First block of Tabuan Melayu II Spektra affordable homes ready by end of 2026

KUCHING (May 8): The first block of Rumah Spektra Permata (RSP) affordable homes in Tabuan Melayu II, Demak Laut here is expected to be completed by the end of next year.
The second block of the project will ready by the end of 2027.
'This project, which commenced in August 2023, is part of the state government's strategic efforts to provide safer, more orderly, and comfortable places for the people,' Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni said in a statement today.
He reaffirmed the Sarawak government's commitment to improving the well-being of the community through quality affordable housing.
According to the statement, the project will have a major impact on residents' quality of life, as well as contribute to the socioeconomic development of the surrounding area.
The project is specifically for Tabuan Melayu residents from the B40 group who do not own land and houses.
Rumah Spektra Permata Tabuan Melayu II consists of several affordable housing units designed with comfort, safety, and sustainability in mind.
The units are equipped with modern infrastructure including a drainage system, sewage treatment plant, street lighting, and organised road network.
This development is expected to open new economic opportunities for locals, especially in the construction, service, and maintenance sectors.
Recently, Dr Hazland, who is Demak Laut assemblyman, and the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) held an engagement session with the residents involved to discuss arising issues.
