild fire. The latest claims come from insider Alex Perez at The Cosmic Circus, who says he's he's seen concept art that show that Tom Holland's next MCU outing will pit him against Silver Samurai and Viper, with none other than Shang-Chi fighting by his side. According to Perez, these two villains, last seen teamed up in The Wolverine (2013), could be the main antagonists. 'What I heard involves a connection [between Peter Parker and Bruce] dating back to the earliest days of the MCU and exploring some uncharted territory for both characters' personal histories,' he adds, implying a deeper story that brings The Hulk into play too. Now, before anyone gets too hyped, let's pump the brakes. Perez previously claimed that Spider-Man: Brand New Day would feature Venom and Knull following the release of Venom: The Last Dance , so we're definitely in 'take it with a grain of salt' territory. That said, the idea of Spider-Man clashing swords with Silver Samurai and dodging toxins from Viper in a global martial-arts-flavored showdown? Yeah, it's wild enough to be interesting. It's also worth noting that Perez believes that Brand New Day , Daredevil: Born Again , and The Punisher Special Presentation are the only MCU projects leading directly into the long-rumored Mayor Fisk storyline. If true, this could be the first major link between Peter Parker and the darker street-level world of the MCU. As for that alien costume, according to the report, Spidey's black suit will indeed appear in the movie, which instantly cranks up the speculation machine about Symbiotes, Multiverse crossovers, and all kinds of narrative mayhem. Viper aka Madame Hydra is a deadly martial artist, toxin expert, and terrorist with ties to Hydra and a long history of battling heroes like Wolverine and Captain America. Silver Samurai, meanwhile, is a mutant with a tachyon-charged blade capable of slicing through nearly anything. He's most often a Wolverine nemesis, but has been known to blur the lines between villain and anti-hero. Directed by Shang-Chi filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton, with a script from MCU vets Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Holland stars alongside Zendaya, Sadie Sink, and Liza Colón-Zayas. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.

New SPIDER-MAN '94 Comic Picks Up Where the Animated Series Left Off — GeekTyrant

Nearly three decades after Spider-Man: The Animated Series ended on a multiverse-sized cliffhanger, fans are finally getting the continuation they've waited for, just not on TV. Instead, Marvel is reviving that beloved version of Peter Parker in Spider-Man '94 , a brand-new four-issue comic that picks up right where the animated series left off. IGN broke the news that Spider-Man '94 will act as a direct sequel to the classic 1994 Fox Kids cartoon, bringing back the world, tone, and storyline that ended with Spider-Man swinging into the unknown in search of the real Mary Jane Watson. Well, according to this comic, he found her. Here's Marvel's official tease: 'After searching to the ends of the Multiverse, PETER PARKER – the AMAZING, the SPECTACULAR, the RADIOACTIVE Web-Head himself – A.K.A. SPIDER-MAN, swings back into the streets of New York City with his beloved Mary Jane WATSON in tow! But what's this? One of these villains is not like the others: Witness this universe's debut of not one, but TWO of Spider-Man's greatest villains from the comics!' Peter and MJ are finally back in New York. But peace and quiet? Not a chance. As the press release hints, two iconic Spidey villains (who never appeared in the original cartoon) are about to make their animated-universe debut in comic form. J.M. DeMatteis, who's no stranger to Spider-Man lore ( Kraven's Last Hunt ), is writing the series with art by Jim Towe. And for fans of the show, DeMatteis says this isn't just a nostalgia cash-in, it's a legitimate continuation: 'We're treating this as the next season of the show.' Marvel clearly knows who this is for. The rest of their pitch basically invites you to pull out your old action figures and sit cross-legged in front of a CRT: 'Legendary Spider-Scribe J.M. DeMATTEIS and rising star artist JIM TOWE bring you the return you've all been waiting thirty years for! And you're never going to expect the twists and turns ahead for your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man! Break out your action figures, and post up in front of the TV as we bring you back to the greatest era of animated super hero television in history!' Spider-Man '94 #1 swings into shops on September 3. If you've been holding your breath since that finale aired in 1998…you can exhale now.

‘Spider-Man '94' Comic Will Pick Up Right Where the Animated Series Left Off

Spider-Man: The Animated Series remains a fan favorite nearly 30 years after its conclusion—and it's not just that giant cliffhanger ending that makes people wish it would return, though that's certainly a motivating factor. While the first season of X-Men '97 did wink at the Spidey ending in its own finale last year, Marvel's current animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man has its own continuity going. However, a new Marvel comic will dive right back into The Animated Series story proper, starting where it left off. IGN reports four-issue limited series Spider-Man '94 (so named because Spider-Man: The Animated Series debuted that year on Fox Kids Network) will show that Peter's search for MJ (the real MJ, not her clone) was indeed successful—as X-Men '97 suggested with that MJ cameo—and they're both back in New York in time to face a pair of notorious, new-to-them villains. Here's how Marvel's press release describes the story: 'After searching to the ends of the Multiverse, PETER PARKER – the AMAZING, the SPECTACULAR, the RADIOACTIVE Web-Head himself – A.K.A. SPIDER-MAN, swings back into the streets of New York City with his beloved Mary Jane WATSON in tow! But what's this? One of these villains is not like the others: Witness this universe's debut of not one, but TWO of Spider-Man's greatest villains from the comics!' 'Legendary Spider-Scribe J.M. DeMATTEIS and rising star artist JIM TOWE bring you the return you've all been waiting thirty years for! And you're never going to expect the twists and turns ahead for your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man! Break out your action figures, and post up in front of the TV as we bring you back to the greatest era of animated super hero television in history!' DeMatteis told IGN that 'We're treating this as the next season of the show,' staying true to the spirit of the series while also introducing new adventures and bringing fresh foes into the mix. Spider-Man '94 #1 arrives September 3. Will you be checking it out?

Post Malone's Biggest Hit Beats His New Country Smashes As It Grows

Post Malone's current hits on the Billboard charts showcase just how diverse his musical output has been throughout his career. The superstar claims a pair of country wins in the United States, but it's one of his hip-hop-leaning tracks that continues to gain ground globally — years after it became one of the most successful tracks in American history. "Sunflower," Malone's collaboration with Swae Lee, currently appears on four Billboard rankings. Two of these tallies are based entirely on U.S. consumption, while the track also manages to live on a pair of global rosters. The cut, which was written and recorded for the film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, is currently the only one of Malone's charting tunes that lifts across every list on which it appears — an incredibly impressive feat for a cut that was originally a smash in 2018. This week, "Sunflower" inches to No. 11 on the Rap Streaming Songs chart, nearing the top 10 once more. It also breaks back into the top 20 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs ranking, climbing from No. 22 to No. 20. At the same time, Malone's tune ascends a few spots on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., settling at No. 171. It appears almost 50 spaces higher on the Billboard Global 200, landing at No. 127. "Sunflower" is the highest-certified song in U.S. history, as it remains the only double diamond tune. That means that in the U.S. alone, it has shifted 20 million equivalent units, combining sales and streaming activity. Its consistent consumption has kept it on all four of the Billboard charts mentioned for at least 100 weeks, while it is approaching 250 weeks on the global tallies. Malone also scores a pair of country wins in America, as both "I Had Some Help" and "I Ain't Coming Back," which both feature Morgan Wallen, appear on at least half a dozen tallies apiece. "I Had Some Help" has been around for well over a year, and is amazingly still the stronger performer of the two in many respects. The collaboration lifts to No. 15 on the Hot 100, 56 weeks into its tenure on the tally. Meanwhile, "I Ain't Coming Back," after just seven frames, dips to No. 21.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing — The Exhibition Amazes In Chicago

Marvel's Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing – The Exhibition Chicago's Griffin Museum of Science and Industry is currently featuring another beyond impressive exhibit with Marvel's Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing – The Exhibition, running through Feb. 8, 2026. It first swung into the museum on May 22. The traveling exhibit was developed by Semmel Exhibitions in conjunction with Marvel and co-curated by comic scholars Benjamin Saunders and Patrick A. Reed. It was also designed by acclaimed Berlin-based collective StudioTK. Saunders, Reed, and StudioTK previously worked with Marvel and Semmel on the hit touring exhibition Marvel: The Exhibition - Universe Of Super Heroes. In addition to Spider-Man and Marvel, the museum has also sported other top-notch entertainment exhibits focusing on Walt Disney, Pixar, and James Bond as the subjects in recent years. Where the latest special exhibit at MSI succeeds is in blending original meaningful comic book art, iconic costumes and rare props from the films, and fun interactive photo ops. The mixture of the spectacular Spidey elements will wow web-slinger fans from young children to seniors and the average MCU watcher to devout comic readers and collectors. The exhibit takes you from the creation and first appearance of the character to his evolution into mainstream pop culture, a journey spanning six decades. My top 5 must-see items at the new Spider-Man exhibit: 1. Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin mask and bomb from 2002's 'Spider-Man': Considered one of, if not the best comic-book movie villains of all time, Dafoe's take on Norman Osborn in the Sam Raimi directed flick, that helped ignite the on-screen superhero craze, is legendary. Seeing the mask up close is an awe-inspiring experience for any superhero or movie fan. The piece was one of the best items the museum could have possibly featured in the exhibit. Full marks to MSI for snagging it. 2. Design sketch for original Spider-Man Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon: This piece was the biggest surprise for me. Not only did the Spider-Man balloon become one of the parade's most iconic, but the 1987 original concept sketch was done by top Spider-Man artist John Romita. Another applaudable find and display item for the museum. New York, N.Y.: Spiderman heads down 6th Ave. during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on November ... More 28, 2024 in New York City. Tom Holland's main suit from 2021's 'Spider-Man: No Way Home': Tom Holland is this generation's Spider-Man and it seems the current web-slinger is sticking around for some time still. Sporting a costume from the monumental Spidey blockbuster was another good look for the exhibit and museum. 4. An Amazing Fantasy #15 CGC 5.5 Valued by Comic Book Price Guide at $82,000, the unrivaled 1962 comic book featured the creation of the character from writer-editor Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko. Legendary comic artist Jack Kirby's work is featured on the cover as the first cover art of the famed superhero. The curators could have settled for lower grade issue, which still would have impressed the majority of exhibit goers, but to the delight of comic book fans and collectors, they took things up a notch. 5. Original cover art for Ultimate Fallout #4 Likely the exhibit's best pull for original Spidey comic art, 2011's Ultimate Fallout #4 features the first appearance of Miles Morales, who becomes the new Spider-Man following the death of Peter Parker. Morales quickly won comic fans over, is featured in the preschool age Disney series Spidey and His Amazing Friends, and is likely to make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the near future.
