Sandra Bullock sent a voice note to Dakota Johnson after Razzie win; called her ‘part of the club': 'There are a lot of good people who..'
has had a whirlwind few months. Along with rumours of her breakup with Coldplay frontman after being together for eight years, Dakota was also awarded a Razzie for Worst Actress for her performance in 'Madame Web'. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The superhero film, which saw Johnson play Cassandra Webb – a paramedic with precognitive powers – was a critical and box office failure. It was criticised for its weak screenplay, underwhelming performances and messy execution. It even bagged the Razzie for Worst Picture and Worst Screenplay. 's kind voice note But in the middle of all this chaos, Johnson received a sweet and unexpected message from none other than Sandra Bullock. While speaking on 's Good Hang podcast, Dakota shared how Sandra reached out to her after the Razzie announcement. 'There's a lot of good people who have won that,' Dakota said, adding that Sandra Bullock left her a voice note saying, 'I heard you are in the Razzie club. We should have brunch, a monthly Razzie brunch.' Sandra Bullock had once famously won both an Oscar and a Razzie in the same year back in 2010, which made her message all the more meaningful and comforting. Dakota's reaction: 'I was freaking out' The supportive voice note left a strong impression on Johnson. She couldn't hide her excitement, calling Sandra Bullock 'so iconic' and confessing that she was 'freaking out' after hearing from her. The message may have been light-hearted, but it carried a deeper meaning. It reminded Dakota that even the most talented actors face setbacks, and that true support in Hollywood can come in the most unexpected ways – like a voice note encouraging a monthly Razzie brunch. 'Madame Web': A misfire for Sony The film 'Madame Web', released as part of Sony's Spider-Verse, turned out to be a big disappointment. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now However, Dakota made it clear that the film's creative direction wasn't in her hands. In a previous interview with the Los Angeles Times, she bluntly said, 'It's not my fault,' distancing herself from the film's flaws. Audiences also had mixed reactions. Our official ETimes rating for the film stood at 2.5 stars out of 5. The review read: 'The whole attempt to infuse some family feel into the story with Cassie's colleague O'Neil (Mike Epps) and his pregnant sister-in-law Mary Parker (Emma Roberts) is so half-hearted. In conclusion, 'Madame Web' falls short of making a significant impact within the superhero genre, serving more as a tepid introduction than a compelling addition to an already saturated universe.' Despite the criticism, Dakota Johnson's honest response, and Sandra Bullock's supportive gesture, made for a heart-warming moment that many fans appreciated. New York Governor congrats ‘power couple' Josh Allen, Hailee Steinfeld on wedding
The post New York Governor congrats 'power couple' Josh Allen, Hailee Steinfeld on wedding appeared first on ClutchPoints. Following their wedding, New York Governor Kathy Hochul congratulated Buffalo Bills star Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld on their marriage. She took to X, formerly Twitter, to quote post Pop Base's post about Allen and Steinfeld's wedding. 'Congrats to a real New York power couple,' she wrote with Bills red and blue heart emojis. 'Go Bills.' Of course, Allen is the quarterback of the Bills, one of New York's football teams, and Hochul wants to show her support of the star. Over the last few days, photos have surfaced of Allen and Steinfeld's wedding. In the pictures, Steinfeld is wearing an elegant white dress with matching sleeves on her arms. Her hair appeared to be pulled back. Allen, meanwhile, was wearing a classy black tuxedo. Their wedding comes months after their engagement. Allen proposed to Steinfeld during the Bills' bye week in November 2024, and they have now tied the knot. Allen and Steinfeld have been together since 2023. While they do not receive as much attention from the media as Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, they are another one of the NFL's high-profile couples. It has been quite a year for Allen. He won his first-ever NFL MVP for his 2024 campaign, during which he threw for 3,731 yards, 28 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He added another 531 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground. Allen also had a receiving touchdown as well. However, the Bills were eliminated from the playoffs by Allen's biggest rival, Patrick Mahomes, quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs. He is now 0-4 against Mahomes in the playoffs despite having a 4-1 record against him in the regular season. Now, Allen is heading into his eighth season in the NFL. The Bills are hoping to get over the hump and win a Super Bowl with Allen as their signal-caller. Steinfeld is on a hot streak of her own. She was just seen in Sinners with Michael B. Jordan. Sinners is Ryan Coogler's latest feature film, and it has grossed over $350 million worldwide at the box office. She has also had roles in other blockbusters, such as Bumblebee and the Spider-Verse series. Steinfeld will soon return to voice Gwen Stacy in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Her breakthrough came when she starred in Pitch Perfect 2. She launched an acting and music career with that performance. Her other notable roles include ones in The Edge of Seventeen, Ender's Game, and Hawkeye.

Ahead Of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, The Franchise's Flash Thompson Actor Shares One Hope For The Character (And I Have Mixed Feelings)
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Sony's standalone live-action Spider-Verse officially seems dead following a series of duds. All the while, the actual live-action Spider-Man that exists in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has seen success that's unmatched for a character that's been adapted for film so many times. With the upcoming Brand New Day, Tom Holland will do something nobody has done before: star in a fourth Spidey movie. Ahead of that, co-star Tony Revelori revealed something he'd love to seen, and I'm torn. What will actually happen in the upcoming Spidey flick is anyone's guest but, now that Sony's Venom franchise has come to an end, seeing an official MCU Venom isn't outside the realm of possibility. If it were to happen, Tony Revolori, who plays Flash Thompson in the continuity, admits he would love to follow in the comic character's footsteps and become Agent Venom. He told The Direct… Yeah, you know, look, I've read the comics that everyone's read. I would be really, really f-ing excited to do something like that. That would be really cool. I have no idea what or if or when or maybe, and we'll see. Look, the hope is to do it, the dream is to do it. And we'll see if it ever happens. And if it doesn't, they're making great shit regardless that I will watch over and over and over again, and I'm just happy to have been a part of it. While the version of Venom that we saw in Sony's trilogy with Tom Hardy is the somewhat traditional version of the character, the Venom symbiote of the comics has gone a lot of places and bonded with a lot of people over the decades. One of those was Flash Thompson, who bonded with Venom as part of a U.S. government program when Thompson was in the military. The character became known as Agent Venom. On the one hand, this is a kind of brilliant idea. If and when Venom ever officially joins the MCU, doing it in a significantly different way makes a lot of sense. After all, fans just saw a trilogy of Venom/Eddie Brock movies, which are officially part of Marvel's multiverse, so doing it again likely isn't going to excite a lot of people. On top of that, connecting Venom to an existing MCU character that audiences know certainly makes more sense than introducing all of it with new characters. Fans know the character already, and they know Flash, so why not? Tony Revolori's version of Flash is also significantly different from the traditional comic iteration, which means an original, and therefore more interesting, version of Agent Venom as a result. At the same time, it's not even clear at this point whether Tony Revolori, or other recurring Spidey movie actors are even going to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, nobody knows Peter Parker. This gives the movie a really intriguing opportunity to take the franchise in new directions, and if everybody from the other movies just comes back anyway, it won't feel like much of anything is 'brand new.' Like a lot of people, I would love to see Tom Holland's Spider-Man go up against Venom at some point, whatever form that may take. If it ends up being Flash Thompson's Venom, it's not the worst idea. I'm just not sure it's the right one.

Andrew Garfield & Focus Features Nearing Deals To Join Paul Greengrass Peasant Revolt Movie ‘The Rage': Cannes Market
EXCLUSIVE: In one of the bigger deals being thrashed out during the Cannes market, we hear that Focus Features is working on a domestic pact in the $11M range for Paul Greengrass' peasant revolt movie The Rage. Two-time Oscar nominee Andrew Garfield is now in active negotiations to join the movie in the lead role, taking over from Matthew McConaughey. More from Deadline Jude Law & Andrew Garfield To Play Siegfried & Roy In Limited Series Ordered By Apple TV+ Andrew Garfield Says Spider-Man Return 'Would Have To Be Very Weird' & The 'Creative Freedom' Of Animated 'Spider-Verse' Movies Alexander Skarsgård-Harry Melling BDSM Romance Pic 'Pillion' Spurs Eight-Minute Ovation At Cannes Premiere The film is set during the Peasants' Revolt, a major uprising that took part across large parts of England in 1381 in response to socio-economic and political tensions and high taxation. Should a deal get done, which we understand is likely, Garfield would play a farmer who becomes the leader of the revolt. It has been speculated that the character could be based on the legendary Wat Tyler, who led the uprising before being killed by forces loyal to King Richard, though this is unconfirmed. Garfield's English background (the dual UK-U.S. national was raised in the UK) makes him a good fit for the project. Between Spider-Man and Hacksaw Ridge, The Social Network and tick tick…BOOM! he has long proven able to mix it between action and prestige roles that connect with audiences and garner significant box office. He is coming off romantic drama We Live in Time, which took close to $60M worldwide, and next will be seen opposite Julia Roberts in Luca Guadagnino's After the Hunt. RELATED: Oscar nominee Greengrass, well known for the Bourne franchise and such movies as Captain Phillips and United 93, is scripting the project. Jason Blum is producing through Blumhouse Productions, with Greg Goodman, Joanna Kaye and Greengrass. CAA Media Finance is repping domestic. FilmNation is selling international. Focus has been into the project for a while and began talks at EFM. Blum and Goodman recently teamed on Greengrass' upcoming movie The Lost Bus for Apple. Focus is coming off a busy and lucrative awards season thanks to Conclave and Nosferatu. It's at the Cannes Film Festival with Wes Anderson's Phoenician Scheme and The History of Sound and there are high hopes later this year for movies such as Hamnet, Bugonia and the next Downton Abbey installment. Spider-Noir first look: Nicolas Cage in gritty superhero series set during the Great Depression-era New York
Nicolas Cage is officially returning to the Spider-Verse, this time in a live-action role as the gritty, noir-style superhero in 'Spider-Noir,' a new series co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios. The first-look image for the series has been unveiled, giving fans a glimpse of Nicolas Cage's brooding take on the mid-century hero, first introduced in animated form in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and Across the Spider-Verse (2023). Set in Great Depression-era New York, 'Spider-Noir' follows an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator, who also happens to be the city's only costumed crimefighter. The series marks Nicolas Cage's first television role, portraying a darker, vintage version of Spider-Man that pays homage to pulp fiction and noir cinema of the era. The series will be available to watch in both black-and-white and color, allowing viewers to choose how they experience the stylised setting. In addition to Cage, the series will feature a diverse ensemble cast including: Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin) Jack Huston (American Hustle) Lamorne Morris (New Girl, Fargo) Guest stars will include Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Cameron Britton, Kai Caster, Cary Christopher, Lukas Haas, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Andrew Robinson, and Amanda Schull. 'Spider-Noir' is set to premiere sometime in 2026, though an exact date has not yet been revealed. The series will first air on MGM+'s cable and satellite channels in the US, followed by a global release on Amazon Prime Video the following day. Spider-Man Noir, also known as Spider-Noir or simply Noir, is an alternate version of Peter Parker from Marvel's Noir universe. Like the original, he gains his powers from a radioactive spider and takes on the mantle of crimefighter after the death of his Uncle Ben — but this version operates in a much darker, more violent world, using detective skills and old-school grit rather than quippy charm. With its period setting, stylized visuals, and Nicolas Cage's noir-infused gravitas, 'Spider-Noir' promises to bring something fresh to the ever-expanding Marvel multiverse.
